"the answer phone sounds like it's giving you a great response". Astrid new she'd find herself in trouble if she were to speak to Nova this way, though she had less fear when it came to Celeste, the blonde had a caring heart and was less likely to punish.

"But since Nova's attendance is lacking I suggest we postpone. You and I know she likes to have her hands and nose all up in my research herself, and your pass the parcel information will likely not suffice"

She paused, knowing Astrid was probably right. Ugh.

"November if you are out GALLAVANTING around with that walking headache named Damon I swear I will retrieve you by the scruff and drag you home in front of all of your friends. Get. Here. Now."

"Right. Now. Who would like to start?"

"she won't answer you. When does she ever when it's council meeting time, I bet she's out flaunting with the dark haired one" The one that was leading her further astray, not that their alpha needed much help with that. "why be on time if Nova's not even here?"

"Always prepared and yet never prepared to be on time." She calling Nova now, it's why shes twice as irritated as a moment ago. "Whether or not she shows up, we can still address some of these issues without her. Gods above November if you do not pick up this PHONE."

"And if I was not to have it and we were to need something then who would be regretting their choices?" probably still just Astrid. "is she even coming or will this be another wasted evening?"

"I hardly think you need to pack up youre entire library each meeting, but seeing as how you've still managed to show up before November, I suppose I can cut you some slack." Honestly it was a toss up if Nova would even show at all....Schrodinger's Alpha.

"very funny Celeste, it's hardly my fault I have so much to bring to each council meeting that I run a little late sometimes" and yes, coffee was an essential.

"I told November we should start telling you arrival time is two hours ahead of when it actually is. Perhaps you would be on time then."

Astrid was intuitive, her first impressions of the Mikaelson child were of a glowing standard, "I'm sure that there could be nothing bad to say". Rebekah sent pictures every so often, more so when the girl was a lot younger. Often sparking memories with Astrid from her very young child hood. Playing with Rebekah in the woods and helping her fetch flowers. "I hear a lot in passing, the wars that take place around the state. Connections and all, I have eyes everywhere" The vampire smiled, "maybe you could do the honours of showing me around, If your parents agree"

Ally couldn't help but looked surprised at Astrid's answer, for that is enough time for cities to completely change themselves. "That is indeed a long time and yes, though it was only for a week with my parents for the Christmas holidays." It's definitely a city that she would like to go back to one day. "Well, I hope it was only good things they told you about me and nothing too embarrassing." She smiles. "And yes I believe NOLA has been stablisied again for now. My family, especially my parents, did their best to try and keep me sheltered from it as much as possible." @astrid-summer-child

Jeremy's face was buried in the back of her neck, their bodies still intertwined from where they'd drifted off late the night before. The sun hadn't yet peeked over the horizon, though the room was lit in a light shade of blue now, foreshadowing the morning still to come. The werepup approached consciousness slowly, almost pleasantly so, first aware of her scent that seemed to be all around. Warm and inviting. Then it was the sensation of her back pressed to his chest, the curve of her ass against his groin, the softness of her belly under his arm.

He shifted, his nose sliding gently from her hair to rest on top of her shoulder, breathing her in and pulling her closer without even noticing the slight chill in the room. Eyelids not yet open, Jeremy slid his fingers over her stomach, up along her ribs, and back down again. Goosebumps raced after him and he could feel the raised skin on the return journey. His mouth formed a sleepy smile against the back of her shoulder, then he kissed her softly.

Astrid shifted then and he knew she had woken up, Jeremy's chest rumbled with contentment and he finally opened his eyes. Apparently he had been plenty warm enough for the both of them, because there was no blanket to hide her away. Their first time had been in mostly darkness, a hurried frenzy long overdue. Now as he moved, his lips trailed over her shoulder and the outside of her arm as she smiled and rolled to her back. Cupping his face and bringing him in for a sweet kiss. The werepup's hand refused to stay still, gently and softly loving every inch of her she was giving him. Nothing untoward first thing in the morning though he was technically ready along with the rise of the sun but he stopped with curiosity as his finger tips found an expanse of skin that was not like the rest. Raised every so slightly enough for him to stop, he wanted to look, but her hands tightened on his face and then his eyes met hers. A question in them.

The near ancient vampire looking so very young as she bit her lip, eyes glancing downward and then back at his, the empath in his sought to place the emotion. Fear? Anxiety? His brows furrowed and finally she let him go long enough. It was a birthmark on the inside of her hip, nestled right in the hollow, nothing more. Jeremy gave her a crooked little smile and shook his head, before leaning down to press his lips to her skin again. Slowly and carefully his kisses trailed downward until he found the mark. Another rumble in his chest and a smile when he kissed her insecurity.

Every single part of her was beautiful.

"I'm not going to lie to him any longer, when I go back to school after this break, I'll be honest with him" Astrid sighed. "This is my life just as much as everyone else's. If Klaus needs Jeremy for something i'd rather not be a part of it"

Using Elijah as a pawn to get to her emotions was something cunningly planned by Niklaus, to give her this guilt that she'd be letting him down if she didn't take part.

"I just hope that he still wants to see me afterwards"

"Darling girl you are not asking him to remain caged, should that be your issue, it is just as effective for YOU to be the one in the cage. You only need the bars between you, it doesn't matter which side you stand on.

You must learn, when if comes to matters of the heart there are battles that only you can fight. Getting family involved makes things messy and risks a lot." She would know better than anyone- she's a Mikaelson.

"This is something you must do. This is your fight, Astrid. Your battle on the field of love, not either of your uncles."

"rippered as in? you put the body back together" Astrid knew of the Jack the Ripper case, she was only know putting those pieces together. "vampires really do that?". That was the last thing on her mind after feeding, but she hadn't drained a whole person in a very long time. "but the blood is weaker? even if you're full". Astrid had a lot of questions- as always. Something Emma would come to learn, Astrid was always gathering information.

Astrid couldn't help the feeling in her heart when Emma smiled back and was happy for the brunette to meet her sister, Caroline sounded like she'd been a vampire a little longer than Emma herself, but they were both still babies. "I'm glad we're the same you know.. that you're not afraid of me" a shy smile. Astrid wasn't scary but the label vampire was enough to frighten anyone off.

"are you finished? we could get going- you can show me you deer hunting skills"

Emma nodded, eagerly taking in every bit of advice that her companion had to share. "Yeah, I did," she murmured, sitting back awkwardly in the booth. "I didn't mean to; I don't think I technically ripped him, but still... It was a lot to take in for my first time. I think it was more of a preventative measure than anything else to have me try and live the vegetarian life, so to speak." The vampire chuckled at the brunette's next question, tilting her head in acknowledgement of the truth behind her statement. "Deer are definitely more filling; it takes a fair amount of squirrels to do the trick."

At Astrid's next statement, Emma couldn't hide the shy smile that spread across her lips. The baby vampire was known to project an air of confidence, but to be called pretty by someone so beautiful had her giggling nervously as she took another bite of her food. "I'd love for you to meet her," she smiled, already anticipating the teasing she would get from Caroline once she caught wind of how smitten her little sister was with this girl.

"It is a relief, honestly. It's easier to have a support system when there's a lot of people who are like you, rather than afraid of you."

"not all vampires are rippers" but clearly someone Emma knew was, probably Stefan if he was the one with a control issue. "so you killed your first feed? that must've been pretty traumatic? I have to say it though, it happens to us all at least once, learning moderation is when you start to learn how not to drain a person". It was a strange conversation, teaching another vampire how to eat. "there can't be much blood in a squirrel, how long does it take for you to feel full?" has Emma ever had that full feeling, other than the first day of feeding, which didn't entirely count.

"maybe i'll have to meet her one day, you have me wondering whether she's as pretty as you, she sure sounds like a beautiful person on the inside" Astrid teased and sucked on her straw. "I think i'm a little relieved to know that this is a townful of people like us" being alone was something every vampire would come to know at certain points in their life, but it didn't have to be constant.

"I think for Stefan it's a self control thing...? That's sort of how he explained it to me, anyway. I just don't think anyone wanted me to go down the ripper road, you know?" The blonde shrugged, taking another sip of her milkshake. "I doubt I can personally take it much longer, but I had to at least try. Caroline saw how messed up I was after my first feed; I assume she probably talked to him, because the next day I was having my first broody Salvatore vampire heart to heart and learning how to catch squirrels and all that." She ended on a quiet giggle, not wanting to make the vibe too heavy between them.

"Yeah, she is," Emma smiled, a melancholy twinkle in her eyes as she considered. The littlest Forbes was thrilled that she and her sister would be best friends quite literally forever, but the fact that either of them had to turn in the first place filled her heart with a deep sadness and a twinge of anger whenever she sat too long with it.

"She's my best friend. I don't think I could have made it this far in life or death without her."

"It's been a lot longer than I would have liked, over fifty years at the very least. If I am to reside alone, New York is often my city of choice. Have you ever been?" New York had connections, and Astrid had her own laboratory there. It was a safe environment for her to complete her studies without interruption. "It's nice to meet you, I've heard about you from Elijah and of course Rebekah. I know there has been a lot of ups and downs in your life Ally, but as it seems now, I believe Nola has stabilised enough"

"I see...So when were you last here?" She asks the older vampire, wanting to get an idea, so she can recommend good sites to see and great food to eat. "It's great to meet you too, though I must confess, I do not know much about you."

Is Nova a professor at Nevermore?

"No, as far as I'm aware Nova has no dealings with the nevermore academy, at least not during my own attendance"

"you're coming across as though you'd like me to have after patrol fun with her regardless" Astrid could remain neutral when discussing Cassie and her feelings towards her, but when it came to her other behaviours that's when Astrid started to get annoyed. She'd seen Cassie behave in different, softer and kinder ways. The mean girl act didn't do anything good for her status, it only in fact made her seem more ridiculous in front of Nova, which in turn gave Astrid anxiety for ever trying to praise her friend.

"come on Nova please, I promise it will be for my records only" she wanted to do some deep digger, and comparisons to Celeste's blood samples. "plus I think you'd take it like a champ, I'm better than any human doctor" and it would give the lost girl a perfect example of why Astrid could be trusted.

"There's always after patrol." Honestly, back in the day Nova had also done the sex on patrol thing. Kinda a slacker at one point, got her in a lot of trouble though so it was very short lived. Laz did not take kindly to her enjoying life in any concept of the word.

"True, and don't you forget it." As if they could. If it wasnt Nova broadcasting her status it was her overly proud handler right hand Celeste. That woman could probably write a book of praises just for her little November. TO be fair, absolutely NO ONE knew Nova better.

"I might humor you, but I know you've been after a blood sample from me for ages, it'd be like the end of an era." Nova was an interesting specimen. She was an original, which made her stronger than your average vampire, but she was also stronger than your average original. Which was something that had always drawn Astrids curiosity. What made Nova special like that?

What had granted Nova the strength to liberate herself and Celeste from the shackels of Laz's tyrany? Was it rage purely? Or something deeper? Something on a DNA level? Well Astrid wouldnt KNOW because Nova refused to give her any samples.

"human blood is much more rich I find, you just cannot beat it I'm afraid. A weird sentence to any one who wasn't a vampire. "is there a reason for these rules or is it just some kind of vampire save the population kind of thing?". Astrid couldn't get behind not feeding on human blood. Animal blood tasted so dull, and didn't give the same rush as the other.

"your sister, is she.. one of us" a much quieter tone as Astrid finished that sentence. Even though it seemed the vampires Emma had surrounding her had some strange beliefs, she was glad the young blonde had a support system that knew what they were dealing with.

"I can only imagine," Emma laughed softly as she took a sip of her milkshake. The Mikaelsons were an intimidating family from the outside; she couldn't imagine what it must be like within the walls of their home.

It saddened the young vampire, the melancholy undertone of Astrid's voice as she mentioned how lonely it was to live a life unable to be her true self. Emma was relieved and honored to be able to provide even the smallest amount of comfort to the sweet, beautiful girl.

"Stefan says no human blood whatsoever, but honestly I'm not sure how much longer I can last," the blonde giggled, staring at her burger in distaste. "I respect what he's trying to do; I don't ever want to lose control like that again... I just hate how much weaker I am than everyone else. I've wanted to make the switch for a while now, but... I don't want to disappoint him. Or my sister, Caroline."
