Pliroy Rec List

Hi all! After being in the Yuri!!! On Ice fandom for five months, reading a LOT of fanfic and enjoying a TON of fanart, Pliroy (Jean-Jacques Leroy x Yuri Plisetsky) has emerged as my OTP. I think part of it appeals to me because I'm a Drarry shipper in HP. Apparently I love a little antagonism in my ships. So naturally, I'd like my very first rec list to feature my favorite YOI ship! There isn't a LOT of Pliroy fic out there yet, but I'd like to rec my favorite Pliroy fics on AO3 in no particular order. They are all explicit and none of them include other pairings (I plan on reccing a separate list for Otapliroy, so they won't be included in this list either). Birthday by Phayte: I eat up everything Phayte writes like a thirsty hoe, but I absolutely love this portrayal of the Pliroy ship. It's JJ's birthday and Yuri dresses up for him. They go out to eat and there are a lot of jokes about JJ liking bad wine. Finally, there is some crazy hot sex while JJ is drunk off his ass. This is a pretty quick read and definitely worth it. Milk & Honey by CasualHipster: CasualHipster captures the dynamics between JJ and Yuri SO WELL in this fic. JJ is brash and Yuri insults JJ every chance he gets. AND THE SEX! It's so descriptive, so incredibly well-written! There's some face-fucking and rough sex too, if that's your thing. last flowers by Blownwish: This is ANGSTY AF but it's so beautiful. Blownwish tells stories through some of the best story structures I've ever seen and this is no different. JJ is getting married to Isabella because he knows that's what he's supposed to do, but he can't help but be drawn to Yuri, to love him anyway. It's a short read but sometimes, those are the best. Maybe I Shouldn't Quite Say "Never" by annabeth: Annabeth writes some of the best PWPs I've ever read. The premise of this fic is that Yuri wants to lose his virginity and decides to ask JJ to do it. JJ's characterization is utterly fantastic; he manages to make Yuri pissed off and turned on all at once throughout the entire fic. Their banter in this fic is what really attracted me to this pairing. On Fire Inside a Snowballby BadIdeaBears: I love this fic because it's more than just a PWP. This fic takes us through Yuri trying to convince himself that he doesn't have a crush on JJ. It's a nice take on Pliroy and one I highly recommend if you're looking to get inside Yuri's head a bit. bring on disaster by SkyRose: Okay, technically this is TWO fics, but you can't read one without the other because they're both fantastic. Basically, JJ keeps sending Yuri packages. Sometimes it's a sweatshirt, other times it's sex paraphernalia. The interactions between JJ and Yuri via text are extremely amusing. I absolutely love a cocky JJ, and SkyRose does not disappoint. Take Me Down by Farasha: Yuri slaps JJ and JJ really likes it. This is pretty filthy, and includes a lot of verbal humiliation. I loved every word! royal treatment by choke: Yuri gets a hookup app on his phone and gets matched with JJ. There's a lot of really cute banter in this, and the sex is mind-blowingly hot. Also, I love it when Yuri makes fun of JJ's tramp stamp in any fic, and this one is particularly funny. unadulterated loathing by ceto: This has a sequel, which is also worth the read, but this fic is fucking GOLD. Most of the interaction between JJ and Yuri is through text, which is something I really admire when it's done this well. JJ sends some incredibly hot videos to Yuri, who finally gives in and they have phone sex. Oh My God I Think I Like You by machinewithoutfeelings: This was my very first Pliroy fic that I read and it's still probably my favorite (so much so that I made a podfic of it here. The setup is great: JJ and Yuri have been having casual sex for a very long time, complete with an insane amount of dirty talk, and Yuri realizes that he might have feelings for JJ. Machinewithoutfeelings writes an absolutely fantastic characterization of JJ, where he's not quite as self-assured and confident as he makes himself out to be. Plus, there's a HYSTERICAL scene where Yuuri brings Yuri some soup and catches them having sex in the kitchen. Les bons comptes font les bons souverains by Hearii: I can't do a Pliroy rec list and NOT rec the most popular Explicit Pliroy fic on AO3, okay? This fic is great! JJ starts calling Yuri "Queen" and Yuri HATES it. The story takes the reader through multiple competitions and enough sexual tension to last a lifetime. Eventually, Yuri decides to rub one of his wins in JJ's face and they hook up. It's an incredibly satisfying ending. I'd also like to give props to otapocalypse who isn't featured on this list because I'm not a big fan of trans!Yuri. However, if that's your thing, please check their work out! Also to ChocolateStarFish who writes non-con. Again, not really my thing, but I don't want to just ignore them completely. Both authors are really great! Until next time, ~AshiiBlack
