I've had to deal with an passing in my family along side some other stressful complicated stuff that has come from that passing, and It's kind of sucked the life out of me. I have posted late usually i post my fairy of the month the day before the 1st or on the 1st and here i am a week latter and this is the first time in months that I've missed putting my fairy up. I've kinda lost my grove in work and art and I'm just kinda...not sad but going through the motions. so ill post more latter this month but right now I'm just not in the right head space.

Pride Month Book Review
Tumblr media
Books I Listened to From Audible, not listed in any particular order.  I will give a very short thoughts on the books and a rating 1-5 but I wont say too many spoilers if any.
1.❤️
Bridesmates By Sydney Smyth
I think its funny in any romance story, when someone comes home and has high school drama and then it turns into “you were always my soul mate” romance. Funny, Cute, and short. About 2 hours. I say if you just want a good happy ending romance that’s not to stressful this is a good book.
I would say about a 4/5, its simple its well told and its just kind cozy like a lot of recent romances are lately.
2.🧡
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller.
I think Millers take on these old Greek tales are refreshing and this is no different then her Circe book in the fact that Miller just gets it. I admire that she understood the friendship/ partnership between Achilles and Patroclus and how this feel more like Patroclus book then any one else’s.
5/5
3.💛
 Deathbound by Heather Palmer
Gotta Love a good fantasy with a strong Heroine. An audible exclusive. I also love a female knight story, where the daughter has to hold the honor of her family more or less. Also, a princess and the knight story that doesn't annoy me is a bonus. Also also, I love Freya Mavor reading for the main character. With an Scottish accent, I just was so in in love with the narration.
4/5
I do not think it’s a perfect story/ fantacy and a part of me tossing up giving it a 3 or a 4 but I think it’s good enough I’d suggest it to others on a 4 out of 5 biases.
4.💚
Murder At The Patel Motle By Maulik Pancholy, Zackary Gardy, Achilles Stamelaky.
OMG I didn’t know how badly I needed to listen to something this funny, well written and acted out murder mystery! This story is funny and well put together, like listening to a game of clue, or that nostalgia of Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boys. With allot of humor. I love that Audible will have these series that are all voiced by actors for the charters and have well done sound effects.
If you want a story about a Guy going home to see his family and it all goes to hell in hand basket then go take a listen.
5/5
5.💙
Anita Blake (Overall Series) By Laurell K. Hamilton
I love the Anita, and I love the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series. And I’ve been listing to them on Audible from book one on up. It’s a bit easier to pause those books and listen to others (like listed above) since I feel like I know the world and its lore inside and out. Vampire, Witch's, Werewolves and Were animals of all kinds, as well as complicated magic system with the human world trying to adapt to supernatural creatures being a real thing with trying to make new laws and rules to make everyone happy . An out of the closet situation for allot of beans that aren't traditional human. The world building is very interesting.  But I wanted to note this Book Series as not only one of my favorites but as a series that dose talk about A LOT of LGBTQ+ topics both with Anita's own journey from Straight monogamist life style to Bisexual person (or sometimes called Pan) polyamorous life style.
So, if you want a long-haul story with allot of LGBTQ elements and is a Journey of people having both supernatural and very human issues well I suggest this. I've been so happy listing to them on Audible witch has all of Laurell K. Hamilton books in there catalog.
I don’t think I need to Rate my Fav series but 5/5.
---------------------------------------------------------
One of the big reasons I choose to do an Audible review list for June is because the exclusives and well done performances they have is amazing. As well as their large range of inclusive books and stories.
Tumblr media
I will say I think I'm getting better with my own writing. Sorry if my spelling or grammar is a bit off, I am getting better bit by bit. I did make it a goal that I would blog not only to show off my art but also to better my self.

Book Reviews (May)
May 2025
Tumblr media
Creepers series by Edgar J Hyde (I feel like any one with the last name Hyde is destined to write spooky stuff)
I collected the next set that the dollar store put out, previously I've reviewed what was labeled books 1-5. Witch are republished books from the 2000s era. I feel like I would never have really read these before but the dollar store having some good section lately, I’ve read allot I normally wouldn't. Once again these are reprints of books that came out during the goosebump phase of early 2000’s popularity. I don’t think there as good but they still are fun as children horror. Let me also say the reprint Covers are so pretty! I am numbering by the number by what is on the dollar store edition not when the first prints were printed and yes it makes a difference when looking up Hyde's books.
6. The Gravedigger (originally published 2007)
A spooky cold opening of the surroundings of the House the main characters live in. A storm knocking out the power makes the setting of the first chapter feel uneasy. As two kids try to scare each other. I have to say this beginning of this book from Hyde made me more intrigued and made it seem like one of the better openings to his books so far. Plus, it goes into the humor of classic monsters in a way I think is good with the vibe of the book but isn't too much of a distraction to insult the book being in the kid horror or spooky genre rather than humor funny category. A bit goofy but still intriguing to find out who the evil Gravedigger ghost sprite thing is trying to get them to leave the house. Also, I get that the ending was a happy one but I do feel like there could have been more and also this set up did feel like there could be a longer story or maybe go back to this setting and characters. Either way this is a satisfactory children's book and I think liking the ideas and characters is what makes this book good but left feeling empty with how short and suddenly it ends.
Also, it kind of leaves on a cliffhanger so I think maybe that was the idea. Who wouldn't want to hear more from a dysfunctional family, a vampire with blood issues (hemophobia?) and a werewolf who can't stand to eat meat? One can only dream….
7. The Scarecrow (originally published 2007)
I would hate to have the name David Davies. I also wouldn't like living on a farm. Well besides the large land and cute animals. Farm work like crops and chasing foxes away from sheep or chickens…idk. I could understand right away why David would be so bored.
I've never seen a happy scarecrow besides Halloween/Fall coloring pages. So, I can see how they can appear scary. As well as strangers appearing and scaring you in a barn or a coop or just at your home in general where your suppose to feel the safest. The horror in this book is for sure odd and eerie. Also, from the creepy convict in the chicken coop to the creepy note saying god help me, God help us all and more crazy mumble jumble. I'd would have been freaked out if I was David and not just a scarecrow but that makes the whole thing worse.
So odd this one is, odd is the first word that come to mind then eerie. Odd is not a bad thing btw. And I'll remember this one next time I'm looking out at a crop field with a smiling scarecrow. (yeah I did like this one)
8.Cold Kisser (originally published 1997)
Tommy McDonald…wtf is with Hyde giving these characters god awful names? Also, it's funny having a book with big blue lips as the cover opens up with a teenager being subconscious about kissing. As well as the two friends having a crush on the new girl. This one for sure is for young adults or preteens to read. I mostly snorted and rolled my eyes a lot. Also, Sally Anne Dickens is also another horrible name.
This one was probably one of my least favorites of Hyde's, out of all ten. Also, he's written about witch's better in other books so I'm a bit more disappointed that he wasn't more creative. I will say the cover and illustrations were the spotlight. So, props for Chole Tyler's amazing art work for all these books.
Who knows maybe if I was younger or hadn't read Hyde's other works I would have liked this more idk but this one wasn't for me.
9. Doctor Death (originally published 1998)
I'm not even going to comment on the names any more. I think it's on purpose now. I do find this book funny if you think about the real life horrors of malpractice. I do feel bad for Jacob for being put in a situation he didn't want to be in by his mother and she wasn't listening to any of his concerns. Or his accomplishments aka Jacobs basketball stuff.. The true horrors of a parent not listening lol. The doctor was for sure weird and creepy. But everything works out in the end and it's kind of all sunshine and rainbows. It was an okay book.
10.Mirror, Mirror (originally published 1998)
I feel like any book or story with the title chapter being “The Ballerina” is never a good sign. I also feel like Hyde either has an opening page that's really good or really meh. This one with Sophie was good and eerie. Buying old creepy stuff always goes well, right? What could go wrong buying an old mirror 🤔 and an old ballerina doll, on a creepy music box that came from the same mysterious place? I feel like this book has one of the best setups for a more classical horror. That can be followed by kids or even told at a sleepover or campfire. I will say out of all Hyde's books this is the only one that seems familiar. With it being originally published in 1998 I might have read it when I was younger. Also, I think the story and the ending had good passing. The ending is that of leaving the kids alone for the weekend then coming back and being what possible could have happened? With the older sister being like “boy mom do we got a story for you” I'm not quoting forbidden but more less the last sentence.
I'm happy that out of book 6-10 this was the one to end on. I feel like it's a real and true hit or miss with Hyde's books. I know it's for kids and fairly simple story telling but there are just some books that are better done than others.
I don't get mad that Hyde isn't the best writer, that's one thing I'll try to never knock on someone's books or story telling since I'm awful at grammar as well. It's done well enough I can read and understand what's happening and to me the story part is what is important.

Impact Winter & Impact Winter Season 2 by Travis Beachem
Season 1
Book or season one makes it clear this is very much so a radio like show program. The chapters are divided into episodes. About 5 and half hours. The sound effects, music and background noises are done very well. It's a post apocalypse story where it's been 7 years since a meteor hit. With an blanket winter and endless nights. The descriptions given make everything feel a bit hopeless. which is fair with only a few servers things seem intense and a bit cold. When I first heard in the first few chapters what the monsters were I thought they were zombies but no they are different types of vampires. Which makes sense because they are manipulative human-like monsters. With 3 different variants, the servers have three different types of danger to watch out for besides the harsh environmental dangers from the fall out of the meteor. Like in any apocalypse there is issues with the group trying to survive together, part of me when these very social issues pop up can’t take it seriously and have to find it humors. Like something about everyone dying and people trying to survive and there still are two sisters who are managing to have fights and spats at each other. To me that’s just funny.
Darcy and Hope are two decently written sisters in this messed up world. There paths divided and you actually feel allot of emotions for them, sad, mad and can relate if you have a sibling. As much as I like making fun of them and the more human elements of this story.
The vampires that are first introduced and captured do come off creepy and manipulative with good voice acting (Penelope voiced by Caroline Ford). Also, I should mention that this story takes place in the countryside of Britain in a castle as the fallout shelter. Then more tragedy happens as someone you wouldn't imagine choosing vampire hood, dose, and it's all sad, emo and dramatic. And that's where I'll stop talking about the plot.
All and all I'd say this is for anyone who likes apocalypse survival stories. Monsters, fallout shelters and family drama. And Liam Cunningham Voice acting or just acting in anything will always be amazing. As well as a couple other notable actors. (Mostly from got) I feel this would be so easy to spoil so I'll move on to season 2. Please go listen if what I have written about sounded interesting at all.
Impact Winter Season 2 by Travis Beachem
(Loved the recap in the beginning and the narrator whoever reads it, a grate reminder the voice acting/ reading is amazing.)
The biggest spoiler I will give for this season from last, is everyone who mattered lives on and has new issues ahead of them. Darcy and Hope are just...fine...(sarcasm). Its Been six months after the end of the first season. (wish Felix died)  Hope being the best person she can be with everything changing around her with Penelope by her side (I always have to sing Penelope's name after listing to Epic the musical, not that, that has anything to do with anything just something I wanted to inform everyone reading) . Darcy, Hopes sister who's a vampire (the big plot from season one) being the chosen one to end the vampires/the endless winter and all the drama that come with that with Felix (he's more unnecessary drama if you ask me) .
End the endless night, is a funny sentence to me.
Also MORE Vampire lore! Opens up with a group of powerful sounding vampires talking about Darcy and how dangerous she is.
Each sister has to make allot of choses the other may or may not like. Witch is why the cover for this season has the sisters facing each other. Hope is someone who will always and forever try to get to Darcy and will always love her sister. Darcy though would do the same, always has had the issue of being the one everything big or life threating issues, who's shoulders it all falls upon. Or what I would sarcastically call main character syndrome.
Short and sweet, dose this hold up to season 1? Well, it still being a tale of two sisters; it does make everything feel bigger then what it is. The apocalypse is still apocalypse-ing with new dangers but same old dangerous, and the world still going to shit around them. I'm beginning to think though a lot of people come back to listen to this series for the very spicy or seductive or pull you in voice acting, like voice's can paint a picture. And deep or breathy whispering, or tones can also make the story feel some type of way. NOT that, that's a bad thing it, just something I noticed.
I think this is very much set up for season three or it was just underwhelming. Whichever it is, I know there going to be more seasons and maybe I'll desiccate a full review for season three and give more opinion's about spoilers stuff, like the plot and characters and character growth. I will say this is giving a little bit of Underworld vibes which is fine, I'm not a big fan of Darcy but her journey is interesting enough for me to recommend and continue on wards with Impact Winter.
And with that I am almost caught up with my monthly review lists 🎉Just June to go! I have been having fun ranting a bit about different books I've read or listen to for my new year's resolution!

Book Review (March & April )
I will give short reviews that is mostly my options and very few spoilers and just kind of an open thought prosses of the book without saying anything vital.
March
1. Nancy Drew: The Secret Of The Old Clock By Carolyn Keene (1)
Wow What a classic! Published in 1930! I feel like most of these titles are very self-explanatory to what to expect the mystery to be. I will say this is a good introductory book as well if any one (mostly younger people) want to get into Nancy Drew mysteries. This from the first chapter intradoses her, her personality and her back ground (her dad where she’s from)I will personally say this is not Nancy’s strongest mysteries it’s just kind of the most iconic being the first one ever. But there are many better books/ mysteries that after reading a lot of Nancy the clock one dose seem a bit simple or lack luster. Grate beginner but is not the best mystery per say.
2. Nancy drew: The Mystery at Lilac Inn By Carolyn Keene (4)
Also Published in 1930. I need to mention the illustrations in these OG books are amazing and I’m glade to see them in the revision editions. I feel like this is thee begging of my personal thought that Nancy shouldn’t be around weddings or people about to get married XD. Like only bad thing will happen or at the very lest something odd or unexpected that makes things a bit harder or awkward for the wedding party, but it actually isn’t that bad in this book just the beginning of my theory. Anyway, I will say this one I do always remember fondly of being the book that throws allot more …effort…clues… intensity, to forming the main mystery. Not quite a thriller but it’s a bit more intense then the first three books.
I have herd from allot of people that I need to go listen to the audio book of this, like really heavily recommended to me. So, I might <3  I will say I skipped 2&3 because I didn’t have them on hand to read. As soon as I do I will do a short review.
3. A Fate Inked in Blood by Danielle l Jensen
Man, where to start with my thoughts of this book. Um, I like Jensen’s Bridge Kingdom books. I did not know what to expect from her new book. So, when it came available at my library I picked it up and It was very different from the Bridge Kingdom series, which isn’t a bad thing, it just wasn’t my thing. Aka I should have read the description of the book being “Norse-inspired fantasy romance” and known it probably wasn’t my vibe. Witch one could be like well that’s not too different from Bridge Kingdom books, to which I would say, A I was surprised I liked those books as much as I did, B I like creative world mid evil world building in fiction fantasy then historical based/ inspired fantasy’s. Anyway, By no means was it terrible, it just wasn’t what I like or normally would read. I am glade though Jensen is getting noticed and this book is the thing that has put her in the spot light.

Jezebel By Megan Barnard
Speaking of Highly suggested books, I was able to get this one on Audible. With not knowing anything about the book beforehand. I feel like by the title of the book you can imagine that the name Jezebel is explained a bit and allot of old time commentary about women and womanhood. It’s a bit sad and monotoned in a good way. Thou I will say I enjoyed this historical fiction more than I did a lot of others (like the review above)  Also biblical fiction is always either really good and interesting or really bed and preachy, I’m glad this highlighted the tinge of sadness in such a story in a tasteful manner.  I do think I had about ten bible jokes and kind of was like “wow this Jezebel girl ant that bad” thought once or twice, but I do think that’s part of the reason why these types of books are more popular lately, giving different perspective to people who usually aren’t thought about or are typically labeled bad or evil.
I read a couple of other things in March but these were the most notable that I wanted to bring to attention.

April
Spy X Family Manga by Tatsuya Endo
I caught up on this Amazing manga (witch is also an awesome Anime) and let me tell you be it reading it or watching it. God do I smile and think this is something that can genuinely get me out of almost any kind of bad mood.  A spy needs to fit in his assignment, so he gets an orphan to be his daughter and finds a desperate nervous women to be his wife, but jokes on him his orphan is a mind reader and his wife is an assassin. Witch he hasn’t found out about so far, and the lil girl Anya knows bother her parents secrets which makes for her pov to be humorous, funny. It has a semiserious set up but is light hearted in nature with only droplets of drama and the serous ness of the situation. The story progression of the lives brought together is well passed to me, it’s been giving a lot of time for all three main charters to work through there own issues and see these misfits becoming a family.
ALso the Dog Bond is sooo Cute! and yes there are so many easter eggs and background things referencing other Spy's in media. Mostly Bond but i think iv found a few others.
I don’t read much manga lately but I went out of my way to sit down and catch up on this one. Cute funny and a feels good manga/ story.
On audible
Reborn by Seth Haddon
I did not listen to book one because it wasn’t on the member catalog like this one was (bk2) I don’t know if they really connect or not,(besides being in the same world aka its also called “the World Of Reforged” series)  I was able to fallow this one just fine. This is an MLM romance witch is cool, I think I get allot of LGBTQ recommendations witch is also awesome. This book in particular I remember it as both main charters come from different kingdoms but need to help each other for their respective power struggles of doing the right thing.  So basically, two completely different types of people aka two men who are most opposite to each other need to get along and they do and they fall in love, and then they figure out that there past lives were connected. So, fate is kind of making relive there past lives issues all over again, which is cool I guess. All and all it was an interesting story.
Sometimes I think I’m the worst person to review books sometimes. Or give a short explication LOL
-------------------------------------
I will have my May and June lists out soon. Sorry for any grammar mistakes and spelling errors, I do these blogs so I can get better, slowly but surely. I have faith in myself but also I am always inspired to be motivated to write when I read so many books and want to talk/ rant about them.

I made a pixelated themed Medusa, with i wasn't to proud of but was still cute I think. I Need to work on pixel themed art some more and get a grip on the graphing. But I have high hopes and the pratice art I will post on here for the fun of it. Maybe Ill do a progress post.
I had two versions of the heart snakes this one didn't make it in but it still was different enough from the one I have on Redbubble i still wanted to share it.
The eggs I wanted something bright and colorful for easter/ spring but i just wasn't feeling it or confident in this cute drawing.
The spring sketch book, i think if i had just kept it to the books with the flowers and lady bug i might have done something with it but to me there's allot going on but was good for coloring practice.
Peach fan art but i think there is just to much going on and too much colors. I think its still super cute though.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This Is my current work place, i have my sketch book, my pens and pencils. My notebook to keep track of things and my lappy (laptop) My office area is being worked on, I have a foldable desk and I got the paint for my office. So soon tm I'll get a full on area and not feel so squished.
