TRACK 01: Reunion After One Year

Nice, back to America with Wallace and Mimi :) Wallace has such a nice sounding voice, but it's a little monotone. Pretty similar to Terriermon's voice. Gummimon's voice was super cute too.

Why are the digimon in their in-training forms (Chibimon and Gummimon). It's kind of refreshing, but also makes it seem like they just got out of a tough battle right at the story's start?

Daisuke talking about summer being overhyped made me sad because I'm about to enter summer and I'm trying to feel the same joy about it I felt as a child, but it's hard 😭 (but also, that's a fair assessment coming from him lol).

TRACK 02: Do I, Do You?

Oh, apparently this is a musical lol. I thought this was just a drama CD with some songs, but the song was related to the story and the dialogue sort of led into it. I'm very into this.

Picturing Chibimon and Gummimon sing such a solemn ballad is pretty hard to take seriously though

TRACK 03: An Encounter with the Girl

So just like in Digimon Adventure 1 we have snow in the summer and the kids are spirited away into a strange world.

I was a little frustrated that Mimi and Wallace were acting like Daisuke was crazy for hearing voices when they couldn't. You would think being sucked into a parallel world would make them believe him.

I'm enjoying Wallace's random English "unbelievable..." The voice actor's pronunciation is pretty good! I looked her up and apparently she spent time learning English in Austria. Very cool.

TRACK 04: Open Your Heart

Mimi sings a generic love song. I guess we're supposed to imagine Daisuke and mystery girl frolicking to it or something? Mimi's gotta have the most songs out of all the Digimon characters.

TRACK 05: Snowy New York

So IDK what Nat's deal is, she's probably not human (a ghost? a digimon?) and she's desperate for male attention for whatever reason. Kind of uncomfortable tbh. The way she asks Daisuke to abandon his friends, she kinda gives of siren luring men off to their deaths vibes.

TRACK 06: Only Lonely

Another ballad, this time by Nat. She seems to not understand social cues at all. Like she questions why she's so lonely but then tells Daisuke to abandon his friends? Oh well, her singing voice is pretty! (Apparently this VA played Onpu in Ojamajo Doremi)

TRACK 07: Data Chip

Nat-chan is revealed to be a digimon (I mean, it was pretty obvious) and she's corrupted by a bunch of firefly-like data chips. I was kind of struggling to imagine flying data chips so I googled images to help me out lol

We get a callback to Chocomon's corruption. It's interesting how this is more of a side story to one of the movies instead of the show.

It was a little hard to take the dramatic moment of Nat-chan's rampage seriously because they replayed her ballad in the background (it felt especially funny when the background vocals chimed in lol).

TRACK 08: Reach for You

Daisuke sings a comforting song to Nat-chan about how he's there for her and stuff. I'm not digging this whole insta-love stuff. I guess it's more insta-friendship since they aren't the same species. Daisuke's female VA is really good at singing with a manly voice haha. I went and double checked that it was a woman singing (anime has my brain confused about how men naturally sound tbh).

TRACK 09: The Door to Summer

Oookaaay? So Nat-chan randomly explodes and they're sent back to normal NYC. Not sure what the point of any of that was really?

It's kind of funny hearing Chibimon say "she can't be your partner because I'm your partner!" while I'm watching Fusion where Taiki has a whole army lol (different universes, I know).

How exactly does one find a digiegg its partner? Craigslist? Facebook? (Well, not in the year this came out...)

TRACK 10: Streets to the Summer

This was a Wallace song (sung by his very feminine voice actress in contrast to Daisuke's song haha). I was super distracted the whole time because it sounded a lot like I Want You Back by The Jackson 5 (that song has a lot of soundalikes though)

Kinda a weird concept? "The door to summer" yet most of the CD was spent in a winter world...maybe they mean the door back to the real world?

This was an odd one and the story left me kinda empty. It was a lot like the weaker Digimon movies where the plot isn't allowed to have any depth or consequences. The only thing it (maybe) contributed to lore was a potential love interest for Daisuke, but that clearly wasn't meant to be. In the end, it was just nice to hear some familiar voices, callbacks and get some new character songs. That's all I really need from a drama CD.

Ehh. I don't feel Digimon ships these days, but I remember I shipped Taisora and I was disappointed in the Adventure 02 ending, but I quickly got over it. I also shipped Tai/Matt, Joe/Mimi, Ryo/Rika, Takuya/Kouji, Kouji/Zoe, Yuujin/Haru and Rei/Haru. The only ship I give a shit about these days is Taiki/Tagiru. Yeah. Those are my Digi-App-shipping thoughts I guess.

Digi-Gaming on my Nintendo Switch #1

I fucked up on Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, so I ended up deleting my file out of frustration and starting to replay Hacker's Memory. Honestly, the story of Hacker's Memory and gameplay is better than the original Cyber Sleuth. I'm the only one who finds the original Cyber Sleuth kinda boring and enjoy Hacker's Memory more?

So, I made a sideblog for Appmon and Digimon. Mostly contains reblogs of fanarts, fanfics, etc. I may share my thoughts, headcanons, fanart (If i try to draw a Appmon/Digimon in my artstyle), etc once in a while. Yeah. A long time Digimon fan since 1999 and a Appmon fan since 2017.
