Lee is supposed to be a sort of joke character it's supposed to to come off as funny when he confesses to Sakura only to immediately get rejected I couldn't tell you why its funny but just know it's supposed to be funny

I get that Lee is like canonically ugly so the joke could be like cute girl rejects ugly weird boy but the same thing happens with Naruto he confesses gets rejected and it's supposed to be funny

Anyway long story short I think one of the reasons why a lot of the canon romances in Naruto are ass is cus kishimoto thinks men blatantly displaying their love or interest is a joke/good base for a joke

Naruhina feels forced because Naruto didn't show any interest Sasusaku feels loveless because Sakura is the only one to show interest Inosai and Chokarui are just there

Only ones I can think of that don't fall into this are Minato and kushina and they're both dead so
