Watching 6x04 and something interesting happened. Chakotay went into Janeway's Ready Room, and leaned over to look at her computer screen. I feel like it's not the first time, but I can't quite remember. There's a certain intimacy to that action which I appreciate. Especially since she didn't seem remotely bothered. Idk, maybe it meant something different back when this show was aired, but I would find it quite invasive if I was on my computer and someone came into my room and leaned over my desk to look at the screen. I write journal entries on my computer, as well as fanfiction. Also, my Tumblr accounts aren't something I share with anyone I know irl. On my main one I'll occasionally vent about personal things in my life. I would have to feel EXTREMELY close to someone to be okay with them just casually looking at my computer screen without permission. I don't even think I have someone in my life right now that I feel that comfortable with. Perhaps Janeway cares less, because she doesn't do as many personal things on her computer. Then again, I'm pretty sure Chakotay is the only one who ever takes that liberty. Am I correct?

i have this unrealistic fantasy in my head where if you calmly and logically explain something to someone perfectly they will understand your position and gain knowledge from the exchange. unfortunately in the real world this does not happen often
