Did a little art exchange with my dear friend @wikioodl

We decided to draw each other's current old men ship so I did Auron and Jecht fron Final Fantasy X!! So yknow I hope all u Jechton enjoyers like it (I know nothing about final fantasy I'm afraid)

While Jecht would like to call himself a womanizer, that does not help him woo Auron

(At least in part because Auron already knows all those tricks. Heck, he taught Jecht some of them!)

Jecht gets increasingly frustrated, until he straight-up asks Auron what he’s supposed to do to get with him

“How about you just ask?”

Cue Jecht having a big “????” moment. Followed by him very awkwardly asking Auron out on a date - He knows how to hit on people and how to flirt, but he’s not too good at cute romance-y stuff

Auron agrees, of course; he’s liked Jecht for a while, it was just kind of amusing to watch Jecht try wooing him

Plus, well, Auron likes Jecht because in the end, he’s got a good heart. He can be a jerk, yes, but there’s a hidden heart of gold in there

Jecht has messed up one long-term relationship already, and he’s determined to not screw this one up

(And he’s matured quite a bit during the pilgrimage, anyway)

Jecht and Auron have been friends for a while before they started dating, to they both knew right from the start what they were getting into

And there’s none of that beginning awkwardness between them; they can completely skip the whole getting to know each other step

It also helps them a lot at communicating; Auron knows stuff works best if he tells Jecht directly what he wants to tell him, and Jecht knows that Auron keeping his cool doesn’t mean he’s not excited or happy

They love teasing each other though, and they have plenty of material

Jecht likes to ask Auron for Grand Speeches at random times, to poke a little fun at his flair for the Dramatic™

Auron happily obliges, and adds as many roasts directed at Jecht into the speeches as possible

Jecht writes down his favorites. He’s lowkey hoping that Auron at some point runs out of ideas and use something a second time. Auron never does.

While they like to tease each other, they’re pretty protective if someone else tries

Of course they don’t mind some friendly teasing, but as soon as someone ends up actually mean? They’ll be verbally obliterated

Note they’ll do so without glossing over the flaws they do have. Sure, Auron and Jecht both mess up at times; they’re human. It happens. But they will then list a million reasons why the other one’s an amazing person anyway.
