"Mhm..?" Hearing that voice, Kid's eyes widened in disbelief- a smile creeping up on his face- his breathing getting heavier, an inconsistent pattern to it.

"W- Woah-- Batman?" His voice shaken, a shoddy attempt to regain composure resulted in failure- he can't hide his awkward excitement. "It's you- and you're talking to me...!"

"No way-- can't be real- can it..?! You're- you're not Clayface messin' with me, right?" He was obviously apprehensive, skeptical- he studied The Batman carefully and from a safe distance.

Besides this kid's tights — what's the deal with everybody being so ob-sessed with Batsy, anyway? — ain't he the bucko 'was talking about Joker-flavored vape pods? Now, that's not something the Clown Prince himself can endorse.

"Eheh... hehheh.. ?" Is that really him? The douchebag that keeps cramping Batman's style?! Batkid chuckled to himself both in disbelief and slight nervousness as he studied The Joker.

"Well would'ja look at that! The Jokester himselfs..." Kid was on his guard, naturally, when he was around any of these freaks, he knew they'd always have something up their sleeves.

"I've got hidden talents- you're judgin' me based on my looks and my possible weak social skills but I'm anythin' but incompetent," there was a smirk under his mask- the fabric shifted slightly to indicate this. He kept his distance, despite maintaining a level of confidence. "But even so- I ain't to keen on being your cleanup boy.."

"And keep the Batman's name outta your mouth," he's getting slightly fidgety- "He doesn't like you..." practically huffing out this sentence in a low voice, the animosity was quite obvious. It's a sensitive topic, regarding The Bat himself.

There's a sparkle of light in Kid's sunglasses as Burn spoke about how they conduct themselves, he found it interesting how Burn just helped so much. He started to think that if he should do more of that sort of thing too...

Nah, he thought to himself. He was already doing big help messing with big baddies like The Penguin and Two-Face. Stealing from the rich and giving it to the poor- sometimes. Most of the time he keeps the money for himself, but it wasn't much anyway. But it still counts as a good deed..! Right?

"That's so cool! So awesome... and you don't get big threats? Sounds breezy where you live.. Gotham's always in trouble, if it's not today, then it's tomorrow. If it's not tomorrow? The day after!" He laughed a little saying that, thinking about it, it feels a bit comical how much the city is so overrun with troublemakers.

"But you're so awesome... like, being able to help out like that? It's so cool..." Kid didn't care much about conventional social practice, he himself had trouble with communicating properly but he felt it was fine- as long as he was polite as he was now. Was he polite enough? A bit of anxiety knocked on the back of his head, but he manages to shrug it off. Burn doesn't seem bothered by him, so it's fine.

"This is exciting... you're new to Gotham- I can show you around if you want?" Kid felt eager but did his best not to seem overbearing. "Maybe we'll even run into Batman!" He took his attention to the sky, searching to see if the bat signal was anywhere to be found tonight.

Alas, no sign. Perhaps not yet, at least.

"Oh okay??" Kid couldn't seem to brain the fact that Burn had no idea about Batman at all, but did his best to accept that fact although there was a physical struggle in his tone and expression, "Uhm.... hmmmm- well you've been missing out on a LOT... and I mean a LOT!"

He giggled at the mere thought of Batman in action, he had seen a few of Batman's run-ins with criminals strewn about in this city, even tried to fight alongside the Bat himself, but- but we don't talk about that much. Heh. It was an embarrassing experience to say the least.

"Sorry, I just get real excited thinking about... how cool he is! He- he kicks major ass," Kid tries to imitate The Batman's fighting style, but he could barely replicate it, not being too knowledgeable about actual martial arts or anything like that, "Gotham's full of bad guys- like Two-Face, Penguin, Joker..." thinking about them frustrated him, because they got more attention than Kid had ever gotten from Batman... but they were villains, and Kid believed he was one of the good guys.

"Makes sense that Batman has to go after 'em all the time, they do bad things to this city..." Kid let out a sigh, sitting on the edge of the building as he looked up at the night sky, "But it's just- it feels like they get more time hanging out with Batman! Ah, what am I saying- someone in this city's gotta beat the bad guys up.. and that's Batman's job..!" He searched the night sky for the Bat Signal, a light in the sky that represented hope for the citizens of Gotham and struck fear in the hearts of criminals. To Kid? It was both.

"Sorry if I'm giving you weird vibes," he laughed, changing his tone in an instant, "I don't usually get to talk to people like this!"

"You said you were the main vigilante of your city? Man, if you haven't heard of Batman, you must be from WAY out... what's it like? What do you do?" He wanted to try his best to be nice, not make the conversation about him and all that. He didn't get the chance to socialise with anyone properly, so he didn't want to mess it up.

He was a naturally abrasive person, but it was hard for him to control himself especially when it came to The Batman.

"Ohmygod- he's like, the BEST...! How could you not know- what do you- you live under a rock?!" It was hard for Kid to comprehend someone not knowing the greatness of The Batman. Living in Gotham for his whole entire life, Batman was all he ever knew.
