It was awesome to spend so much time with Aunt Pam, Uncle Ben and their family today. I wish it wasn't under those circumstances but we left today promising to see each other more. We have so much in common with them, and I don't think there's ever a time that I've seen them where we haven't laughed. It was good to talk and laugh with family in general. We saw lots of family members today, even those from the other half of the family that came to show their support. Seems like Grandma Russell touched a whole heck of a bunch of lives! The service was very well done. It celebrated her and the happiness and color that she brought to others' lives. We laughed and cried. Uncle Bruce invited everyone to take flowers from her casket, she loved sharing those with others as well. The flowers were absolutely beautiful. The pastor said that he could honestly say he had never met anyone else that lived life to the fullest like she did. He challenged everyone to continue to learn, and think, "What am I doing to live today? What am I going to do TODAY?" Just live life to the fullest. Like every day is your last. Spread love and color wherever you are. RIP, Grandma Russell. I'm so happy I had the pleasure of knowing you and hearing and sharing stories. You were so loved, and already so missed. <3 (at Winfield, Kansas)

Last night we raised $54,000 at the Great Chefs of the Midwest Gala for the National Kidney Foundation! So there was a pic of a lion in the amphibian area at the zoo. It says that, "Readers get the lion's share" and it's important to read the little blurbs on the animals and only 42% reads them" etc... I read them far more now as an adult. Even if it's the same info as last time... anyways, Ellie looks up and then finds the turtle in the display, and then said, "I don't get it. I found the turtle." And I said, "what's up, girly? What do you mean?" And she said, "I can't find the lion!" She saw the lion on the display and thought that the lion would be in the little turtle display.
