Dev post 9: Tapes
I have been on a break for a bit for a collab i was in, but now im back with another variable.

Tapes are a collectable item that can unlock unique dialog and even endings. These are recordings from the waking world that you can play on TVs in the world to save your progress. The amount of tapes you collect can influence the story while the certain tapes you collect can influence dialog and interaction

Dev post 8: Prayer beads and pajamas
This is where i start prototyping on the mechanics and how they affect the gameplay
Prayers are the main form of attack in the game and vary based on needs (yes there is one that involves a lot of RNG for you gamblers)

Sorry for the day long pause between the usually daily posts, but a lot is going on
the good news is that ive made some progress on the battle strats and stats (obviously NOT final, im checking in with others in the fandom for their thoughts and am open to suggestions)

Dev Post 1: placeholders and test maps
I have created a placeholder character (to learn how to import custom sprites) and used an enemy that came with RPGMakerVX as the placeholder main character and enemy. Tomorrow I will figure out dialog (also with placeholder sprites)
I also used some assets from RPGMaker to start laying out test maps and brainstorming how the final levels will look

Hello there, and welcome to my project!
My name is Monika (she/her), you may know me in the AoNoEx community as the person whos kidfu is Nemu Takara from the series.
I wanted to make a story about him for a long time since Kato-sensei has implied that he will always be a mystery in this interview. I think that is a bad play since the dynamic between Nemu and his familiar would be a very interesting dynamic to explore.
I was excited for the release of Alterna VVelt, but upon playing it became apparent that it was a bad Genshin clone, which was really disappointing. The gameplay was not great and does not work with this story at all. I felt it would be better to make an AoNoEx story as an RPG since strategy is a huge part of exorcising demons in the series, not just brute force.
I am at the very beginning of the development. I am still learning RPG Maker (not the most original way to make a fangame, but many good fangames were made using the software). I will use this blog to document my development journey into the admittedly self-indulgent project.
I am in college currently, so this will be an on and off project that might take a long time. I thank you for your patience and support regardless. If you have any ideas, feel free to DM me. Thank you for supporting the development of AoNo Exorcist: Parallel Story.
