shifting and the artistic process

(and why your favorite movie has always existed)

i think shifting and the artistic process run parallel to one another, and that’s why so many of us feel called to shift into our favorite pieces of media.

i sincerely believe that stories and ideas are crafted from an individual (or a group) tapping into the truth of another world. that’s why we have artistic synchronicities/multiple discovery.

for example, anyone shifting to hogwarts is NOT shifting into the mind or invention of jkr. they are just visiting the place that visited her. so many antis use fictionality as their proof, but news flash!! that doesn’t matter.

of course there’s dedication and work that comes with the artistic process and the act of stewarding an idea, but i truly believe that every idea exists outside of the individual. if they don’t write it, act it, direct it, edit it… another person will.

i’m saying this as a writer and filmmaker, as someone who has been involved in the nitty gritty of production. as someone who has directed actors and heard applause and labored over the details.

it’s all coming from somewhere else.

When I heard that one voiced line where Zelda talks about the face Link made when she took a third plate of fruitcake, I knew I had to draw it XD

Translation of the voiced memory (I translated from French, so it may not be one on one with the official English translation) :

"The dining hall. The seat in front of the fireplace was my father's favorite. Link always waited at the entrance of the room until I had finished eating... I remember seeing the face he made when I asked a 3rd plate of fruitcake... I still laugh to this day."

The paneling is terrible but I hope it still looks okay to you ;w;

Also, I drew Link's Champion tunic because I consider this scene happened after he became Zelda's personal body guard (when their relationship evolved to friendship)
