Bianca turned around and waved for Crash to follow.

“This way!”

The bilby hummed happily as she strolled along the wooded path, glancing back now and then to see what Crash was doing.

“There are some really cool ones up this way. They’re not too big, but there’s still a lot to see! The walls have these really pretty carved patterns, and from the top, you can see the beach! ….Or the castle, I guess depending on which way you’re facing. But the beach is prettier.”

Bianca watched as the shells fell to the ground and chuckled as Crash gestured to them. Bianca picked them up and put them in her cargo’s pocket.

“Seashells acquired!”

With the choice of what to do left up to her, she thought about the options she had posed moments ago. Weighing the choices, she gave her answer.

“How about we climb some of the ruins? There’s always cool stuff among the rocks!”

The bandicoot zoned out for a bit but nodded when Bianca was talking about how things were going. Crash noticed how happy she was, and that was good enough for him!

And then she had to mention the plants. Good lord, those buggers were annoying to deal with. He been almost eaten by many of them. He nooded his head quickly

Bianca shuddered. It was agreed. Those plants were awful. But then again, so was most everything in those woods. One could get attacked by the local flora, fauna, or even just pits and rocks if they didn’t know where they were going.

“Yeah, the archipelago’s definitely not friendly. But I guess that’s part of the charm! Every day’s an adventure!”

The bilby certainly had an interesting way of looking at things.

“So! Any plans for today outside the nap? Sorry about that, again. Maybe we could climb some ruins or play a game! Oh! Do shells ever wash up onshore over here?”

“Mostly just a lot of science going on, no real world domination in action right now. Not yet anyway. So I’ve just been helping the boss with some new chemicals, working on my baking, even made some new friends! No complaints from me!”

The bilby stopped to take a bite of her own wumpa fruit.

“Gosh, I can’t get over how nice it is out here! If it weren’t for those big snapping plants in the woods, I’d be out this way more often. You ever run into those things? Aw, who am I kidding! You can’t miss ‘em. They’re the worst, right?”

Bianca fumbled with the fruit for a moment before catching it in a good grip.

“Ha! Got it! Nice throw.” She tossed the fruit back and forth, hand to hand as she continued.

“Oh yeah, and uh… maybe don’t tell the boss we didn’t fight if you run into him. Doesn’t really look good on my reports, y’know?”

The mutant bilby stops toying with the wumpa fruit and tears it into two, holding the other half back out to Crash.

“But enough about work stuff already! How have you been? Life treating you well? You and Coco living the dream out here? Oh! what about adventures? Been on any since the last time ya’ fought Doc Cortex?”

She rattled off question after question.
