i feel like im being lobotomized. is the fact that they refer to the families that hold council positions as "houses" not enough? it's monarchy-adjacent. her HOUSE has a seat, which she didn't take, but also at the time the council had like 4 fucking member and didn't really count anyway. she is the head of her house now. she DROPPED her clan's position as a house (giving up the seat) for this. lord

saying this as caitlyn kiramman is my comfort character bc #autism but

if you “stand with your cancelled wife” you’re missing the point of the whole storyline sorry. the show is TELLING you her actions are wrong. it’s to demonstrate how the privileged retaliate the moment they are hurt by the oppressed and it’s a pretty good examination of that.

seen some ppl saying she wants to “exterminate zaunites” and… no. she is against that but the PEOPLE AROUND HER justify her actions as they get worse and worse because they are trying to drive her to violence against civillians. and as much as she would normally be against that, she has lost self control. and BECAUSE she has lost self control, and she is surrounded by so much privilege that she can do whatever she wants, she is going to make some horrible choices. she is NOT justified, far from it.

what she is now able to do is something zaun has been wanting to do for ages, but she has the resources. she isn’t setting out to hurt people, just jinx, but she is beginning to view the people she DOES hurt as collateral damage. that is why you can’t justify it. some people will never like her character because she’s a cop and that’s okay. fuck cops. arcane is an allegory for classism and it’s okay to hate characters who perpetuate said classism. not everyone has to like caitlyn, not everyone has to like her inevitable redemption arc, nobody ever said liking her means you’re a bad person. just don’t justify her. because you aren’t supposed to.
