Petti barely got to manage a gasp of surprise from the lift before the kiss struck; those lips were even softer than he remembered… Dizzied and seeing almost stars as he was set down, he quickly shook his head to come back to earth.

“I-I… ah…m-mm. Hm. I m-missed you t-too, J-J-Jones!!” was all he could muster. Wow.

He gave a surprised blink at the sudden visitor, but came to smile through his teeth when he recognized the girl.

"H-hello in return, f-friend. I've been holding out the best I c-can," he pulls a hand down his long hair as he thought of what the last few months had been like. "A good lot of t-travel I've m-managed! It keeps e-even someone like me b-busy, ha-haha."

((Long time no see for art, I know I know... Trying to work on a revamp for Petti's base appearance to make him feel 'newer' and easier to draw again. I'm taking bits from his first version that never made it to this blog (back when he was shipped with Doc Q. think about that) and digging it a little more this time around))

He looked taken aback more by the sudden yelling than anything before it sat in. 

"I m-mean.. I'm sure it's from the o-old days, same as I. As m-much as I wish I could re-rekindle that past, I c-can't just pack up and go home after all the w-world has offered me... I know he couldn't truly understand my point of v-view."

"...", It suddenly hit him like a bag of bricks. Duh. Hody's on the island. "M-My point still s-stands, should I ever get a-around to seeing him and he isn't u-upset...", he flustered heavily and looked off, embarrassed that in his train of thought he made a fool of himself.

You once said that you have a crush on hody jones, right? Why don't you walk up to him and ask him out? He seems to have the same interest in you than you have in him

"Y-You certainly aren't wrong, but... I suppose it's wh-what most would call 'complicated'. It feels l-like it's always been this way even when we were y-young. 

That said, I wouldn't m-mind treating him to d-dinner some time, sh-should he allow it. I'm not sure wh-where he is now..."

He raised his brows at the question before rubbing at his neck, somewhat confused on how best to reply."I'm p-personally happy that ANYONE w-would pay someone like myself any m-mind... I'm not terribly picky with w-who comes to visit so long as they have a d-decent intention; no one that would u-upset the neighbors, you know?"

Hugo: Oh!! It's nice to see another fishman off the island! How's the world treating you, dear?

"Ah, l-likewise!" Petti looked up from his current garden work to get a good look at the voice and raised a brow in surprise at the several arms they were sporting, hoping he didn't look too judgemental. It had simply been some years since he'd seen that kind of fishman!"I'd s-say it's a lot better than it could b-be, all things considered," he chuckled nervously. "And as for y-yourself?"

"Ah hey! You a fishman, right? Hard to find you guys out and about these days, ya know? Nice ta meet ya, kid! Call me Shark!" The man smiles, holding a hand out to him. (@ask-mochi-and-shark)

Petti truly wasn't sure what to take in first; the man's long wild hair threatening to tangle with his own, or the incredibly pointy carnivorous teeth filling his smile. He certainly didn't need to be told that Shark was a fellow fishman."A-Ah! A p-pleasure to meet you as well, sir-- Uh, S-Shark!", he managed to sputter out before grasping the hand in a quick shake. "I am P-Petti, I can't say I see all too many in this area m-myself.."

"Petti, you have been on the surface right? What was the prettiest place there?"

He gave a quick blink and tilted his head slightly, trying to think. "Y-yes, I do live on l-land currently... As f-for pretty places, nearly everywhere I've been h-has its charms. The Drum Kingdom was especially b-beautiful, even if I almost froze to d-death." Petti gave a sheepish smile and looked down at the memory. "Guess I a-am more suited for the tropics..."
