Also idk if this author is getting paid for make-up product placement but if she's not why the fuck is she doing it for free
/genuine is it really some women's experience of girlhood to be obsessed with the way they look at all times regardless of what else is going on?
Like your sister is in the hospital, you just got off a worrying phone call with your mom and you still list wondering if you dyed your hair the right color among your top anxieties level of pre-occupied with it
#she cant just say undereye concealer she has to say Brand Name concealer#girl this is a book stop doing tv level product placement

#about a book im starting#if it was only one character Id be like okay thats a Personality Choice#but there's 4 POV girls and theyre ALL like this#so in the author's world apparently this is how all girls are??#i know most girls care about their appearance more than I do but to this degree? really?#so far theyre all like if the plastics from mean girls were about to find out they have magic

"Just because you're aroace doesn't mean you can't have sex or date!" True! You got me. Anyway, remember how in Twilight the vampires technically can eat human food but it tastes like dirt and eventually they have to throw it up?
#actually crazy how many progressive allos can fully understand that experiences outside of their own exist#right up until they encounter aros & aces and run face first into a brick wall

No yeah cool you're like super progressive that's awesome. So you're going to abolish gender by destroying the places women carved out for themselves after being excluded from men's spheres? Cool, cool. Let me know how that works out for you.
#feminism#gender#this is about that post going around saying women's sports shouldn't exist#like cool yeah i'm onboard fuck gender#but maybe starting with abolishing womens sports isn't going to do what you think it's going to do#it's just going to mean women (and several nonbinary pro athletes) don't have access to sports#this is the same thing as attacking progressive creators for not being perfect instead of going after anyone who isn't trying at all#outside of your progressive internet bubble we're still at a place where andrew tate is convincing teenage boys women arent real people#so maybe we can focus on not taking things away from women who fought so hard to get them in the first place yeah?

yeah no man it's cool that you don't like the female character for having an insufficient development. yeah even if you adore that male character that appeared in two frames of the show. yeah. yeah. yeah. cool. cool.
#i need people to start interogating why they always 'just happen' to find the white male character the most compelling#or I will not be responsible for my actions

Do you actually ship them or do you want them to be trapped together in a cave-in where one of them is injured and they have to talk to keep them distracted and stay sane while they wait for help, and end up opening up about their vulnerabilities and bond and then grow desperate as one starts to slip from consciousness while the other begs them to stay awake—

i think a lot of people especially young women fixate on the idea of wanting to get married and have a wedding less bc of the actual marriage and more bc of the big party where they wear a pretty dress and everyone pays attention to them. and i don't say that in a judgmental way, i think it's very human to want attention and to have everyone think you're pretty and say nice things to you. i unironically think the divorce rate would go down if there was something like a quincanera for adults where you wear a nice outfit and everyone pays attention to you and then there's food and alcohol and dancing. like if people could just do that without also signing a legal contract binding them to another person.
#and also just as like a “milestone” that everyone agrees makes you an adult/successful#I think we should all just have an “I'm an adult yay!!” party at 30 idk

It's Agender Pride Day, here's some personal art from me
ID in alt text
#this aligns a lot with how i feel#i often describe my gender as: apathetic#i identify as cis bc its easiest and i dont care enough to change it#but i think in a world that didnt have a concept of gender to begin with i would be: happier

the villain who controls the ableist, homophobic, misogynistic and generally bigoted world of the story holding a book with basically exactly the same cover design as the first harry potter book with a title that has exactly the same structure format...oh i love this show

So many people born with uteri that don't want them. So many people born without uteri that wish they had them. We could have a pretty efficient system if the medical establishment weren't cowards
I can't believe it's 2025 and we still don't have a way for me to give my empty uterus to a trans woman who wants to carry a child
For Sale: Ace Womb, Never Used
#i have a confession to make in that people probably wouldnt want my specific uterus 🙈#i have inconcsistent periods that dont really bother me but maybe/probably speak to some infertility issues#(i mean they do bother me but not bc of the inconsistency)#but i would absolutely give it to someone if they wanted it and I could!!

Actually yknow what. WTNV should be considered revolutionary and significant gay media that played an important role in the growth of gay representation in media especially in podcasts. When people talk about important gay media in the early 2000s I want wtnv to be one of the ones people talk about. No if ands or buts about it.
#you can say all this without saying “nobody was thinking about putting gay rep in popular media prior to 2012”#which is just categorically untrue#will and grace started in the late 90s#btvs season 4 (gay willow arc) started in '99#ER started in '94 though I don't remember which season Dr. Weaver first came out#and those are just off the top of my head#so yes wtnv was very important#but we were thinking about this in the late 90s early 00s plenty

Sometimes you have to take a step back and remember that same-sex marriage has only been legal in America for ten years.
#it was legalized the summer I graduated high school#and man did that set me up to think the world was becoming a different place than it's turned out to be
