A damn ghost town…

Hello, survivors. Hasn’t it been a while? 

This was originally meant to be posted as an entry into 2019, a sort of foreboding omen to set the mood in the wake of The Great Un-Porning or whatever the ridiculous new regime is called. The holidays were too busy. I didn’t have time.

Who is left? I know I haven’t been around for a while but it was always important to know there was something to come back to.

To anyone still here-- Get in touch, just to let me know how much of the local community is still intact.

Well, here’s my omen, if there are any eyes left to see it.

I hope there are still people out there.

@ask-the-french-olive Don’t take Whitemeat’s pathological carnivorism personal, if it hasn’t been ripped off the bone is stomach doesn’t want to know...

This was actually one of the very first questions I was asked waaaaay back in magical, mystical 2016 by an artist I respect ((and frankly envy)) quite a lot.

It’s a shame to see the artist in question hasn’t updated the blog in quite some time. I can sympathize, I suppose :3

Why does this post look so different to my more recent work? Well, it’s almost as old as the ask itself, predates a lot of the aesthetic adjustments along the blog’s development. I liked it, but unfortunately I never got it to come out right. In lieu of more recent work before the beginning of the arc, I thought it was about time I dusted it off and popped it out there. 

Sort of nostalgic, really.

To the MOD of @ask-the-french-olive, if you’re still out there... hope you’re doing well.

Another simplistic reply i’m afraid, the bulk of my attention is focused on finishing the storyboard. 

It’s still slow going. Bloody denouement has more conclusions than What You Leave Behind and Return of the King combined! LORDY!

And just where the bloody hell have I been?

A fair question, and one I just know has been the talk of the town these last few absent months.

Nahh i’m just foxin’ with ya, I know tumblr has a short memory. But I have been away for very long time, and I think an explanation is owed.

To break the issue down concisely: Story arc. But a story adhering to a planned and structured framework before I even set pixel to program.

If I was a smarter man I would have concluded the blog with something simple and clean like I did like Shock-Collar so I could move on with my life.

But it turns out that i’m a fool, and a sentimental one at that. Behold the evidence of my sentimental foolishness:

A bit overblown for tumblr, perhaps. But the time invested, though considerable, has been most valuable. Now I know when to duck, dodge, dive, dip and dodge. Narratively.

@askinsanejack​ you’ve been exemplary in your patience. As you can see, the frame is almost complete. Then I can begin to hang it.

I’ll be back soon. Properly back, I mean. It’s been an odd year. Best of times, worst of times.

Postmodnote: what with working on the storyboard for the final arc and various other distractions, time has been much in demand and postings few and far between.

To help overcome this deficiency, I’m going to be filling the void with smaller, single panel answers to keep the spirit alive while I finish the preparations for the arc. Watch this space!

And by space i mean blog, innit :3
