I had sex education class yesterday and we were asked to write down on a paper words that we thought of when we were told the word "sexuality".

I wrote "xenogender", "polycule", "sex" and "fetish" 😭 I didnt think they'd write the two first words but THEY DID. AND EVERYONE ASKED WHAT THAT MEAN. At least it was anonymous so people don't know it was me...

My friend wrote "intersex" and it was put on the white board. Someone asked what it meant and the teacher quickly resumed it but it was so fucking unnacurate (No, intersex people dont "indentify as something in between") so I asked the teacher if I could add someone to help people understand and did a whole speech and the two teachers looked at each other, LOOKED IT UP (One was a biology teacher, dawg thats your job to know????) and said "you resumed it pretty well."

I dont know if im happy for the praise or shocked that they had to look it up

Also they said xenogender was "identifying as anything like an animal" but honestly i thought the same at first back in 2020 so i cant be mad at them for this one.. i didnt correct them since othewise I'd have gotten bullied by my classmates for being too woke

Feel free to tell me if I'm misunderstanding something or come off as chronically online, but I hate those posts of like "I hate when people are talking about the rise of censorship and facsism and make it about fandom bullshit"

Cause like, You are aware people in fandom exist in reality, right? You want to discess how normalized censorship is becoming, but hate the idea of people pointing out how it's becoming normalized in niche communities that once stood against that shit.

Like from my expierence, fandom has always been a great meeting point for marganilized communities and people. So the rise in alt-right and fascist beliefs should be concerning. But so many people think pointing that out is proof you're chronically online. But to me it's even greater evidence of how normalized it is becoming.

I remember just a few years ago fandom was a breeding ground for weird shit and believing it should be destroyed was a one-way ticket to getting a callout post made on you and getting blocked on mass. But now saying that doxxing people for writing "icky" things is wrong is enough to get you harrassed for months.

And some of them come across as almost tone deaf, (especially in the US with the current goverment) by saying that "The government should be allowed to destroy media and arrest people for enagaging in immoral degenerate fiction and you're absurd for saying it'll effect communities they've spent years painting as immoral and degenerate."

Like I might simply be Chronically Online (In which I'd love to hear your opinion), but it just seems weird to claim you want to talk about the rise/normalization of censorship then when people dare to talk about how a community filled with those that would be the most hurt by censorship are the ones promoting it the most, you throw a fit cause it's stupid and childish to talk about it.

Like some people just come across like they jsut use facism and censorship for woke brownie points, but vomit at the meer suggestion of an in depth discussion on what it looks like in the current day and how they might be contributing to it.

Like yes, censorship is bad. Yes, facism is bad. But if you don't want to have an in depth discussion on how these beliefs get their foot in the door and gain momentum, don't act like you actually care. (Especially since the people who post about "fandom bullshit" tend to be the most outspoken on current politics and censorship. While the people whining about "how dare you talk about pro/anti shit while we are trying to talk about REAL LIFE" rarely actually talk about it. They'll refuse to give real life examples of it happening and how to stop it. They'll just repost the same "Texas is banning anime" article or Elon doing the nazi salute and leave it at that.)
