SUMMER DEPRESSION THERES SO MUCH TIME TO QUESTION MY LIFE

hi! i thought i’d share a poem i wrote today. i’m quite proud of it.

“somewhere, a rich girl

will clutch daddy’s money

and wipe her tears

with dollar bills

and yelling out to daddy

after finding out

his business failed

and went bankrupt.

someone will always have it

worse, she’s told.

somewhere, a poor girl

will cry in bed,

knowing that her parents

are struggling with money

after working two jobs

and twelve hour shifts.

she will weep into her pillow

knowing she isn’t old enough

to help.

someone will always have it

worse, she’s told.

somewhere, a homeless girl

will cry on the streets

with her mother,

knowing she’ll be taken

away from her.

she’ll run up

to unassuming strangers

begging for money

so she won’t have to worry

about her next meal.

someone will always have it

worse, she’s told.

somewhere, an orphan girl

in a third world country

will cry,

looking at her destroyed home.

it is desolate.

only rubble left.

someone would tell her others have it

worse, but theres no one left to tell her.”

those girls will never understand their individual struggles, and each girl will wish to be the next under them, to know what suffering is actually like. a gruesome chain. each girl will fantasize about different situations instead of truly living through their own tragedies begging for an envisionment of what others struggle with.

what’d make it absolutely perfect is if it was just light enough for the moon to peek through, but it still thunders and the wind still whips. you’re wrapped up like a burrito in a thick, fuzzy blanket topped with a weighted blanket and a body pillow to hug

a concept: heavy rainfall when you’re tucked up in bed. like if u agree.
