i firmly believe if peter parker sat me up on his bathroom counter, slowly dabbed at my wounds with a clean cloth, and asked “who did this to you?”, all my problems would be fixed. even better if we’ve had a kinda hatred for eachother in the past.

You Have your Father's Eyes Pt.4
This is the final part (poorly written) I do apologize for the slowness. I've slowly started to become unmotivated, but I will get to everybody's requests soon!
And just like that, dawn came.
The vows were made.
Jude was High Queen to Cardan.
Orlagh was more than pleased..for now.
After the vows were made.
And here they all were, Cardan's hand in Jude's as the ring slipped on. Jude looked weak, her bags dark as she shook underneath his hand. Cardan could feel it, feel the shaky breath, the trembling of her skin. And it made him want to drive his sword into Orlagh.
"Wonderful news!" Orlagh smiled as she clapped her hands. "Now, High King Cardan and High Queen Jude."
Cardan kept Jude's hand in his, worried she would collapse underneath him. "Orlagh, you kidnapped and tortured royalty." Cardan looked to the Queen.
"Well I AM the Queen."
"You kidnapped and tortured royalty nonetheless. The next heir, too." It went silent, the people around knowing what was happening. Orlagh stayed silent before she looked at Nicasia and laughed.
"You cannot be serious."
"I can't lie, Orlagh."
"Thats QUEEN, Orlagh."
"Not anymore. Jude's the Queen, remember?" Cardan grinned, Jude's head turned to him as if she could read his mind to see what he was getting at.
"But so am I." Orlagh stood straight. The wind was the only noise being made again, Cardan deciding if he really was tough enough to continue this plan. He took a deep breath, and Jude knew he was ready.
"Queen Orlagh of the Undersea. I, High King Cardan of Elfhame, sentence you to the Tower of Forgetting for act of kidnapping and torture upon former Princess Jude." The words Princess and Jude made the girl cringe, hearing only "wrench Jude" or "mortal girl" but never something as fancy as Princess Jude.
"You can't do that." Orlagh argued, but was proven wrong as she felt guards grab her arms and begin to pull her back. "Hey! You can't do this! I am the QUEEN!"
"But are you?" Everybody turned to Jude, who hadn't said a word since the vows. "You wanted Cardan and I to marry so I was the Queen of Elfhame and the Undersea. Now I am. Isn't this what you wanted...Grandma?" Jude seethed the last word, Cardan unable to hid the small smile as he felt the fiesty Jude come back from the depths of inside of her.
"You're both crazy." Orlagh growled as she was carried away.
"Always," Cardan now smiled, but his dark smile as Orlagh was out of sight. The King turned to Nicasia, who stood tall the moment eyes were on her. "As for you.."
"Cardan we used to be friends. Are you really going to let this mortal change that?" Nicasia asked, and Cardan began to think. Jude's heart began to race, and she though that this was the end, that Cardan would listen to her.
"Yes, yes I am. But, you have two options. You can either go back to Undersea and never return, or join your grandmother."
"Th-thats not fair, I-" Nicasia stuttered on her words, knowing Cardan's decisions were made. She sighed. "I'll go home."
Cardan nodded, saying nothing as Nicasia left the premises. The King turned to his Queen, who seemed to be standing straighter in confidence. "As for you, let's get you home shall we?" His face stroked the side of Jude's, making all she could remember about was that night she told Cardan to flirt with Nicasia and he first touched her in more than just glamours and dancing across the floor.
They got home, Cardan walking her to his room. "Cardan I have my o-"
"You're the Queen now, Jude. Don't you think a King and a Queen should share a room?" Cardan walked up behind Jude, taking the bottom of her shirt and teasing it up. "Come on, you need to get changed." Jude felt the anxiety hit her empty stomach as Cardan helped her undress.
The man stayed respectful, however, until he kissed her shoulder and spoke softly as he finally gave in. "Let me take care of you, Jude."
And the kiss on her neck, followed by the soft exhale from Jude was enough to show the rest was history.

You Have Your Father's Eyes Pt. 3
This is again, poorly written. My brain has not been working
Pt. 4 will be mostly short and the final
The words screamed around in the Queen's head. How could this menace be her granddaughter? No, it wasn't possible. Her parents were dead, Madoc took her in. Everybody knew Jude and Taryn's story.
Her son couldn't be dead.
"That's not possible."
"I don't know," Jude stood weakly. "I'm also to be said sleeping with the King, anything is possible." In most cases, Orlagh would slap her. Yet something changed within her, perhaps the evil plan that lured into her mind.
"You look nothing like me." Orlagh looked her up and down, realizing now Jude had some reflecting features.
"Well of course not. What did you expect me to turn into your fish minion?"
"Silent, girl. Nicasia darling, do you remember your uncle I spoke of?" The Queen waited for the Princess to nod. "This is his child."
Jude froze. Child? Child of Nicasia's uncle? That makes her-
"Does that mean?" Nicasia glared at the mortal in horror. "She's my cousin?"
"Yes," Orlagh began before the faintest smirk grew. "Meaning she's the rightful heir to the throne."
"I'm sorry, what?" The mortal tried to stand, but her back ached from the torture. She managed to just sit on her elbows and stare at the two Undersea royals. "You've got the wrong girl."
"Surely I do not. You, Jude, are the rightful Heir to the Undersea throne. And you also have the best chance of marrying the High King." The mortal let out a laugh, the Queen raising her hand before she stopped and settled down. Orlagh looked to her servants, "clean her up, she returns to the surface tomorrow at the crack of dawn, somebody alert that pesky King that won't stop threatening me about her."
"What? What do you mean?" Jude stood with the help of two maids, who held a gentle grip on her arms.
"Oh? You don't know. King Cardan as been sending us threats to return you. When we do tomorrow, I will force him to marry you. And when we rule the Undersea and the surface together.." Orlagh gently touched her granddaughter's cheek. "We will be powerful."
"And if I choose not to?"
"Then you die." Was all the queen said before she left the room.
The next morning, Jude was now shoved into Cardan's arms. As much as Cardan wanted to hold her and whisper he would get revenge, he stood her up and stared at the Queen. "What is it you wish for."
"It's simple, High King." Orlagh began, "Jude is my eldest granddaughter."
Cardan paused for a moment, but then he started to laugh. Laugh like it was some sick joke until he saw Jude's sickened face. Her entire body wasn't how Jude's body usually was, she was no longer holding herself up and glaring Nicasia down. Instead, she was pleading for Cardan to finish this conversation so she could perhaps go home and eat.
"How." Cardan said as his face grew serious, hating the way Orlagh broke Jude down into.
"She's my eldest son's daughter. Justin. Meaning, she's the rightful heir."
"And you want me to marry her." Cardan knew where Orlagh was headed with this, and he had thought about marrying Jude before her kidnapping, find it easier to rule. Orlagh was surprised Cardan caught on so fast, but to Cardan this was just a sign to marry Jude. "Fine. We marry tomorrow at dawn."
"Great! We will come up tomorrow before the sun rises, and we will have you two wedded by noon!" Orlagh smiled, although Jude cringed. Jude's fingers ended up grasping the bottom of Cardan's shirt, but he didn't care. He wanted Jude home and safe, not Undersea and dying.
Cardan excused Orlagh, watching her sink back down into the sea. The moment she was out of sight, Cardan grabbed the bottom of Jude's legs and swung them up. He carried her all the way to the bed she was grateful to be in again.
"I know this isn’t how you wanted your kingdom to go, and I'm sorry Cardan." Jude rasped out, but she was out cold before Cardan could respond.
"I get to marry you. That's all I care about." He whispered, although she couldn't hear. The King kissed his future Queen's forehead, calling in a servant to care for her while he made plans.
Plans to destroy Orlagh.

You Have Your Father's Eyes Pt. 2
This is kinda poorly written and I apologize
//Warning: This contains all book spoilers
Justin was wrong.
He wished maybe this was his fairytale, maybe this was his happy ending. But the closest happy ending he got was 10 minutes ago when he was playing with his daughters, wife smiling.
Before the knock came.
Before he had to grab the axe.
Before he had to try and kill a man in front of his children.
Before he was dying on the rug Eva was so careful of keeping clean. Before Eva was trying to crawl to him for he couldn't move, not with the way Madoc just gutted him.
He looked up and saw his little girl pounding her small fists into the tall man, Justin's heart raced the best it could. Please don't hurt her, he wished he could plead, please don't hurt my Jude.
Justin closed his eyes for a moment, but when he opened them.
His daughters were gone.
"I'm so sorry, Justin." Eva cried as she gave up crawling, close enough to Justin to reach for his hand. "This is my fault." Justin could only shake his head, his body was fading quicker than he wished. "Where is our happily ever after?" She grasped his hand weakly, and Justin couldn't help but grin just a little.
He was dying, yes. But his daughters were going to Elfhame, if Madoc still had that kind soul to children he always had. And he was dying holding his wife's hand. He had twins with her, he helped raise Vivi. He was dying contently, just hoping his children were safe.
"I love you," Justin used all of his strength to tell her that, but he noticed she was already gone. Looking up at the ceiling, he closed his eyes and dreamt of his happy ending.
The one that sadly wouldn't come.
"What do you mean, you cannot find him?!" Orlagh yelled at her maids.
"He is nowhere to be found, miss. Rumor has it he left Elfhame with a woman named Eva." Orlagh's head snapped to look at the maid.
"Eva? Madoc's woman?" The maid nodded. "Well then he shall be dead or hidden until he dies of something." The Queen looked to her small granddaughter, her second child's daughter who died in childbirth. "I guess you will be of good use to me after all."
"I won't let you down, Grandmother."
"Please. Call me mother, grandmother makes me sound haggish."
"As you wish, Mother." The granddaughter bowed her head, earning a grin from Orlagh.
"You will marry and be Queen of Elfhame."
"What Prince did you have in mind, madam?"
"Prince Cardan. Oh I can see it now! High King Cardan, next to his High Queen Nicasia." The little girl grinned with delight. "Do you like the sound of that, dear?"
"I love it, Mother." Nicasia nodded almost too eagerly.
"The plan worked out anyways. The rightful heir to the Undersea crown, will be High Queen of Elfhame."
But - just like her son - Orlagh's plans didn't work out the way she wanted them to.
"Am I not pretty enough?" Nicasia sobbed to Orlagh, who felt her jaw tighten in anger. How dare that prince find eyes for another woman, a mortal at that? "What do I do, Mother?"
"Hush, child. Do not fret, Mother will take care of everything."
By taking care of everything, Orlagh meant kidnapping the mortal girl and tormenting her until she learned her lesson. "You mortals have magic to lure men don't you?" Balekin sneered at the girl, Orlagh let out a cackle.
"Of course not! She's just a useless mortal girl! The only magic she would ever have is that berry string of necklaces she always wore, but now..we have the higher power." Another hit and another hit before Orlagh cut off the girl's water breathing supply. "How does it feel, hm?"
The girl only choked and looked at her with pissed off eyes. Orlagh refused to stare at her eyes, she felt she needed more power to make the girl sick to her stomach with that gaze.
"How does it feel to be suffocated?" Orlagh let the girl breathe again. "Jude Jude Jude. Pathetic mortal girl." Another hit, Jude finally let out a pained cry at that one. It took a lot to break that girl, she reminded the Queen of her son.
Thats when the light flickered on.
No, it couldn't be, right? Justin wouldn't have let his children come here. No, it was just a trick.
So Orlagh looked the girl in the eyes. "I did nothing wrong." Jude hiccuped, that strong wall she created falling down.
"Who's your father?"
"What?"
Another hit.
"Who's your father?! I will not ask again!"
Jude refused. And she gained even more torment and beatings until she finally screamed it out.
"Justin!"

I have long fic idea where Justin was Orlaugh’s son and mortal and fairies relationships have wether the child be like if the child is faerie or mortal be a coin flip, like the child being faerie is one side and the child being mortal is another and jude and Taryn were brown mortal Orlaugh tortured jude in TWK and Nicasia is orlaugh’s granddaughter but she soon finds out jude and Taryn are her granddaughters too.
//Warning: This contains all book spoilers
Okay! I hope this is what you wanted! It will probably be around 3 parts, I went overboard on Justin and Eva's relationship cause in my mind it would so so sweet!!
Enjoy!!
You Have Your Father's Eyes Pt. 1
To say the Queen of the Undersea grew to be a vile woman was an understatement. After giving birth to her son Justin, she wished nothing more than for him to leave. She needed a Princess, not a mortal Prince.
Although years later she did have a daughter, it wasn't what she wanted. She wanted a daughter as a first-born and only her.
Orlagh made sure her son understood her hatred for him. How she did not welcome him, but she occasionally tried to use him to get close to one of the Princesses of Eldred's. Justin made good friends with Elowyn, although he refused to be flirtatious.
"Why on earth won't you get closer to this child?!"
"Because she's 3, mother!"
"And? She's your future bride!" Justin would always give her a terrified look, Orlagh never seeing the problem.
"I'm 11, why can't my sister be betrothed to Balekin?! They're closer in age than Elowyn and I will ever be."
"So?! Your sister is a pathetic child. Once that Princess is 14 you will marry her. No further questions, boy." Once the mother left, it was that moment that Justin knew he had to leave.
Once Justin hit 15, he had met a girl on land. They didn't speak much, but it was safe to say he had developed a crush on her. A few months later he realized she was into one of the best students around.
Madoc.
Justin's life went downhill again, he thought maybe life was looking up. So he went back to hiding. He never ran into his mother after that though, he refused. Instead, he lived life studying to make weapons, which he found exhilarating.
Needless to say, Justin was wrong about Eva. They ran to the mortal world, Eva had Madoc's child, for a while Justin thought maybe she felt safer with another man by her side in this runaway.
That was, until Eva was calming her breathing as the woman who was just at the end of her bed offered the tiny human wailing in her hands. Eva smiled weakly and nodded her head, holding the small thing into her arms, thankfully used to childbirth.
"Look at her, she's got her mothers nose." Justin smiled, "welcome to the world, little Taryn." He admired the little girl in his wife's arms.
"She's so perfec-" the mother was cut off by a pained gasp, eye widened and eyebrows knitted together. Justin looked to her then the woman now between his wife's legs again.
"What's wrong?" Justin asked in a panic.
"Nothing," the woman laughed a little, "you're having twins!"
Eva had no time to react, this child ready to enter the world head first - literally, fortunately. Justin took Taryn, smiling down at her a little as her screaming stopped, but she shifted and cried again as her mother cried in pain.
Justin balanced a child and a pained wife, ready for another child while his step-daughter was pacing in the living room alone in only hearing her mothers screams. As much as Justin knew he should have been stressed, this was one of the most perfect moments of his life. To him, this was much better than marrying a 15-year-old princess.
Once the second twin was born, Eva finally let her neck relax and calm down. Sweat dripped from her forehead and collarbones, but Justin could only see beauty.
The woman carefully look Taryn to clean her up, the other twin squirming in Eva's arms. She wasn't wailing like her sister, but she wasn't exactly happy to be outside of the womb either. Eva gently shushed her, humming a soft song she had heard Justin always sing to her every night - especially when she had nightmares, nightmares of them being caught, nightmares of Justin being forced back to the Undersea and marry Elowyn, nightmares of Madoc storming the house and taking her sweet daughter Vivienne.
Justin never failed to reassure her it wouldn't happen. Although sadly, he was wrong in so many ways.
The twin in Eva's arms soon settled, content with the song being sung to her. Eva gasped a little before looking at her husband with a smile, "what about Jude? Just like the song?" Justin couldn't stop the wide grin of his as he kissed the woman's forehead.
"I love it, welcome baby Jude."

Flightless Bird Pt. 7
//Warning this contains all book spoilers
~ TRIGGER WARNINGS: This series contains slightly NSFW content, kidnapping, torturing, child endangerment, death. This series a pretty intense, so if I miss any, please let me know! ~
Cardan screamed in pain, swinging his sword and slicing the man’s throat. His head was still in an adrenaline rush. This man in front of him touched Jude, ruined her physically, and probably mentally. Cardan could only see red after he remembered the bruises on his wife’s skin, remembering the anger when he realized Jude was in the Undersea.
“You really hate me, don’t you?”
“Almost as much as you hate me.”
“Most of all, I hate you because I think of you. Often.. It’s disgusting, and I can’t stop.”
How could he be so in love yet so oblivious for years about it? Striking again, Cardan tried to stand, but his now shattered knee was no help in the fight. Dreanum was throwing as many blows as he could, clearly unaware he could crush Cardan easily.
“Tell me that you hate me, Jude.”
Everything rushed to him as he continued to fight from the floor. He needed to win, he needed to win for Jude. He had no idea where she was, but he could only hope she was safe away from this hell.
“Marry me,” Cardan remembered the look on her face like it was yesterday, and he also remembered the fear he had to even think of asking Jude such a question. “Become the Queen of Elfhame.”
To think about calling her his wife almost excited him at that moment. He tried to lie and excuse it for the sake of the crown, but he deep down wanted that and nothing more. “I, Cardan, son of Eldred, High King of Elfhame, take you, Jude Duarte, mortal ward of Madoc, to be my bride and my queen. Let us be wed until we wish for it to be otherwise and the crown has passed from our hands.”
Cardan just wanted to be in his bed, with Jude in his arms. He wished she understood his words when he exiled her, and she came back anyway. “I exile Jude Duarte to the mortal world. Until and unless she is pardoned by the crown, let her not step one foot in Faerie or forfeit her life.”
“Give me the damn sword.” Jude limped over to Locke, the Bomb handing her Nightfell and holding Locke with the Roach. “You messed with the wrong family, Locke.” Locke shook his head in fear, unable to speak and could only let out noises.
“I’m tired of seeing you alive, Taryn close your eyes.” It wasn’t long before Jude swung, Locke’s head rolling to the ground as his headless body fell limp. "Now let's go help my husband."
Cardan cursed to himself as he felt his knee tear in pain, he tried to not yell again for he was sure people outside heard. Dreanum hit Cardan with his dagger handle and he fell to his back, exposed and ready to die. Cardan almost accepted it, he really did. Closing his eyes, he heard the war cry before the pained cry and Dreanum fell to the ground dead. Taryn standing at the stairs holding a bow and arrow, Jude beside her clutching her stomach.
Jude walked down the stairs slowly and carefully until she fell to her knees beside her husband. “Jude you’re bleeding.” Cardan held his wife’s face, Jude ignored his concerns and kissed him. The kiss wasn’t like the hungry one again, this one was ‘you just saved my life, I’m in love with you’ one.
Cardan wrapped his fingers into her hair and kissed her back. Jude laid beside Cardan on the ground, none of them moving as Taryn called for the others. “Injured and can’t walk?” Jude asked, Cardan nodded and asked the same. Jude nodded. “Wanna be dramatic and make them think we died in each other’s arms.”
“That’s perfect,” Cardan laughed a little, kissing Jude again as she leaned against him. The two of them swiftly fell into an exhausted sleep, ready for the day to be over. And of course, Taryn screamed.
When Jude woke up, she found herself in somebody’s arms, but she was too comfortable to care and fell back asleep. She woke up again an hour later, this time feeling a hand stroke her hair. She looked up to find Cardan’s soft smile gazing down at her. “How did you get here? Wait, we're in bed.” Jude went to sit up when she winced and laid back down.
“Yep, we’re on bed rest. Apparently Taryn almost lost her head, sad I missed it.”
“You also missed Locke actually losing his head.” Jude smiled, Cardan returning it as he softly kissed her. “So what happened?”
“Guy shattered my knee,” Jude winced at just the thought of the pain. “You?”
“Locke stabbed me in a final attempt to kill me. The Bomb accidentally called the Roach Van, Locke made a comment like he would turn him against us, the Bomb freaked and cut out Locke’s tongue.
“Dang, and they made fun of us for being protective and violent.” Cardan commented. “I might go back to sleep.”
“Honestly, me too.” Jude chuckled and tiredly murmured as she snuggled closer to her husband. “It’s good to be home.” And there it was, Jude’s answer. Cardan smiled to himself, hearing her just barely, but enjoyed the answer he was questioning too. Cardan was her home. Jude was his flightless bird, the one special person he loved dearly. He just hoped this feeling never stopped.
And it never would.

Flightless Bird Pt. 6
//Warning, this contains all book spoilers.
~ TRIGGER WARNINGS: This series contains slightly NSFW content, kidnapping, torturing, child endangerment. This series a pretty intense, so if I miss any, please let me know! ~ (PSA: These next few parts get pretty intense, stay safe)
“Get your hands off my fucking wife.” The High King of Elfhame stood in the doorway, almost scaring Locke away, but he refused to let go until Jude was dead.
Speaking of Jude, she was currently fighting for her life, eyelids drooping as she tried to stay awake. Taryn noticed and looked to Cardan with a begging look, but she of all people knew Cardan was frozen in fear of what would happen next.
“Wife? Is this some cruel joke? Cardan Greenbriar, marrying a pathetic moral to be the High Queen of Elfhame?” The man scoffed with a small laugh, his grip somehow getting tighter on Jude. “Tell me you’re joking, Cardan.”
The Ghost managed to slip past the King and run over to Taryn, ripping off her restraints. The girl was quick to grab the Ghost’s face and stare, “Larkin, listen to nothing Locke says.” It was only then that the Ghost realized the dangers of him coming here, and he could only hope that Taryn’s control worked stronger than Locke’s.
“Put her down, Locke.” Cardan began to walk toward his ex-best friend, but he stopped shortly as he watched Locke grab Jude’s sword and hold it to her. “You kill her and I will rip you apart,” Cardan’s voice only got lower, “alive.”
“Tell me it’s a joke. Did you really marry her?”
“That girl is Jude Greenbriar, the rightful High Queen of Elfhame.” The Roach stared at Locke with a terrifying look. Jude was only getting worse by the second, and Taryn worried she wasn’t going to make it. The Roach’s words somehow shocked Locke to the point he dropped both Jude and the sword, the girl fell to the ground now unconscious.
“What has gotten in your head, Cardan? First you stand against Valerian, now you marry the girl we vowed to ruin her life?” Locke stepped closer to the man, giving Taryn the room to run to her sister and check her health. “Where’s my best friend?” Locke tilted his head, almost as if he was manipulating Cardan into thinking he was in the wrong.
“He died with my father, brothers and sisters. And don’t you dare think you aren’t next.”
“You’re not gonna kill me,” Locke chuckled nervously, backing up a little until he felt something sharp behind him, making him stop.
“You’re right.” Cardan takes Nightfell from the Ghost’s hand, playing with it for a second as the other members surround him. “We’re gonna kill you.”
“Jude?” Taryn’s soft voice ran throughout the Queen’s ears, bringing her back to her conscious state. “Oh thank god you’re alive!” Taryn’s arms wrapped around her twin's body, Jude hugging her back with a ghost of a smile on her face. Locke was quick to run, swiping Cardan off his feet and making a run for it. The Court of Shadows didn’t need a command to know to go after him, but then the minions came out to play.
“Shit, girls go to the corner,” Jude looked up as her brain got less fuzzy as she got more oxygen inside her lungs and brain. The twins looked at the threat, Jude swallowing hard as she made eye contact with Dreanum, the man who did most of her beatings while she was in this imprisonment.
“Hell no.” Jude stood up, catching her balance as she took Cardan’s sword from his belt. Cardan began to argue when Jude simply told him to shut up. A few minions came in, then a few more, then a few more…then a few more. “Well fuck me.” Jude whispered under her breath as her and Cardan’s backs were against one another, swords up.
“If you insist, my lady.”
“Cardan we are surrounded by people who have broken my ribs twice. Really wanna make sex jokes?” Cardan wasn’t able to answer as they both threw their sword at a faerie in front of them. Thankfully, they were both used to swordfighting, especially without swords. Jude found it exhilarating, as she always did. Cardan couldn’t help but watch the girl in amazement occasionally as she smiled when she pierced a faerie in the chest.
They got rid of the smaller, weaker ones first. Somehow, that was the majority of the group. It was the five bigger guys the King and Queen knew would be the most difficult. “How are you holding up?” Their backs to each other again as they circled, the enemies getting ready to demolish the two.
“I’m okay, Cardan.” Jude reassured her husband, about to say something as they attacked. The battle was full of patterns: slice, slash, duck, slide, slice, duck. The enemies caught on as one of them tripped Jude over right into Cardan, aware of the effect the impact would have on her still fragile body.
Cardan turned and helped Jude up, lifting her on purpose so she could kick up and knock the enemy to the ground, giving her the higher power to jam her boot into his chest as he gave up. Soon there were two standing, Cardan easily able to ruin one until they stopped to face the last one. Jude could feel Cardan ready to give in, exhausted and needing motivation.
“Cardan,” Jude said softly to her husband as she stared at Dreanum dead in the eyes. Lifting her shirt, Jude revealed a hoard of bruises on her ribs.
“Why don’t you lift the shirt up a bit more, hm?” Dreanum grinned as he laughed at his own disgusting joke. Cardan got the message as he handed Jude Nightfell, giving Dreanum a deadly look.
“I don’t take kindly to men who touch my wife.” Cardan waltzed over to the man, no sword in his hand.
“I could snap you in half like a twi-” the threat didn’t get out fast enough as Cardan threw a punch to Dreanum. Jude called Taryn over carefully, leaving Cardan’s sword in case he felt he needed it. But with how angry he seemed, Dreanum would be beaten alive.
Jude got Taryn out, letting her rush over to a nearby tree to hide. Jude was about to go back inside or look for the others when she felt a wind hit her from behind, and she felt a piercing stab go through her stomach.
She found Locke.
“Guy’s I found hi- no!” The Bomb ran over to Jude, grabbing Locke by the throat and throwing him to the ground, taking his dagger out of his hand. “Van!” She yelled to the Roach to get his attention, hearing him get closer.
“So that’s the other ones name,” Locke smirked and gave the Bomb a look that even unsettled her of all people. She soon worried about the Roach’s safety, freaking out more and more as her feelings got in the way of the mission. The next thing she knew, Locke kicked her off screaming in pain as the Bomb held his tongue and dagger in her hands.
The Roach stood by her with a small smile, “go you.”
“Doesn’t matter. Jude was stabbed,” the Bomb turned to the girl somehow on her legs still. “Don’t move.” She instructed Locke as he tried to run away.
“Jude what the hell?” The Roach rushed over to her and slid himself under her arm. “Come on, let's start getting you home.” He started helping Jude walk away from the destroyed looking shed. Jude was almost too tired to care about her going home, that question hit her head again of where home exactly was. She was about to answer for herself when it clicked. “Wait, what about Locke?”
“The Bomb will hold him and let Cardan decide his fate.”
“Cardan’s in there fighting alone and I-” Jude winced as she felt her body jolt at the pain. The Roach let her lay on the ground, now noticing how much she was bleeding. The girl thought for a moment, trying to find a way to make this better so she wasn’t in so much pain, but she figured suffering through it was better than wasting time trying to think.
“Jude just stay here, I need to find the Ghost.” With that, the Roach left.
Jude took her deep breaths, getting prepared to go bad inside the shed after Taryn just recently came out. Jude stood up quickly, “Taryn what the hell were you doing in there?” Jude stopped her lecture as she saw the toddler in her twin’s arms. “Oh my god I completely forgot,” she admitted, Taryn just smiling down at her son. Lysander looked honestly identical to his father, but the look in his eyes gave it all away that he was nothing like he seemed.
The girl was about to say something else, that is, until her smile and stomach dropped hearing the blood curdling yell of her husband inside.

“Cardan all we can do is look for Jude and Taryn.”
“And what if she’s fucking dead, huh?!” Cardan was growing more and more stressed as time went on, Jude was missing and that was all he needed to go on a massacre rage.”It’s been two days!”
“Oh please, Jude will never let somebody like Locke kill her.” The Bomb scoffed as if Cardan was telling some dumb joke.
“She’s right, Cardan. That girl lets nothing get past her, Locke would be lucky if he made it out alive.” The Roach grabbed his water and took a drink from the bottle. Cardan took a small deep breath, taking into consideration that they were more than likely right. Jude was okay.
“I am not okay.” Jude groaned into the wall as one of Locke’s minions left. Jude’s ribs were now screaming for ice, her head pounded, her vision blurred and she was sure she had a concussion.
“Well well well, learn your lesson yet sweet Jude?” Locke came downstairs and Jude groaned in annoyance.
“When will you leave me the fuck alone?!” Jude shouted to the man as she tried to keep her balance against the cold wall. Her eyes closed as she caught her breath, already hearing Locke’s boots on the ground again. In no time, he was in front of her, staring her down as she glared at him. “What do you want?” She choked out, voice raspy from all the shouting at the minions.
“For you to kiss me.” The answer shocked Jude, she let out a laugh thinking he was kidding. “Kiss me, Jude.” His order came out as an ‘or else’ threat. Jude stopped and stared at Locke in disbelief; she was about to deny when Locke grabbed her by the hair, nails digging into her scalp.
Jude let out a pain whimper as she watched Locke’s eyes narrow. “Kiss me, or Taryn’s dead.” Jude knew he wasn’t joking, Locke’s patience was pushed far too much with Jude in her grasp these past two days. Jude wanted nothing more than for her sister and Lysander to be safe.
So she did.
Jude kissed Locke, his lips tasting of honey, and disgust. Locke seemed far more excited about this than Jude did. The kiss lasted longer than it should have; two married people kissing one another, one ready to rip the other's guts out. When they finally separated, Locke grinned. “How I’ve missed doing that.”
“I hope Cardan tears you apart the second he finds you,” Jude prayed lowly, her teeth clenching.
“Again, darling. Cardan doesn’t love you.” Locke laughed again. The laugh shortly ended as his eyes closed when Jude spat on his face. The spit was more blood than saliva, but it was the disrespect that practically put her on death's row. “You bitch.”
“She couldn’t have been far from where she was taken from. Locke wouldn’t travel that far.” Cardan explained as he watched with the Ghost. The Bomb and the Roach searching another area of the woods. The Ghost had been doing more in the trees searching recently, now knowing they weren’t afraid to use heights.
“Your highness,” the Ghost started. “Could I perhaps ask you a slightly personal question?” He finished as he climbed a tree silently, Cardan unaware until he turned to face him.
“I certainly don’t see why not.” Cardan shrugged.
“You love her, don’t you?” Cardan took a pause into his walking, but continued. “I see how you look at her, and how you two were the first night we camped.” Cardan looked at the Ghost in shock at the last part. “Yes, I was awake, King Cardan.”
Cardan was silent, thinking about his answer for a moment.
“I do.” The King nodded as if he was agreeing with himself, “I do.”
“You’re not used to it, are you? The whole being in love thing.”
“No, I’m used to thinking I would marry Nicasia and that would be the end of it. Then she came around and I acted as if I despised her, despised her for being human.”
“Just prince things, I guess.” The Ghost shrugged and hopped back down to the ground. Cardan jumped, startled just a little by the sudden faerie in front of him.
“Yeah, just prince stuff, I guess.” Cardan agreed as he walked farther, the Ghost trailing behind and securing the area and perimeter. “How on earth can we not find them?” Cardan asked in defeat.
“I’m aware, but what if it’s not a big house? What if it was a regular house we excuse as a cabin?” The Ghost stopped and looked around. Cardan stopped as well to look around the ground, perhaps the Court member was on to something. “Or a shed that has a basement?”
“Get the Roach and the Bomb, you’re onto something.” Cardan began to move more, remembering a shadowy figure he saw in the distance that could perhaps be a shed.
Meanwhile, in Jude’s world, she was practically fighting for her life.
Coughing and spitting more blood to the ground, Locke grabbed her by the hair to look her in her eyes. “Learn your lesson yet?”
“Y-Yes,” the girl choked out, “yes. Please.” She tried to regain her breathing, but it was all just struggling gasps and strained words.
“Begging now?” Locke smirked, the same smirk Jude wanted to smack off his face. Jude said nothing, already feeling pathetic enough for begging in the first place. She felt helpless, useless, she felt like anything but Jude. “Do it again.” The man demanded, but Jude shook her head, trying to wipe the sadness off her face and remain emotionless. “I said beg!” He demanded again, hitting Jude’s head against the wall.
The girl let out a pained yelp, feeling her head begin to bleed once again. “Please! Please, stop.” Jude looked up at the man with tears threatening to spill.
“Such a pretty girl,” Locke brought his free hand up to stroke Jude’s cheek. “It’s quite a shame that you’ll die tonight.” Her face fell.
“What?” Her heart dropped, she couldn’t die. She just couldn’t.
“I told Cardan what would happen to you if you knew. And I stay true to my word.”
“You didn’t when you told me you loved me.”
Locke didn’t respond, just dragged Jude back over to her chair and tied her up, tighter than before. “You’re lucky I didn't burn you alive, Jude. And remember, these walls are soundproof so don’t bother calling for help.” The man sneered before leaving the room, up the stairs, and behind the now locked door.
The anger grew inside Jude. She felt frustrated, scared, she wasn’t ready to die. If you asked her years ago if she was willing to die, she would have said if it was for the kingdom, of course. Nowadays, she’s ready to kill someone and go home as if this never happened.
Where would home be? That was the million dollar question Jude could hear the Bomb ask. Where would she go in order to go home?
To Cardan. The answer screamed inside her mind. She wanted Cardan, she wanted him to waltz through the doors and hold her in his arms. She wanted to take out her sword and stand side by side with her husband, Locke and his minions surrounding them as they slaughtered each and every one of them. She wanted to go home.
The pain coursed through Jude, the pain of missing her husband, missing her sister, the pain of Locke’s torment, the pain of being stuck here. It all thrusted into her like a hurricane, causing her to take a deep breath and let out a scream, a scream that if she was heard, people would shatter as they felt what she felt. The scream lasted for a few moments before she sobbed quietly, gathering herself for another scream.
Cardan stopped, looking around as the Ghost came over with the other two members. “What was that?” He asked, getting closer to where he first heard a noise.
“It sounded like a scream,” the Bomb followed Cardan, the Ghost once again taking the trees.
“A familiar one,” Cardan trailed off as he heard another scream. His heart dropped. “That’s-”
“Jude’s.” The Roach swallowed harshly as they all started running toward the sound.
“Locke, no!” Jude snapped her head up as tears stopped falling from her face. Locke dragged Taryn down the stairs, throwing her into the corner and chaining her up. “Locke, please!” Taryn begged her husband, but it only resulted in a slap to the face.
“What part of don’t bother calling for help, did you not understand?!” Locke turned to Jude, whose face grew confused.
“These walls aren’t soundproof, J-Jude. It was a trick so you didn’t call Cardan,” Taryn explained in tears.
“Now he’s probably on his way now. Meaning, I’ll just have to kill you faster.” Locke cocked his head for a moment before he leaned down to Jude’s level. “Tell Taryn what you told me, about you and Cardan.”
“What?” Both of the twins exclaimed, looking at one another.
“Tell her about you and Cardan, Jude.” Locke forced Jude to look at Taryn. Jude thought about it, maybe this was the chance to save both of them. Yet, Jude refused. “It’s because you lied to me. There’s a reason I took pity and dated you.”
“Because you’re an asshole who will never learn to love? You don’t even love Taryn, you love no one but yourself.” Jude spat out, pushing Locke to his last nerve before he untied Jude and his hand wrapped around her arm. He forced her to stand, only then did he grab Jude by the neck and tightened his hold.
Jude held out for as long as she could, acting as if this was just merely a tickle to her. But sadly, her body betrayed her as Locke lifted her off the ground. He stood under her, smirking as Taryn struggled against her restraints. “Locke, let her go!”
Jude could feel her arms bruising at the grip Locke had one her, her neck feeling tight and her airflow slowly stopped. Jude gasped for air, trying to save herself, but her vision slowly began to blur. Her heart rate picked up in panic, no no no. She thought, not yet. Don’t. Not yet!
Taryn’s voice muffled to Jude as she screamed for Locke to stop. “Please! I’ll do whatever you want, Locke!” She begged, and soon, she screamed with the idea that maybe just maybe they’d get rescued in time.
“Keep your mouth shut!” Locke hissed at his wife. The pressure against Jude’s throat only tightened as she could see the blurred grim smirk on Locke’s face, “you’re gonna regret ever coming back.”
“Locke,” Jude strained. “Please…” Tears slid down her face again as her lungs screamed for air. He’s not going to make it in time. She cried to herself. “Please!” Her legs dangling in the air went numb, her body giving out more and more.
Taryn’s head snapped to the side when the doors broke open, her wrists feeling scraped from the cuffs.
“Get your hands off my fucking wife.”
