I wrote the kanji for "flower" (花) using calligraphy on a fan. Writing with a brush is a traditional Japanese art, and it has a unique charm. Why not try making your own fan at AriHana Kyoto? It’s sure to be a memorable experience during your visit to Kyoto.

Today is Hinamatsuri (Doll's Festival) in Japan, celebrated every year on March 3rd! It's a special day when families display hina dolls to celebrate the arrival of spring. At AriHana Kyoto, we are also joining in the festivities by showcasing handmade hina dolls. Our collection includes fun paper cup hina dolls with movable arms and simple yet beautiful origami hina dolls, which are easy to make and great for anyone looking to try their hand at traditional Japanese crafts.
One important tradition for Hinamatsuri is that the hina dolls must be put away right after the celebration ends, so make sure to enjoy the day to its fullest! 🌸
