The movie itself isn't bad, but I'm tired of the trope. U could have had her scrape her hand or knee and had that heal instead, just as effective.

We all love the new superman movie, and we all love how superman is finally portrayed again as someone who is simply Good, but I again come away from a movie enjoying characters who aren't popular and thus being starved for content.

Yes!!! New predator movie where the predator is a main character!! I can't wait to see it! Gotta go to theaters for this one.

Am i the only one who thinks the new predator looks... funky? Idk, he looks a lil off compared to all the previous pred designs. Personally it feels like they tried to humanize him more, maybe so audiences would connect better I'm guessing. Or maybe I'm being too critical. I've recently gotten into magazines and it sounds amazing, but there's so many volumes for the series I don't want to spend that much, since if I do like the series I'd want to try to get as many as possible for a full collection. I tried checking a few magazine pdf sites but they didn't have it.

Lot of people in the replies are going "you're talking about literally not being human instead of losing human morals" and yeah, they can be different but a lot of stories treat them the same and frankly I, too, am very tired of it. You know how much media I've seen where the protag gains magical abilities or a non-human physical feature and they immediately go "oh nooooo! I can shoot fire and I have awesome Jedi powers and I look sick AF but I'm a monsterrrrrrrrrr. How can I live with myself, how can I call myself a person now that I have cat ears". You know, personally if I woke up and found that I was a 7ft tall pointy creature that barely resembled my human self I'd organize a party and throw an orgy. And I'd want bioluminescence, fuck yeah!

It's part of the reason why, although I love sci-fi, I struggle with a ton of alien-meets-human and becomes friends stories. Majority of the time, the human shows the alien how moral and correct the human way is, and how the human way will always trump any other culture that exists in the universe. It always comes off so arrogant and preachy.

We need more stories from people who know what it's like to feel deeply alienated with humanity, both socially and in body. To become something Else is not a horror. The horror is staying how you are.

Absolutely livid that every work of fiction under the sun depicts "losing your humanity" as something inherently bad and morally wrong.

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but is beckett mariner a well-liked character?

I love the orville and mission to zyxx, so I thought I'd give lower decks a try. 4 episodes in and watching each one is like stepping barefoot through glass because of how obnoxious Beckett is. Does she stay like that for the whole show?

The show itself is fine so far, but she really makes me not want to continue it.
