Pokefoxes: What fox they are?

Lets start in chronological order

Vulpix

Fox: Red fox (kitsune)

Reddish colors, white belly, fluffy tail(s), dark limbs, medium length ears. The “classic” and most popular fox species is the perfect look to base your first fox of the series.

Fox: Arctic fox (kitsune)

The perfect complement to Vulpix’s red fox. Red and arctic foxes are some of the most popular fox species, although it shows darker limbs like the red foxes. Fire-ice opposites.

Ninetales

Fox: Kitsune 

Although cream-orange fox exist with darker tail tips (Kit fox, a Northern American species), Ninetales is a direct reference and totally inspired by kitsunes, the Japanese word for fox. 

Stories depict legendary foxes as intelligent beings and as possessing paranormal abilities that increase with their age and wisdom. 

The more tails a kitsune has – they may have as many as nine – the older, wiser, and more powerful it is. (Proto-Vulpix 3 tails vs Vulpix’s 6 vs Ninetales 9).

After reaching 1,000 years of age and gaining its ninth tail, a kitsune turns a white or golden color, becoming a tenko (‘heavenly/celestial fox’), the most powerful form of the kitsune, and then ascends to the heavens.

Fox: Arctic fox (kitsune)

They continue with their reversing of themes, now the limbs and tail tips are pale, one of the most popular colors for kitsunes is white.

         “Galar does seem rather nice, although they’ve taken the whole ‘battling’ thing to a different level. Making it some national tournament as oppose to just having gyms around and one central place for people to shoot for... Some of the other regions are more casual about it in my opinion.”

He had seen the gyms and other stuff in Kanto and Johto, and not having a set day or time period for trainers to rush for did seem more casual to him. Putting their elite four up in a mountain also, to him, made it less likely for someone to want to make the trek up there.

         “Sure, i’ve been to Kanto, Johto, and southern Galar. . Where have you two been to? I’ve been looking for other places to visit. I know there are nice tourist traps around, but first-hand accounts tend to be better than a brochure.”

He wondered if that would have been too much info, but eh, he hadn’t said how long she’d been in her current dwelling or how long it took to get his parent’s trust, so there wasn’t really a way to track the place down based on that time frame. He also hadn’t said how long he’d been traveling for.. although they could probably find it with teacher records.. So many factors, but he’d help deal with it if they proved to be trouble.

“As many lands as I can tread upon.” He offers a smile in pride at that. “I seek knowledge as well as the truths and ideals of what people who are willing to talk to me about have to offer.” That being said, this land was probably one of the most peaceful. Sure, there was the Max Den and the like, but… this southern part of Galar didn’t see many battles – just wild pokemon and humans who were elderly, or young couples seeking to start anew, co-existing and living alongside one another. “This land, I can say, is probably the most peaceful.”

It certainly was an interesting turn of events, basically living with her while his parents did their own thing. Mostly he figured they were just trying to not get caught by trainers, and now they just look after ole granny from the forest. Silent guards basically. They were of course fine with his choices, if they’d had the opportunity to travel like he did, they would’ve taken it.

That was certainly now how most Zoroark acted, which meant that the pack there must be comfortable with her presence enough to trust her being they usually left up an illusion to be left in peace… or at least Amethyst and Miasma had informed him long ago. “A grandmother is still good.” At least he had someone to look out for him – even if this person was human. “May I inquire to what places you have travelled too besides this one and the place you hail from?”

[ Sinnoh just keeps popping up. ] Amethyst sighs and moves to rub her temples. So far they had met several people who were from Sinnoh or had travelled through it. Both her and her brother had been through the region with Reshiram already seeking knowledge, but… well… They weren’t looking to go back anytime soon. “… I see. She is quite the woman to teach you such things.” He had to learn mostly by himself – Ian, that was, but he had Amethyst and Miasma to teach him if he faltered now. His mother… His mother had been the one to teach him most of what he knew.

“Is this woman that you are close too… Is she like a mother to you?”

Tenebris would glance to his partner before looking back to the other pair. He was kinda hesitant but as long as he didn’t reveal too much, if they were some pair of hunters, they couldn’t find their way to her.

         “She’s not really my trainer, but she was partially a trainer at one point.. She was a teacher at a pokemon school. I met her after she retired, and I do like to return to her dwelling from time to time. I won’t tell you her name or where though, I only just met you.”

“If you do not wish to reveal her name, then that is fine. I was merely curious so people do not try and restrain you against your will.” That being said, he hoped this old woman was a good person. “You mentioned a Pokemon School… Is she from the Alola region?” That was his primary residence, having forsaken Unova to live on an island with his brother-in-arms and help him with his life project of helping the Absols live a peaceful life.

Well, that was an easy enough explanation.. But still, Tenebris preferred to be on the side of caution. Even if the old people here were fine, they did just ask him if he was here to see some kind of tundra, so there could be other tourists passing through.

         “It isn’t really the old people I worry about, more along the lines of some random traveler like myself. You did just ask me if I was here to see something after all.”

The litwick would move a bit, then hop from the table to Tenebris’ shoulder. It was smaller than an average litwick so it had no trouble sitting on his shoulder, or even on top of his head. Since they were being so open, he decided to ask the other shiny pokemon.

        “Do you have a pokeball stashed somewhere too, so no one tries to chuck one at you?”

N was quiet, glancing at Amethyst as she responded, sitting there much like a canine might in the snow. [ I do, but I see no reason to hide within it when I can hide within my own illusion. ] It was the man, N’s, illusion, but she was going to take the blame for him here. She didn’t want to arouse suspicion within this Zoroark and his Litwick friend just yet.

“Do you have a trainer you answer too, or are you merely traveling with your little friend here?” N inquired, tilting his head.

         “You certainly are fast with your questions, let’s handle them in order. I like a nice hot coffee in the evening, outside a cafe is nice at this hour. I handle myself well during the night, not really a day person. And we like to travel, so sure, we’ll see what there is to see.”

         Sitting at a table outside of a cafe, a man with a red hoodie and black hair would be enjoying the day. On the table next to him would be a shiny Litwick, and the two did have some drinks next to them, but those seemed to be ignored as the pair watched people go by, quietly making jokes to themselves about fashion or a person’s walking pace.

         The only non-joke comment would probably end up being to the person who just sat at a nearby table.

        “Hey, we’re from out of town. Got any advice on what there is to see and do?”

how to start an ask blog... will people be open to a text-based ask blog? .. Well, i’m not out here to be popular, just to have some fun. Let’s see how this goes.
