Definitely not one to think about this kinda stuff, I'm not one to gloat. But I do really love the greater picture of positivity that this has. Everyone, EVERYONE has good about em, and you should know it! So if I tagged you, and you feel the same, think of it as a positive reflection. Take a second to think about things you do, are good at, or whatever else just makes you awesome and thankful for being able to contribute something to the world.
Thanks for tagging me @bengieengie!
My height. I'm 6'5" (almost 2 meters). It does provide some headaches here and there (literally and figuratively lol). But, people have said combined with my gentle personality, it makes em feel safe. I like to be able to provide that for folks.
My patience. This is something I'm so thankful for. It's gotten me into some bad spots before but its lead to a lot of great oppertunities too. With a large majority of things, friends have told me I have an immense amount of patience. It doesn't mean things don't get frustrating, difficult, or upsetting, but I hold steady.
My tech-environmentalism. I'm a huge believer in fixing things, rather than replacing. Throwing away things, particularly electronics, means they end up in landfills. That's a lot of resource wastage. I love fixing or repurposing things, even if it doesn't always make financial sense. Not everyone does that. Not everyone should, or has the means to. But I love putting my tech knowledge to work, to make it happen for my own stuff.
My love of inspiring others. Sometimes folks just need an extra boost in life with whatever it may be. Helping or guiding effectively is not a skill everyone has. And not everyone needs to. I do love helping and encouraging folks to do great things.
My love of my art. This is something every artist should have. If you're not making art for yourself or to express yourself, who are you making it for? Sadly, not everyone does. Doing art as a hobby luckily means I can make some of the goofiest silliest just fun loving things. And I do like that.
ALRIGHT YOU GOOBERS, ITS YOUR TURN @noxeorn @dandirandi-blog @leafcup @mewnikitty @xan-zenith @almaroy @jdg84arts @itzcaseyxd @melon-pope @invader-fink
Firstly, when you get this, you have to answer with 5 things you like about yourself, publicly. Then, send this ask to 10 of your favorite followers (non-negotiable, positivity is cool)
Tysm!
Okay, this is gonna be difficult BUT
1) I like my hair
2) I like my eyes
3) I like my writing
4) I like my aesthetic
5) I like the fact I'm a bookworm
Instead of sending asks, I'll just tag my mooties/friends here!! ;
The sweet and coolbeanz you, @izumi-miffy
The one and only @3thereality
The awesomesauce @stareyeofficial @chuchucharlie @itzzkaylaaa @crazed-transbian-lunatic and @saturnidiot
My dear @finnosaurusladiesman217
And the love of my life, @h0neybun-xx
That makes 9 people but I don't have any more moots, so that'll suffice I think!

Go check out my friend Randi's art blog! She's got SO MANY heccin art pieces posted and so many more coming in the future. She does Invader Zim and original art. Her skill in all areas always has blown me away. She could really use some support!
They're having a VERY important discussion, mind you.

Newly finished character drop... this time, heccin
RATCHET!
Like Clank and Kit, he's also a game file yoink from Rift Apart. Base model and textures. Material work and fur were all hand made by me though.
And man, what a learning experience doing a fur system was. Gonna be talking about it in the post. Sharing some knowledge and a really helpful YouTube tutorial video. Click the spoiler to see all that.
If not, enjoy the poses above! He's all done!
And yes... #2 is exactly what you think it is. LOL.
The process of fur-ing my Ratchet model actually started back in January. Crazy i was crazy once. Below is my first attempt ever. Whoof. Haha. I had never done such a thing before, it was all new territory. Combing the hair, getting the density right. Getting the heccin MATERIALS to be right. So much to keep track of.
And to top it all off, many tutorials were outdated. Blender Geo-Nodes, what's responsible for the hair systems, keep changing over time. So even kinda new tutorials were outdated.
Combined with Rivet, who's gonna be coming soon, I probably redid their fur systems a combined dozens of times. Each time though it was worth it, because it got better and better. Each new time I learned more and more.
Material work was actually probably the trickiest. I eventually settled on a Cycles Toon Shader node setup and dumped the Principled Hair BSDF node. It gave better results that were truer to the game.
Basically, lots of trial and error. If anyone is going into this in a similar spot (never trying it before) expect your first fur system to suck. Keep trying, because you will eventually get it. It just takes practice and maybe a few tutorials haha.
Also, here's the tutorial I used that was finally able to get me jump started on making decent looking fur systems https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csXjfrJ0DIY
That's it for now! He's all done, rigged, fur-ed, and everything in between. Can't wait to make some awesome scenes with him, Clank, Rivet, and anything else.
You've read this far, here's the neutral poses too! Gif was too large to upload, :(((

HERE IT IS!
Back when I was ripping Clank I also snagged Kit's model. Her character has a special place in me heart, it was actually a random YouTube video recommendation of her cutscenes from Rift Apart that got me into the series. I loved her character it made me want to play the game and before I knew it I was CONSUMED.
She was a lot of fun to assemble! Base model and textures ripped from the game, its trickier than it seems to convert everything to a good looking rigged Blender model. The game textures aren't straight forward, the mesh is triangulated, weight paintings screwed. Even the mesh for the eyes took some reworking to get that "lightbulb behind a mesh" look her and Clank have in the game. Poses are all modeled after the game too! Gotta say, the facepalm (last one) she does in the game never fails to be hilarious. This otherwise shy, innocent, methodical character just expressing sheer disappointment at what Ratchet did is hilarious.
Got more R&C, IZ, and random Blender arts coming soon!

I made this a bit ago, it could perhaps be called a little taste before I post the "showcase" renders of my Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart Blender assembled model of Kit!
I heccin love the Rift Apart end credits "thank you" scene so much, its so adorable and Kit's pose is just so cute. So I tried to re-create it quick with said model/rig. It ain't perfect but its the best I could do with the size and proportion accurate game model.

A personal project as a bit of change of pace. This was one of my first dives into full scale realistic Blender scene creations (with the help of some things from Blenderkit haha). I tried to go for more of a moody nostalgic feel, my family used to visit here when I was younger. It's the Food Lion (a grocery store chain) in Avon, North Carolina. Replicated more or less in Blender haha, I was using substantial Google Maps.
Believe it or not, but this was also one of the first scenes I've made where I've ran into a technical limitation of Blender. The fog glow you see ended up being a lot of manual work and not compositing. Basically setting it up the way its supposed to be set up (verified with others), my environment fog cube wasn't filling the scene properly when the render was split apart into render layers. I wanted to do render layers because I wanted the lamps and MINI headlights to glow different amounts.
So after much trial and error, and no success, I ended up still using render layers. But instead I merged more together and simply manually edited the effect with Photoshop. 0/10 not a good flow for making an animated sequence, which is what I was hoping to practice with this scene. Either way, still fun!
Oh also the MINI Cooper there was entirely modeled by me. Twas my first car model. It took some time thats for sure haha and there's still quite a few things not perfect about it.

BACK AT IT AGAIN WITH ANOTHER PLANET THING-EY
This time, Veldin! A planet from the Ratchet and Clank universe. Described as a backwater planet, this is the site of quite a few happenings throughout the game series. It's also Ratchets home world. It's dry, devoid of much interesting *enriching* things, and is generally probably a pretty terrible place to live. If Nevada or Utah were a planet, it would definitely be Veldin.
This lad was made entirely in Blender, and is made entirely with procedural materials! It doesn't quite look like the reference from the game (the 2016 PS4 game has the highest quality picture) but I just joke its a different side of Veldin haha. It works.

There's the reference image I used, from the PS4 game. CLOSE ENOUGH.

REBLOGGING NICE REBLOG
@nmtltlz these were such nice reblog tags I had to reblog em again. THANK!!! :D ITS SO TRUE. This past December was my first experience with it, starting with Rift Apart. Then it devolved (evolved) into emulating the PS2 and PS3 games (dont own a playstation lol). THEY'RE SO GOOD. *more folks need to play it, its an experience* Glad you enjoyed the model hehe, thanks for the kind words!
BLENDER ARTS FROM THE DEPTHS
I recently got into a lil PS2/PS3 game series called Ratchet and Clank. Great series, full of life and so many jokes. Definite 10/10. Richard Horvitz and Wally Wingert are even in it. You can probably imagine what Horvitz sounds like doing his roles... yea. ITS GREAT.
Anyways, this is Clank! Ratchet's sidekick backpack lad. I ripped the model and textures from the PS5 game and reassembled them together in Blender. For having all the models and textures already, the process was actually quite tricky and time consuming still.
The lad was rigged and posed for these shots, done by me! It was great lighting and posing practice. Some of these poses are from imagination, otehrs like the first one is a remake of the Secret Agent Clank (PS2) cover haha.
It was tons of fun! A great way to get back into Blender character creation again

3 goobers floating through space...
This funny idea popped into my mind the other day so it had to be made. This is a HECK of a crossover lol. Made in Blender, Clank and Wheatley rips from their respective games. I haven't actually shared the other art with these 3 goobers where GIR is 2D. Decided to make him 3D for this one.
All around a fun lil silly piece. Feel free to use for a background if you'd like! It should be in 4K.
CHECK OUT THE ALTERNATE TOO- While posing GIR, he accidentally ended up looking like a surfer dude. So I grabbed a satellite model off of Blenderkit and heccin made it happen.

Lil update on things
This was uhh... supposed to be done a bit earlier, it took longer than expected. This was the update I mentioned about 2 weeks ago.
It's an update of where I was in 2024, and my mental health journey. As some of you might know, I struggled with depression and depressive symptoms tremendously throughout a good part of last year. There was ups and downs, lessons learned, and journeys made.
2025 has been different, the past few months have been wonderful. I decided to write about my journey through navigating the mental health troubles of last year in the hopes it will help others navigate as well. It's also an update of some things I did in 2024, to keep it lighter. It includes tips, some personal commentary, and lessons learned. It's very long (which is why it took so long to write lol), but packed full of anything I thought could be useful to someone also struggling.
Hope it helps someone out.
After this and another "backlog" post, art and other fun stuff will start a-flowin' again!

Thank you so much for this Nox, I love this so much! I always enjoy seeing your style, and seeing him in traditional to boot is such a treat. Your blending and shading with this are a sight to behold. I love the pose and the way his coattail flaps in the breeze. Thank you so much again!
Sudden traditional drawing with Virm as a gift for @bluecolty
I just wanted to try to do something with pencils after so many years, as well as wanted to draw Blue's 2nd oc for months already, so I just did both at the same time xD
The list of materials I used is under the cut
3 mechanical pencils. 0.5 HB, 0.5 2B, 0.3 2B
Occasionally the regular faber castell pencil 3B (very rarely)
Hobby knife to crumb some graphite from 3B pencil to smudge it later (was done only on the lower part of bg)
Paper blending sticks #6, #5 and #2
Faber castell kneaded eraser
the cheapest A4 album LMAO (i swear the paper in it is thinnier than regular a4)
