after much work and funkiness.....CHAPTER 3 IS HERE!!!!

and we're giving y'all a monster

this thing ended up being over 8,000 words and has 2 pieces of art

since we essentially missed 2 updates (thanks american healthcare system) @s0lar-1s and i are giving y'all something nice to chew on ;)

the ao3 writer curse hit me in the kneecaps

BUT!!

im actively working on chapter 3 as we speak! idk how long itll take for me to catch up so im not making any promises, but it should be fairly soon!

this one is gonna be a MASSIVE chapter (over 6000 words) and will feature the largest/most complex character art ive done to date

im leaving the teaser under the cut, @s0lar-1s and i hope to see yall soon!

On the bright side, the situation seems to be resolved, and Chapter 3 is going to be EXTRA LONG! Yaaaaay, content!!

TLDR? We’ll have Chapter 3 up as soon as possible! Thanks for your interest and patience! 💙 We love y’all!

Bonus teaser for Chapter 3 under the cut! We’re letting Volt out of the box…

At the exit to the Breaker Box stood an imposing figure, most certainly the door Eddie had called “Dorian” in passing. He was even taller than Volt himself, set in a stance making clear that nothing was getting past without his say so.

Definitely Dorian, then.

He raised an eyebrow at Volt’s approach, otherwise still as a statue. Volt met it with a grin and a brief wave of his hand.

“Well, who might you be then?” Amp, even his voice was rich as a sturdy wooden door. “I can't say I’ve seen your face around here before.”

Volt gave a playful little bow, something he felt Eddie spark anxiously at (‘Behave!’).

“Ah, hello there! My name is Volt. A pleasure to meet you. I’m the— ah… new help for the Breaker Box. Eddie brought me in.”

Dorian’s eyes widened in recognition at Eddie’s name, the man giving a small nod as he stepped easily to the side.

“Oh, of course. Glad to see he’s not going to be running the power here alone anymore.” Dorian paused. “If… you’re sticking around, that is.”

Volt clicked his tongue, flashing the door a wink that made the man’s cheeks flare red and shoulders tense slightly.

“If I have any say in it, I’ll be around for quite a while.” He hummed. “I don’t believe we’ve been properly introduced, so you'll have to forgive me for guessing, but I have to assume you’re the door.” He let his eyes rake over Dorian’s form, taking his sweet time with crossed arms and weight leaning on one leg. “Truly a masterful piece of craftsmanship, I must say.”

Dorian coughed into his fist, suddenly seeming far more shy than he had when Volt first approached. Cute.

“Ah, well, yes. Call me Dorian. I’m just the closet door here, nothing special.” A small pause. “Front Dorian’s really the one you should be talking about like that. But enough chit chat— you should get going. I’d hate to hold you up.”

Volt waggled his eyebrows, finally stepping past Dorian with a lingering pat on his shoulder.

“Well, I’ll just have to pay him a visit then, won’t I?” He smiled, more genuinely, though still just as flirtatiously as he dragged his claws gently over Dorian’s arm. “Truly, lovely to meet you my dear. I look forward to seeing you outside the breaker every night.”

Dorian’s breath hitched slightly at the touch, though he let Volt go with a small, flustered nod, settling back into place.

As soon as they were out of earshot, Eddie’s voice bouncing about their skull had Volt barely stifling a laugh.

‘Volt, what the fuck was that?!’

“That, my darling, is called making a first impression~”
