It's funny how the fandom managed to whitewash the most generic white girl of american movies. They just decided to ignore Annabeth's entire description and make her pale as milk and straighten her hair.

With her deep tan and her curly blond hair, she was almost exactly what I thought a stereotypical California girl would look like, except her eyes ruined the image.

Here's a little gift to the audience of our most recent adult swim bumper! The months of hard work really paid of, as we've received an insane amount of positive feedback from all of you.

The ident was made by @thefox-i (director, sound design, rough animation), @cucuumiia (co-directior, backgrounds, clean-up, storyboards), and @cordwaner (co-director, producer, backgrounds, editing, compositing) and of course also Landolin Wirz who did the custom music for us! This was a collaboration between Adult Swim and our animation school HSLU :)

Fun facts about the behind the scenes under the cut!:

In the first draft Pim was supposed to draw a smile on Mona Charlie's face, however there was a concern that it could encourage people to vandalize paintings at art museums. To overcome that issue we really pushed the romantic aspect of the ident and changed it to Pim kissing Charlie instead - We did everything in our power to make it as cheesy as we possibly can and the final storyboard was approved as a result of those changes!

Pim went through a lot of redesigns until we settled for the final one, whereas Charlie was on point from the get-go. Here is the only piece of concept art I made of him:

While working on the animation, a classmate suggested adding a spit trail when Pim kisses Charlie. Later on a teacher walked in on us and saw the spit trail we animated and suggested we keep it and even showed us how to improve the spit trail animation.

When giving feedback, the same teacher encouraged us to make Pim appear to be even more in love with Charlie - to the point that he'd tell us to "give the people what they want!"

We're not the only Adult Swim bumper who's taken it a bit to the zesty direction- Soon you'll see a samurai Jack Adult Swim ident that's just as gay.

Here's some color concepts I did, I mostly worked on painting the backgrounds, helped with directing and did all of the compositing, giving the ident the finished look!:
