Johnlock wedding fanfic (349 words) tw: vague mention of panic attacks

Sherlocks eyes dart towards the priest as John Watson says his vows staring at his partner.

“I now announce you John and you Mary husband and wife.”

Sherlock feels like his throat is being ripped out and tears begin to form in his eyes. He knew this would happen but he was struggling to breathe as he watched the man he’d spent so many late restless nights with marry another person. He knows John has to do it. For his parents. They set up this marriage but what if John and Mary actually started loving each other. His head starts to get dizzy and he can’t see through the tears anymore. He stumbled to the toilets hoping no one would notice him.

He locked himself in a cubicle and leant his back against the wall as he slid down it. His breathing got faster and faster until he was in a panic attack. Shit. He hadn’t dealt with one of these without John for like five years. He gripped his throat tight to calm himself. From outside the cubicle, he heard a thump.

“Sherlock? Are you in here?” Johns voice wavered slightly. He had gotten away from his own wedding as quick as he could when he saw the state Sherlock left in.

A small whimper came from behind the small door and a click of its lock unlocking to allow John in. John rushed in and knelt down beside him. His arms wrapped round his boy and quietly in his ear, he whispered softly “It’s alright darling. I promise you’re ok. You know it’s not real love. You know that it’s for my parents. You’re my only love. Ever. I promise.”

Sherlocks head rested on Johns chest and once he calmed down they wandered back into the wedding. Mary allowed the two to dance together whilst she dance with her own secret partner. It was a sacrifice they had to make to marry each other but it needed to be done. As Sherlock danced against Johns chest, he knew everything was going to be alright. That John would never leave his side. That maybe he truly was loved.

I can not specify enough how Watson is not the Normie in the Sherlock and Watson Duo.

THEY ARE BOTH INCREDIBLY ODD

Not even going to bring up how, in-universe, the Sherlock Holmes novels are real books written by Watson in real time, that he is publishing. Like you willingly put out there that you have memorized your new roomates daily routine IN DETAIL, the things he does and doesn’t know, the appearance of his hands IN DETAIL and so on.

Watson and Sherlock are both freaks, in similar yet very different ways and I think that’s hilarious

they’ve portrayed so real. like not as though he’s some mythical creature who is emotionless but as a human

one of the many things I love about Sherlock and co's Sherlock is actually that he's so human. Like sure, there are some big autism stereotypes (like the whole being obsessed with trains thing) but they have also given him all the struggles of a real autistic person. He's much less mystic or alien than for example BBC Sherlock, because we get to see/hear him struggling, overstimulated, scared, nervous.

my point is I love him.
