I saw a drawing of Sam as a woman and Dean still as a man. It blew my mind to think about how much worse this situation could be for Sam. Add to that the fact that all of Sam's partners are men, plus she still went to Stanford (which, in Dean's mind, means she left the family), and everything that happens in the show.

Dean is already controlling, but this would make it even worse. I think he would see every one of Sam's partners as direct competition. They're men, and they can offer Sam security, a stable life, and everything that comes with having a boyfriend.

dean would be such a possessive fucker over her. you can't even gauze how dean treats other women with how he'd treat sam. bcs sammy is always different, always special. she would be treated like his property and people around her would tell her its just how she knows he loves her.

dean wouldn't hit her as much but would definitely backhand her around s4-s5, that's degrading and essential to their dynamic (and cause spn has weird morals about degrading treatment of "evil" women being okay cause they're more evil than women)

dean's madonna whore complex is very special to me because if you consider it real, you'd need to dig into his relationship with his mother

the first proponent of this theory was Freud, who called it Psychic Impotence (lol) Basically that men cannot feel arousal around women they love and cannot love women they want to fuck. And Freud being Freud linked this directly to the Oedipus complex. To summarise, unresolved tension of this incestuous affection one feels for their parent can create a divide between how you view women as sacred and women as desirable. Normally children resolve this tension by developing to the next psychosexual stage.

Important to mention that Oedipus Complex occurs at ages 3-6

If you consider this theory, think about exactly how catastrophically unresolved it would be for Dean who lost his mother at 4 and did not have any other available woman to take her role but Sammy. Sammy who looks in awe of every stupid thing he does just like mom did, Sammy who gets mad at him for getting hurt while patching him up just like mom did, Sammy who prays and believes in angels, just like mom did

Sam as the mother equivalent in so she is pure and untouched and someone who is in the family, therefore capable of soft touches and unconditional love. On the other is Sam as this woman he does not recognise.

Famine was actually wrong. At least, partially. That should give Dean some satisfaction. Some “gotcha” feeling. These fuckers do not have a read on him like they think they do. It’s not that there’s nothing inside. It’s that it’s buried so deep it feels like a black hole. It’s the first thing he remembers ever doing— the long and taxing task of digging. It’s so embedded in him he does it to this day, even if it doesn’t matter anymore, even if he dug it enough. No, it doesn’t fill with food, sex or booze. But there’s something that fills it, if only halfway. Something that soothes the so familiar and all consuming hunger.

“Dean…”

His brother’s so pale these days the blush that usually consumes his face and neck is now quite visible between his shoulder blades. Even his ass and thighs are now marked red from the rough contact with Dean’s trousers, but he doesn’t nag. It’s also a testament to how far gone Sam is, or how tired he is, that Dean didn’t hear a single complaint about his boots in the bed yet.

He slides his knee between Sam’s, pushing it so he opens wider and Sam almost collapses entirely into the mattress. He manages to keep his hips up, but the foundation is weak, trembling at the knees, his soft dick with it. He’s squeezing Dean so tight inside, he probably can’t even move much without hurting himself. When Sam’s tired and tense, he gets that much tighter.

When he’s tired, Sam’s also a lot quieter. That changes in a beat when Dean pulls him back by the hair. Pain, or pleasure, or both, he leans back, mouth open and eyes closed tight. Dean never goes for Sam’s hair during a fight, not even the silly ones, the bitch-slapping they used to do, but it does come with a punishing grip the way he does it now, fist full of hair, just like it would be in a fight. But what he does want is to see Sam’s face. His mouth. The cleanliness of it.  

The remaining strength vanishes from Sam then, and he is now spread out, belly on the bed, all covered with Dean, from his fingers clenching under big brother’s hands, to his curled toes. His messy hair still clinging to Dean’s fingers as he pushes Sam’s head down, not letting go, never letting go.

And now Dean can pretend the hoarseness, the tiredness, the slumped shoulders, all of it comes from him, and him alone. He wore Sam out, of course, that’s how he does it. 

That’s how he fills the gaping hole inside.
