Does Macaque ever become immobilized because of his enhanced hearing? Such as in loud thunderstorms or if a sound based demon attacked the group and shrieked at him? I’d think the team would be rather worried to find him catatonic.

(also ask to the creator/owner of the blog: what technique did you use to be able to do OSP's artstyle cause if I didn't see your warning I would have thought you ARE the artist for OSP 😭)

In regards to a ‘technique’ I mostly just found an expression/ pose of something Red already made, and then added a few tweaks to suit what I wanted to make.

Other than that colored linework with an ink brush, gradients, and exaggerated poses on a chibi base does the trick!

Hello all!

First and foremost I would like to apologize for my impromptu hiatus. There was no specific reason for it other than me finding new interests and growing burnt out of making content for this blog.

That said it currently stands as my most successful account! And after a full year of radio silence I still get questions and queries asking about my little silly AU. Which is honestly very touching and I cannot thank you guys enough for all the support <3

As such I wanna reward you all for your patience with a Mass Q&A to respond to old questions, and answer some new ones!

I will be making as much responses as possible ^^ but know that content from here on will be sporadic. I may have a burst of inspiration or nostalgia but I won’t be forcing myself to maintain a schedule.

I still very much love JTTW tho, so besides asks you are also free to share your own thoughts as well!

Now that your back may I ask if you headcanon Macaque as aroace if your comfortable with that

Simple answer: no

Complex answer: yes!!

It depends on which version of the six eared macaque I am conveying. But for the spared!au I try to remain as close to canon as possible while adding my own flare for a taste of something new.

There is no evident sexuality for either of the monkeys. So in regards to this ask blog—- maybe?

Being both aromantic and asexual is a spectrum, as an ace I can say the experience is different for everyone. So even if I was to say yes, I cannot properly describe my own interpretation for macaque lol

I have a love hate relationship with c.ai, as an avid role player for years it was kinda impressive to see all my favs automated by a computer

However I think rp would be far more fulfilling with an actual person.

Either way, I don’t mind! Just be mindful of the fact that this version of Macaque may not be entirely genuine on a chat site!

[MUN- Hello all! As you can tell I am trying something new. From now on the storyline from before will be referenced as a ‘past event’ and the present is where asks will take place! Thank you all for patiently waiting]

ITS BEEN SO LONG!!!

If you didn’t know, I have been on an impromptu hiatus for a little less than a year now. It started out as me extending my comic dates and ended up being a massive break.

Despite this, many of you still waited for me! Giving me frequent asks and commenting on my posts, which I am endlessly thankful for.

I would be lying if I said there was a specific reason behind my disappearance, but it wasn’t for nothing!

I was getting more and more discouraged with my own work. Although pretty easy to do, I didn’t feel confident in my ability to stay true to the book and its characters. A lot of JTTW is interpretational, so I failed to understand certain nuisances present without cultural context.

So in my break I took the time to actually work on getting more involved with the culture!

I decided to take a Chinese Language course! Then with the encouragement of my professor, joined their Chinese club. Many of my assignments involved cultural engagement, which I also attended to make some new friends.

Eventually my professor recommended me for a scholarship opportunity, which takes place in Shanghai! (上海）

I will be going in June

Hello! Yes indeed I’ve decided to take a little bit of a break! So I am completely fine. Thank you for your concern

But have no fear! I’ve not forgotten about this beloved blog of mine.

It’s the largest I have on tumblr, which I have OverlySarcasticProductions’ Red to thank, as the familiarity of her artsyle has attracted a lot of you to my Spared!Macaque. However, because of this I don’t pay as much attention to it as I do for my other projects, I tend to leave it be until I manage to finish my other works.

Why? Well, the main reason being that I don’t want to take the attention away from Red’s current works. I never directly asked them if I could use her art to make this blog, and so there’s some personal discomfort as an artist to utilize a style that isn’t mine.

I appreciate all the support regardless, as I never expected to garner this much attention! But also I recognize that I’m not being original. So unless Red pms me to shut my blog down then it remains a side project ^^
