Fairly recently I illustrated a modern version of an old story by renowned Finnish author Zacharias Topelius. It's a story about two siblings who are trying to find their way back home, having been abducted during the Great Northern War. With the guidance of two birds, the siblings are determined to find the big birch that they so fondly remembered from their childhoods, and the star that illuminated its crown.
