Models equipped with a 25t designation make use of a turbocharged four-cylinder engine developing 247 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque, while the 30t badged models see a re-tune of the same engine yielding 296 hp and 295 lb-ft. The 30t is the pick of the four-bangers, with a greater sense of urgency accompanying throttle inputs. The Engine

Speaking about the engine, the Kia Optima Hybrid is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with primary outputs of 154 hp and 140 lb-ft. The Optima Hybrid has an integrated permanent magnet synchronous electric motor that generates an additional 51 hp and 151 lb-ft bringing total potential to 192 hp and 271 lb-ft. The motor is slightly more powerful in the PHEV producing additional outputs of 67 hp and 151 lb-ft, bringing total outputs to 202 hp and 276 lb-ft. Both models feature a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel-drive. Acceleration off-the-line is met with instantaneous torque for a quick surge of forwarding thrust. From there power delivery is gradual and suited to the laidback nature of this segment. Shifts are smooth and efficient, and the auto ‘box manages power far more naturally than the CVT configuration most manufacturers resort to with hybrid variants, while throttle responses remain suitable for everyday drivability.

The New 2020 Seltos has a cabin that incorporates elegant shapes and advanced tech such as a large infotainment system featuring a 10.25-inch touchscreen. Some optional features typically found on more expensive vehicles is an 8.0-inch head-up display and a premium eight-speaker Bose audio system.

There’s also the optional Sound Mood Lighting system, which has become a favorite feature for many Kia Soul owners, for example. What this system does is emit a soft light from door panels. This also creates a 3D-patterned surface on those panels. The system then synchronizes to the beat of the chosen music playing through the audio system. A total of eight customizable colors and six themes illuminate the cabin. Is this kind of gimmicky? Perhaps, but the system really does work well and helps to create a softer mood, something that comes in handy on extended road trips.

Engine System

Speaking about the engine, The New 2020 Seltos will come with a standard 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder rated at 147 hp. An optional 1.6-liter T-GDI turbocharged four-cylinder with 175 hp will cost extra. Overseas markets, specifically Europe, are also set to have a 1.6-liter diesel engine option, with a total of 134 hp.

Pricing

Sadly in this time no official pricing info yet, But the Kia Seltos shares a platform and various other mechanical bits with the Hyundai Venue, that means we can estimate the Seltos will carry a starting price of around $17,000. This will top off in the mid-$20,000 range.

Hyundai says it wants to take a “chess piece” approach to design with each model having its own unique characteristics. The 2020 Venue does bear some resemblance to the larger Kona but it looks far less polarizing. Buyers will have a choice of eight exterior colors (with or without a contrasting roof).

Dimensionally, the new Hyundai Venue is smaller than the Kona in every measurement except height and its 99.2-inch wheelbase is identical to the Ford EcoSport (though the overall length is an inch longer). We think the design is among the most attractive in the subcompact segment.

Inside the car, the 2020 Venue’s theme of upscale on a budget continues with a well-appointed cabin. Base models include either black or grey cloth but the higher trim model (shown here) includes optional indigo-blue with denim upholstery with leatherette. The cabin also includes several handy storage areas including one ahead of the shifter and one in front of the passenger.

Outback, the Venue offers 60/40 split rear seats with 18.7 cubic feet of storage with the rear seats up and 31.9 cubic feet with the seats folded.

The 2020 Venue will only have one engine option, a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder. If it is the same tune found in the 2020 Accent, the Venue should produce 121 horsepower going out to the front wheels only (all-wheel-drive isn’t available) through either a six-speed manual or continuously variable transmission. Expect fuel economy to sit at around 33mpg combined, which is tied with the frugal Nissan Kicks.

To save costs, consumer-spec Voyager models will not include Chrysler’s handy Stow ‘n’ Go seats but they will be available on the fleet-only LXi trim, which also adds leatherette seats, remote start, a roof rack, second-row sunshades, an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

The Engine

For the engine system, The 2020 Voyager is powered by Chrysler’s 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 producing 287 horsepower going out to the front wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy should be the same as the outgoing Pacifica L, which was rated at 18-mpg in the city and 28-mpg on the highway.
