i am never visiting the tag before finishing the series NOW SAY WHAT
What she says: “I’m fine.”
What she means: “While it’s accepted largely by the fandom the Black Knights betraying Lelouch was one of the worst parts of R2, you need to look further below the surface to understand the true implications of what happened. Did the Black Knights have every reason to distrust and possibly even turn on Lelouch? Yes. But they did for the sake of an under-the-table deal with Schneizel for Japan’s indipendence. While this might have been understandable early on, by this point the Black Knights were the contracted army of the United Federation of Nations, who under Paragraph 17 of the UFN charter every participating nation had agreed to forever resign the right to have their own indipendent military forces. Ohgi and the other core members of the Black Knights essentially agreed to sell the entire world to Schneizel knowing these nations would lack a military to defend themselves from Schneizel’s Britannia so Japan alone could remain free, with absolutely nothing guranteeing the safety of this deal other than Schneizel’s word taken at face value.”
