If They Could Love
Nobody understood why it made her so queasy. He drove with his hand sticking out the window. Everytime she saw him in his stupid red car she wanted to lean over and hurl. Each passing moment she was waiting for his hand to be torn off by a tree, or a mailbox, or even a semi that drove a little too close. She could almost picture how bloody his hand might be. When he passed her in the hall or driving down the road she just wanted to shout, "for Godsake keep your hand inside the car!" Alas her friend's told her "it doesn't matter" and "why do you care so much?" She couldn't help it. It made her sick. Why couldn't he be more careful? Besides, he's too skinny anyway.
And there she was. Standing in the middle of road. He slammed on his breaks, as she gingerly bent down to pick it up. The turtle instantly swallowed itself back up in its shell. He watched as she carried it from the road and gently place it back in the grass. He wanted to shout at her to "be more careful!" and "don't take any risks over things that aren't worth as much as you!" But when he looked at her, she was sunlight. She was alight with such a glow: how could he reprimand that pretty face? He didn't know her that well, there is so much mystery to the sun. Besides, she was heart broken anyway.

It’s a Nightmare
Everything was bright white. Glaring, screaming white. And there was this feeling. Feeling. Feeling a thousand bugs crawling up and down her spine. A thousand needles being pressed down into her back. She wanted to scream, to roll away. Frozen. Her mouth was open but nothing came out. It was filling up. The bitter metallic liquid was sloshing between her cheeks.
One. Two. Three.
Spit. Sputter. The blood came flying from her lips, splattering across nothing. The blood became water dripping onto the floor. Flowing faster, faster, faster until waves started crashing around her. I’m drowning. I’m drowning, thudded between her ears. She spun on her heals and...
A dark room. Twisted, dark, spiny trees erupted from the walls, the ground.
“Where are you?” she heard her voice call. The words sounded like her’s but they did not originate from her mouth. I know you’re here.
That’s when she thought she saw the shape. Lurking in the dark. Then it was gone. She took a step forward, and suddenly she was back. Back, back, backwards. Something was on her face. Sticky. It was sticky. She brought her hands to her face. For the briefest second she was looking at herself. Black goop leaked out of her eyes.
There it was again. She could see the shape. He was coming for her. He was chasing her, but she couldn’t move fast enough. Moving was as if she were walking through jelly. She didn’t know who it was. She couldn’t see him. I want to see you! I need to know who you are! I want to see. Turn around. Turn around.
Suddenly, the man darted through the trees, and she could to. Running, despite the hurt. She had to catch up to him.
Then a shout. Her shout.
“Show me your face!” The shout reverberated off walls that weren’t there, and echoed back to her.
And there he was. A faceless shadow ensnaring a hand around her throat.
“Wake up before you get stuck here." He snarled.
