And the meta fact that Wandercrab was conceived as a thematic opposite of Sugarteara, and Eel is meant to be the manifestation of Wandercrab and its philosophy in the form of a person should absolutely be discussed as well. He's the guardian of Wandercrab first and a person second. Hell, that's the reason he wasn't really given any sorta character conflict, it's cuz he already fulfills his role in the story as he is! Which gives HUGE potential for us fans to interpret this (admittedly smart) decision of the writers as a natural part of Eel's character. His lack of character conflict IS IN ITSELF his character conflict. He's there to drive other characters' development, not to have his own. He's there for other people, so his own issues don't matter. And he's totally absolutely completely 100% fine with it you have to trust him he would never lie to you right!!!!

Midnight zone Nomad.

Inspired by Yeti crab, this is another old skin before the official one came along. I mainly wanted them to be more combat-oriented, having to survive the savage creatures that lurk in the depths. Living alone and surviving day by day, this version of Lobster keeps their crystal claw sharp and ready for any predator and prey that might be lurking around.

IMAGINE- (and this is a little au of mine at this point, cause no way they would take them in this direction, Devsister, I need them in Kingdom, pls) them following Strawberry Crepe and Expresso cookie to the Vanilla Kingdom to learn both how Sysmic activity works, and the architecture ways for structures to be able to live through earthquakes with minimum damage. Plus, Strawberry Crepe will gladly gobble up any information about the former Sugarteara city, and other underwater cities and their technology. Maybe they’ll even make some golems that will work underwater, who knows…

Of course, their departure will need some convincing. But, after Electric eel and Abysal Monarch cookies offer to take up Lobster guardian duties in case of any danger, they would have no excuse not to follow Strawberry Crepe.

Plus, I think a Lobster and Pure vanilla interaction would be VERY interesting…

Don't worry, the universes didn't merge. That was a HORRIBLEY mistranslated piece of info from a korean-only livestream with western fans who could barely make anything out using google translate 🙄. What the dev team actually meant is that they would be connecting plot points across the different universes. That showed in this update when the Republic and Tearcrown were introduced. Not the same version of these places as CRK of course, they'll have their own lore unique to this game alone. And don't let ANYONE tell you this is Longan's doing, that just proves they didn't play the Dragon Finale whatsoever. In it they bring up that Longan is at risk of tearing through the veil of time altogether and causing untold amounts of chaos, but these efforts are twarted by Timkeeper and her entire TBD working behind the scenes of the war to repair the damage, so the timeline is saved thanks to these efforts.

That.. makes a lot more sense. There would be WAY too much confusion to handle if the universes actually did merge, especially with characters who exist in both games. And yes, the dragon finale made it incredibly obvious that Longan. Was. Defeated. and the only true remnants left of their plan were the dragon orbs, but there were no strange plans in motion to somehow break through the multiverse or anything like that, and if there were, they were very quickly thwarted. Good to know. Thank you.

I LOVE NEOTEARA!!! I love this story!!! I love this update!!!

I mean at first i was like "dang what's a land cookie doing in my sea cookie story" but now I just think its cuteeee I mean look at themm

Friendships developing, cities coming back to life and science going on in the background. Plus the whole angst fest that old teara was. 10/10 combo.

I mean we also got well awaited Sugarteara stuffs (finally we actually get a flashback CUTSCENE instead of a narration) so who can I blame really (also i love the dynamics between Octopus and BW!!! baby BW is so so cute and innocent and i think the flashback REALLY emphasises the absolute puritan wreck the old city was. I mean how can you look at this child and go 'actually they're not worthy of this city goodbye go die' and there's Octopus who obviously despises this rule but has to go along with it anyways because EVERYTHING would be at jeopardy otherwise. Ugh my heart)

I also like how moch and lobster are basically the village elders? Who are leading this whole community and its actually awesome I love this i love their dynamic especially with their while history!! The little logbooks during the contrucrion of Neoteara are so cool as well!!

Plus the Wandercrab gang are an incredibly fun bunch as always (love them all)

I was worried a little, when they said this update would merge the two universes (crob and crk) together because of the whole deal with seaf and tearcrown, but they werent mentioned at all which i think is a good thing because otherwise the execution may have suffered.

15/10 update. First 10 points because its a Sugarteara update, and the other 5 for just being an awesome story :)

And there goes my postupdate ramble *mic drop*
