I'm reading an Ichihime drabble where Orihime cuts her hair back to the way it was when she was a child, and to be honest, I disagree a bit with what the author wrote. Because of several things:

1._ Orihime wouldn't cut her hair for two reasons. One, her brother Sora always loved the length and color of Orihime's hair. Second, for Tatsuki, who was the one who encouraged her and defended her from bullies, and to keep her promise.

In this drabble, Tatsuki accompanies her to get her hair cut, but I'm sure if Orihime would cut her hair, it would be to even it out or so that it doesn't go past the length of her back.

2._ The drabble talks about Ichigo not being able to take his eyes off her because of the new cut and also being surprised that Chizuru mentions if Hime cut her hair because of some bully.

But I feel that Ichigo would be aware of that aspect since it is known that in Japan, they used to ask that if a student didn't have black hair, they would ask the student to dye their hair so everyone was equal and there was no "mistreatment," or if you had colored hair, you were a gangster or a problem child. So he would be aware that if she has striking hair, something like that would have happened to her, plus Tatsuki would definitely have told him at some point.

Also, I feel that if Orihime shows up with that cut again, Ichigo will see in her the little Orihime who came to the Kurosaki clinic with Sora on her back, as we know he remembers it well, having opened the door himself that day. I feel that he would not be comfortable with that memory, as it was the lowest point in Orihime's life and the moment when he felt connected to her through the pain of loss.

Ichigo would undoubtedly choose the Orihime of now, with long hair and a big smile on her face, whom he chooses to care for and protect for the same reason.

This drabble I think hit me pretty hard hahaha, so much that it made me think about all of this.

Regarding this AU, I like thinking that Orihime took her dying brother to the temple of the sun god at night during a lunar elipse, thinking the son of the solar goddess Masaki was going to be there but as a god that only offers protection he couldn't do any healing and Sora couldn't be saved even with the help of his human father Isshin.

Years later Orihime followed Tatsuki to the Sun temple during an eclipse. When he saw her, he begged for her forgiveness for not having any hability to heal her brother that night, but Orihime never carried any resentment, she even helped maintaining the garden of the temple and was a devotee with Tatsuki. They talked and got along great, after that Orihime never missed any eclipse so she was able to see Ichigo again

• Soul Kingdom is part of the woman world, they just got out of the war caused by Yhwach and the Quincy, it lasted a decade or so, with an infinite amount of victims.

• Ichigo was not born as Mugetsu, he became Mugetsu during the last battle and he defines himself as cursed for it.

• Mugetsu -> Moon Phases, affecting Ichigo’s behavior and bloodthirst instincts. It’s a madness that nobody can find a cure for yet.

• There are individuals that are born with powers and others that are mere humans. For this AU, all soul reapers retain their powers and humans remain humans.

• Orihime is a healer, after the death of her brother during the war, she survived by healing innocent victims of war. She’s known amongst the commoners for being one of the only help.

• She’s summoned to the palace in order to help find a cure for the new Soul King.

I like writing, yes, but I don't do it as much as I used to, and it would have to be a pretty solid idea for me to write it, like the one you read in my fic, but I wouldn't rule out that I might write more in the future either from High school warfare or from the original world.
