I just wanted to say that I really really love Azureon and I want it to be real so badly. Also are they going to show up in asktheminees or are the minees themselves the only fakemon you want to put in the blog?

this I’m still deciding!! I’m mainly designing fakemon because of the region mentioned on AskShinyVaporeon

this was kind of a thing on a whim and I decided the minees and all my fakemon are going to originate from that region [though this blog is not set in that region]

Real talk tho I’m so happy with how well received the minees have been p much everywhere quq

I never would’ve imagined they’d be where they are today. if you told me this 5 years ago as I was drawing them I would’ve been like “wow you have more faith in me than I do myself lol”

for those who don’t know, I made the minees as a prompt. I was in an eeveelution group on deviantart and every month they held an art contest. One month’s challenge was ‘what if eevee didn’t exist’ and we had to make pre-evolutions for the eeveelutions. We didn’t have to do all of them if we didn’t want to but, I decided why not ‘cause designing is fun

I won first place in the contest and that first piece of art I’ve done for them quickly became my most popular deviation

fast forward 2 years, the minees picture was still gaining faves and comments, I was sick with Mono and had a semester off of school. I had been debating on starting an ask blog for a while because an old friend of mine from iscribble had one and the gijinka blogs weren’t getting much traction. 

On a whim I decided to start with the minees. I figured “well if everyone on deviantart likes them, people on tumblr might like them too?” I was apprehensive at first because they’re fakemon and honestly before coming to the askblog community, the other pokemon communities I was involved in were full of a lot of elitists [I was a huge jerk back then too]

I’m really happy that wasn’t the case here and never would’ve thought I’d hit 2.5 thousand followers that’s so crazy to me! not only that but everyone wanted to make their own minee too! I had them a closed species at first while I fleshed them out more but I’m so glad I opened them up for use. seeing others make their own and even including them with their fake eeveelutions is just mindblowing to me.

Thank you everyone for your support over the years. You’ve made me love running this blog more than I ever could’ve imagined, community members both old and new.

Brooke: He only just hatched today, so he hasn’t really had much time to explore his powers yet. I’ve decided to call him Romeo.

I’ll give it a month or two before I start teaching him.
