god designs part 2- POSEIDON!!!

I was originally planning Hera, but I'm struggling a bit with her clothing so she's saved for next instead (I think this one was already done when I first posted Zeus?)

-Obviously the colour pallette needs to be mainly blue! Along with some pink highlights for coral and seashells.

-I liked both the ideas of nets draped over his body and a seashell necklace, so i ended up combining them.

Uhhh design notes:

-I LOVE WHEN PEOPLE GIVE ZEUS CLOUD HAIR!! Its such a cool little trait so mine will get it too.

-I originally went for yellow skin (wanting to give all my god designs a completely unnatural skin tone to distinguish them from mortals) but that was too much yellow for the design lmao. I feel like the colour pallette being grey and white with yellow highlights is the best way to give the idea of a thunderstorm.

-I also enjoy designs with animal features. He gets horns that also continue the thunderbolt motif of his design. I feel like I would've also given him a tail if I were to do this again but idk about that.

I am not sure if this should have TWs, so for now I'll let it like that, I do think the next part (that I have only planned) does, that's why I am not sure on this one.

Tw: SA trauma, I talked a bit about it here so-

I have been thinking of making this for weeks. I'm using the Odyssey tag because I prefer its version of Odysseus' time with Calypso so there's no room for discussion here. I wanted to explore their trauma a little.

I see a lot of posts saying they cuddle together when they have a hard time while remembering those years... Well... I got a take on that :) (I think it's cute, I am the one making characters suffer as a hobby.)

I headcanon several things about them and their trauma. For instance, I think of Penelope being under some subtle threat all those years with so many men around (taking the same vision as the musical just in case, but there's no need for it to be real, I put the tag as a safe measure), no so much since she is the queen, but alas. Also, how much she waited for and missed Odysseus. She has nightmares and she needs to be sure Odysseus is real and is still beside her and not a hallucination.

She needs to make sure he is tangible. She craves touches as a way of reassurance.

In Odysseus' case I decided to explore more his rejection at having Nausicaa's maids bathing him and, well, he is a SA victim. For Penelope, it could happen, but it didn't, for Odysseus, it happened for seven years. I headcanon him not be comfortable with touches of any kind even if there are innocent ones, like hugs, and even if they are from his wife. He can tolerate it if he is the one starting it and he prefers something less invasive, so holding hands like the last picture is a good solution for both of them.

They both understand each other's struggles and want the other to feel better and safe as much as possible.

Modern college AU of the Iliad I did for a concept class last semester 🤩🤩🤩

There are briefs for how the info/roles are interpreted but TLDR Greece (Sparta) and Troy are frathouses and they’re fighting over Helen who is represented by a revered and beloved horse mascot. I think everything more or less gets explained here, as for the ending after Patroclus dies (gets detained) Achilles does his whole thing knocks many people unconscious and then is expertly disarmed by Hektor, eventually ends up getting arrested as well for both trespassing and also aggravated assault, then instead of the two of their ashes getting mixed together in death they’re put in the same holding cell lmao.

Very pleased with the chara section then errmmmmm for my locations I originally had other ideas for their ultimate stylistic execution much similar to what you’re seeing here but probably a bit tighter; in reality these are actually my initial roughs that I colour blocked that I do still like because I fucking hate the ‘final versions’ I otherwise came up with after trying to follow some Advice. So now I’m more inclined to share everything now that I swapped it out finally lmfao
