I finished reading cruel prince a while ago and honestly am I the only one who didn't really like it at all? I first of all don't understand how Jude ended up liking Cardan in the first place, like it made no sense. For years he bullied her and did the most awful things not to just her but her sisters to and I do not care what anyone says his actions were NOT justified. Oriana and Vivi were both also faes so it's not even the fact that "faes are just cruel and rude" he is just a asshole LMAOO. I get he was trying to get her attention, but he could have done that in a civil way instead of kicking dirt in her food, or making her literally strip naked to embarrass her, or throwing her in a river with her sister??? Also, this went on for years so how she likes him MAKES NO SENSE I DON'T CARE, HE WAS ABUSIVE. I feel like all the characters lacked depth and just seemed bland honestly. I couldn't even help at the end to skim through it because of how bored I got. Also, I hated how vague the description of the characters and world was. I really wish Holly Black took her time with world building. Also again with her building up things I feel like her and Locke came out of nowhere, there was absolutely nothing that build that relationship up, like oh he winked at her a couple of times tf? The part where Jude is given one of Locke's DEAD MOTHER'S gowns and she takes the pin from it made me so mad like THAT IS HIS DEAD MOMS PIN WHAT ARE WE DOING??? The "plot twists" were honestly really predictable which made it harder to get through and I was kind of mad at the end where Dain was just killed off like that? I wish she did more with his character. Also don't think I won't mention the fact that the note Cardan wrote of just Jude's name was in a book she read when she was a CHILD am I the only on that thought that was weird? I think this book is hyped up WAY more than it should be. If you want a slow burn and enemies to lovers this was not it LMAOO I was expecting an actual slow burn and for nothing to happen in this book then they go and kiss at the end which ruined it for me honestly. I mean if you were into than good for you I guess, it just definitely wasn't my cup of tea.
