Aryuna blinked a few times. She said, "I was given him. By an old housekeeper."
She didn't say that the housekeeper was a vampire, and she had poisoned him, but it was hardly anybody's business. "Well if you're sure. I know he... unnerves people."
Just A Browse [Brielle, Aryuna]
Aryuna frowned, disappointed. She saw her customer’s expression and tried to smile. “Oh, Trap? He’s a death hound. But he wouldn’t hurt my customers don’t worry! He usually helps around the shop, since I’m partially deaf.”
Aryuna glanced at Trap again. “If he’s bothering you, I can put him in the back room.”

Aryuna’s hearing dog, Trap, had taken an uncharacteristic nap in the morning. The altmer glanced at Trap nervously, hoping he was okay, but his breathing was even, and occasionally his leg would twitch, as if chasing far off rabbits, or perhaps a bandit.
There was already a mer perusing her stock, but he didn’t seem to be buying anything yet. She was just hanging some dried ingredients when the customer said something, and confused, she glanced at the door. A young breton appeared. Aryuna read her lips, and tried not to look too bashful. “Of course, my store is open to anybody. Please, come in.”

"Oh, alright," Aryuna sighed, and put the fur-rimmed hood of her cloak up, so that it was hard to see her eyes.
They stopped on the scrubland outside the mill, in the cold. A snow hare darted across, and rain started to fall. "Let's begin!"
Magic
The tall altmer stepped easily over a fallen log and replied, “I have used restoration, and know alteration a bit better, but nothing impressive. Even though my blood is full of magic, I find learning harder than most altmer…”
She stopped to survey their position. Everything was still, so it must be the calm before the storm. Luckily, the windmill was visible from where they now stood, and they could shelter inside. She knew there was a hearth and a dining room, but the rest of the mill seemed to be too dusty to use.
“My mother could never understand why. There it is, Ondolemar,” She said glad to be almost there.

Aryuna appreciated the arm touches, as it meant she would know he was talking, and she wasn’t sure if it was the cold or him but she had goosebumps. “I think I like fire, it’s warm,”
She saw a deer scatter off to the distance, and Trap skipped a small distance away, enjoying the walk.

Aryuna jumped slightly at the sudden movement, and blinking in the light, finally noticed a womer in the water. So she wasn't a ghost? Aryuna gripped her dagger defensively and didn't take a step closer. "Hark, who goes there?"
Trap sniffled at the water's edge curiously, but didn't go into the lake in case he left his friend and master defenseless on the shore.
Lake Ilinalta | (Aryuna / Verin)
Aryuna approached the water’s edge, and blinked. She couldn’t see anyone. Had the ghost gone invisible, or had she imagined it all? It was very peculiar. She looked around again, frowning. Trap growled, but not aggressively. Aryuna raised her eyebrows. It was at the lowest decibel she could hear. Rumbling, like distant thunder. It meant Trap was confused.
Aryuna cast a stone-flesh spell on herself, letting the magic knit into her clothes and skin to create a second layer of armour. If it came at her suddenly, she would be better protected.
She stood right on edge of the lake, peering ahead. Then she saw it again. A pair of silver eyes. Surely a ghost would attack her or something?

“Oh, sure, I’ll just close shop,” Aryuna said, taking her work apron off and motioning to Trap that they were leaving.
She had passed the mill by accident the other day. It was next to the river, near the sea. They set out of the city into the landscape beyond, but the weather was cloudy, and threatening rain. Aryuna wrapped her fur cloak closer to her body and kept on walking.

Aryuna smiled sweetly, pleased that he had agreed. He was so kind…
“Well… I think there’s an abandoned mill outside the city,” She offered. “We could practice there.”
She washed her hands of onions in the tiny sink at the back and faced him again. “Whenever you’d be willing.” She almost giggled at that.

It’s too late to dive under the water again- she’s spent too much thinking about it and now she’s certain the elf has seen her. Instead, she does her best to hide by darkening her skin tone to match the water surface, rather than the lighter, underwater colour. The water droplets that cover her are enough to mimic the reflective surface, and she stays as still as she can, as not to draw even more attention to herself.
It isn’t that she doesn’t want to talk to the stranger- she’d love to- but it’s the fact that coming out of the water now would probably expose her scales to them, not to mention her blue skin. It would be far too dangerous. The hound beside the elf looks like it could be trouble too. She’s far enough out to see it’s black fur, although she can only just make out its eyes. Whatever the beast is, she doesn’t want to get too close.
