It was early in the morning. The sun had just come up not too long ago, dying the sky all kinds of soft pinks and warm yellows. You sat alone in the park, on a swing, thinking about how you were going to confess to your crush but no matter how hard you tried, you came up with the same negative outcome; rejection.

You sighed, aggravated at yourself. “Why can’t I just tell him? He’s just a guy.”

As you continued to practice what you’d say, how you’d potentially be rejected, and scold yourself for being so childish, you heard a familiar voice.

“Y/n? Is that you?”

You quickly lifted your head, relieved that it was just your best friend, Baji. “Oh, hey, Baji.”

“Good morning,” he said as he took the swing to your left. He looked at you smiling, but it faded as he saw your face. “Oh, no. What’s wrong?”

“I’ve got a problem….” you mumbled.

“I’m sure I can help.” Baji smiled.

“It’s stupid but….I have a crush on…" you mumbled.

“Huh? I didn’t hear you. Who do you like?”

“......Chifuyu….” You replied louder.

Baji shrugged. “Oh, yeah, I could tell.” 

“W-what?” You immediately began to overheat.

"Yeah, I knew from the start. When you met him, your eyes turned to hearts."

"Baji, my eyes can't turn to hearts. That's physically impossible." You rolled your eyes at his exaggeration, trying to brush off the burning in your face.

"Well, yours did, ya weirdo." He chuckled.

You sighed. I thought I was being all inconspicuous and stuff….

“You were probably also thinking about and rehearsin’ how you were gonna tell him too, huh?”

You nodded.

“You don’t have to rehearse it, crazy. Just tell him straight up. Be confident, speak up, maybe bat your eyes a bit.” Baji winked.

You giggled.

He continued. “You don’t have to write it down or rehearse it because you always end up messing that up. Love isn’t scripted. Say what you feel.”

You smiled. "Thank you, Baji." You stood up and put your hands on your hips, "In fact, I'm going to tell him the next time I see him.

"What's going on? Y/n, why are you standing like that?" You jumped at the sudden sound of Chifuyu's voice coming from behind you.

“Chi-Chifuyu?! Ah…I mean, heyyy…”

“Well,” Baji hopped off the swing and put his hands in his pockets. “I’ll leave you two lovebirds alone.”

“B-Baji?” you mumbled after him. You sighed as he kept walking and sat back down on the swing.

“Don’t know what that was about,” Chifuyu said as he sat beside you. He looked over at you, making eye contact, green eyes seeming to try and search your mind.

“So, what’s up?” he asked casually.

“Ah…um…you…” You studdered.

“Hm? What’s wrong?” he looked confused.

Just go for it. 

“I think you’re cute.” You said quickly.

“Oh? You think I’m cute? That’s it? Nothing else?” Chifuyu teased.

“Don’t push it.” You replied, embarrassed and feigning irritation.

“Right, right…I think you’re cute too.”

You looked at him. “Really?” “Yep.” He smiled at you. “So…since you think I’m cute…you don’t mind if I kiss you, right?”

“No, I don’t mind, since you think I’m cute,” you replied.

Chifuyu smirked and leaned across the chains of the swing to your face. You let him cup your cheek and watched as he slowly brought himself closer. You closed your eyes. 

Your noses brushed as he turned his head slightly.

Your heart stopped as his soft lips locked with yours.

Unfortunately, Chifuyu soon pulled away. He looked at you, his hand still holding your cheek.

“So, cutie, does this mean I get a date too?”

You were lying on your bed, slowly getting more and more bored. You were about to get up and do something (by “do something” you mean go be nosey) when your phone made a sound.

Looking at the screen, you saw it was Levi:

I NEEEEEED YOUUUURRRR HELLLLPPPP!!!

After hopping off your bed, you ran out the door and down the hall to Levi’s room.

When you got there, you knocked on his door.

Knock, knock, knock.

Instead of making you say some kind of password Levi yelled,

“Y/NNNN, GET IN HERE!!!!”

You burst in, making sure to close the door behind you. Levi sat in front of his TV, with a look of determination and distress. You sat beside him to his left. He paused the game and looked at you.

“Good. I need a healer and you’re perfect. Beel was horrible, he never healed me! What’s the point of playing healer if you don’t do your job?!”

He handed you a controller then scooted a little closer, leaned over, and began explaining what certain buttons did.

“This is to move, obviously. This one is to use your ability. This is to block. You use either of these to dodge.” He said, touching the controller and brushing your hand with his in different places. His face wasn’t too far from yours.

“This is for a basic attack that can be aimed at allies to heal them.”

Levi sat back straight and looked at you. His orange and purple eyes smile into yours.

“Do you think you got it?” He asked.

“Yep!” You replied, smiling back at him.

“Good.”

He put his game face on, eyes filled with determination and a smirk on his face. He faced the screen.

“Y/n and Levi…”

He unpaused the game.

“GOOOO!!!!!!”

The room was filled with the sound of buttons clicking. Both of your eyes were ultra glued to the screen, the bright light of attacks and explosions colored your faces and filled your eyes. Until, finally, you entered the last stage. The game began loading, saying that it was downloading more content.

He turned his head toward you.

“Alright, Y/n, prepare for an ambush. We’re gonna take out the small guys and then charge for the big one since they heal him, okay?”

“Yes sir!” You said, nodding.

Blush adorned his adorable face.

“Oh, sorry, I was really into it, heh…” You apologized awkwardly.

“N-No, you’re f-fine.” He replied quickly.

You both turned your attention back to the screen. It was at 90%.

“Ready…” Levi said as you both leaned over.

“CHARGE!!!”

“We did it! Whoo!”

Levi exclaimed, his hands over his head, still holding the controller in his right hand.

You held out your right fist for a fist bump.

He stared at it for a moment and put his arms down as a pink blush slowly tinted his cheeks and nose. Finally, he raised his left fist and lightly bumped it with yours.

“You did awesome, Levi.” You complimented.

His blush got five shades darker. He looked away from you. “You’re always so nice.”

You laughed.

He looked back at you looking over your features and outfit. He lifted his eyes and made eye contact with you.

“Ah! I-I’m sorry…” He yelled as he turned away from you. He lowered his voice and mumbled to himself. “...Totally caught me staring…”

“O-Oh, yeah there’s this cool puzzle game that came out a couple of days ago.”

Levi took the controllers, stood up, and walked over to his tv. He began setting it up, kneeling on one knee, his back to you as he continued speaking about it.

“I’m sure you can help me get all of the endings. Since you think differently…i-in a good way, you know.”

“Hey, Levi?”

He looked at you from over his shoulder.

“Hm?”

“I like hanging out with you.”

Levi gave you a closed-eye smile, a slight tint of blush on his cheeks. “I like hanging out with you too.” He turned back to setting up the game. 

When he finished he sat back down beside you. 

“I just wish it could be you and me.”

He held out a different controller. You took it and smiled at him.

He fiddled with the controller in his hand. “I mean it, Y/n.”

Levi looked back at you. “I want to keep you all to myself. I don’t care if it sounds selfish……You’ll keep playing with me, right?”

You nodded. “Of course, Levi. I’ll play with you until I drop!”

Levi laughed. “Lol, I like your determination. You better stick to your promise though.”

“Alright Y/n, you ready for the next…oh…”

You lay on his floor clearly asleep.

“You really did play ‘til you dropped, huh?” Levi asked out loud. He took out his phone and looked at the time.

“Ah, 3:27…”

He looked back at you.

“Well…I can’t have you sleeping on the floor…” He looked over at the bathtub.

Levi settled you down in his bed. It was a lot comfier than you thought. “There,” Levi stood with his hands on his hips, proud of himself.

“Ah…where do…….where do I sleep…?”

He looked down at you. “I don’t wanna……fine…”

He lightly shook you and whispered your name. “Y/n…”

Your eyes fluttered open. “Levi…?”

Levi stood over you, a shy smile on his face. “May I…um…”

“...Yeah, it’s your bed, Levi.”

“Oh…um…okay…”

Levi settled into his bed, you snuggly in his arms, facing him. “D-don’t let anyone else do this with you, okay?”

“Mhm.” You hummed half asleep.

“Good. Good night.”

“Good night, Levi.”

“I…love you, Y/n.”

“I love you too.” You mumbled into his shirt as you drifted to sleep.

You and Inumaki sat comfortably snuggled next to each other, gazing at the stars. You two were stargazing, obviously, sitting on a blanket at the top of a hill with a basket of snacks and drinks beside you. Inumaki looked down at you in his arms. Your beautiful eyes were spotted with dots of sparkle from the sky above—a smile formed on his face.

He tapped your shoulder. You looked over at him, catching his violet eyes in yours.

“Hm?” you hummed.

He zipped down his collar and pointed to his lips.

You smiled and sat up. Your right hand cupped his cheek and you brought your face closer to his.

“This is fine, right?”

He nodded.

Your faces moved closer together and you both closed your eyes. Just as your lips grazed his, you heard a voice from the bushes nearby.

“Oooh, Y/n and Toge are gonna kiss~”

That was Panda.

“Really?”

Maki too.

“Yeah, hurry you’re gonna miss it~”

“They’ve BEEN dating, Panda. Why wouldn’t they kiss?”

“Just come on.”

You two had been caught. You let go of Inumaki’s cheek and began to pull away. He wasn’t having any of that.

His hand grabbed the back of your head and pulled you closer to him, pushing your lips against his.

“Bleh, humans are gross,” Panda commented as he and Maki crawled out of their respective bushes to go back to their rooms.

“YOU’RE gross! You watched them!”

“Yeah, but you did too.”

Mitsuya stared out the window. Thunder shook the house, rumbling every surface. It sounded like the sky was cracked open. Lightning came quickly after, bright and beautiful as it lit up his face.

“Ah, guess I’m stayin’ here tonight.” He turned to you, a small smile on his face.

You were laying in bed, secretly hoping that this would happen. “Does that mean…?” You asked.

Mitsuya hummed in response and climbed into bed beside you. He wrapped his arms around you and gently pulled you into his chest so you were facing him. He began lazily playing with your hair.

You both lay there for a while, listening to the rain land on the roof, slowly snuggling closer and closer to each other, letting sleep creep in.

“Hey…” you said quietly, nearly asleep.

“Hm?” he hummed. You could feel the deep vibrations.

“Let’s…stay together forever.” Your voice was barely a whisper.

“Of course, Love. I’ll be with you forever. I’ll love you no matter what. Through your off days and through the days you feel the best. I’ll keep cheering you on.”

With the rest of the energy you had you raised your pinky. “Promise?”

Mitsuya chuckled. He locked his pinky with yours. “I promise.”

With your pinkies still connected you fell asleep.

“I love you.” Mitsuya kissed your sleeping forehead.

You slipped on your favorite hoodie. After seeing a text from your boyfriend, Manjiro ‘Mikey’ Sano, to hang out, you jumped up. You quietly slipped your shoes on as your phone vibrated against your cotton blanket. It was Mikey.

-I’m outside :)

- - Okie Dokie. I’m coming :)

You put your phone in your pocket and walked over to your window. You peeked out the window and were greeted by a smiling Mikey in a grey hoodie waving up at you. When he noticed your figure. You waved back and opened the window. “Jump down. I’ll catch you.” He whisper-yelled. You looked at him hesitantly. You’re on the second floor. You know Mikey is super strong, but that didn’t stop you from hesitating. He smiled softly and held out his arms. “I promise, I’ll catch you, Y/n.” You blushed at his gentle smile and reassuring tone. I hate how much control he has over me. You thought as you puffed your cheeks and jumped. He caught you bridal style. Mikey smiled down at you in his arms. “See, caught ya didn’t I?” you smiled.

“Hey, Pretty Girl.” he said.

“Hey, Mikey.”

Mikey put you down and took your right hand into his left one. “Your hands are always cold.” He laughed. You intertwined fingers and he put your laced hands in his warm pocket. The streets were empty and quiet, but it was nice. After a couple of minutes of talking and laughing, you asked a question.

“Oh, um...where are we going?”

“A nice spot I found that I thought you’d like.” He turned to you and smiled. “It’s quiet and we can watch the sunrise. I’ve never seen anyone there except for me.”

“That does sound really nice.” you smiled.

At the sight, his smile grew wider. “I know, right?”

You stopped at the crosswalk. “We just turn here.” Mikey pointed to the left with his free hand. After one or two blocks you turned right and cut through a parking lot. “Alright, we just have to hop this fence.” He pointed to a fence. Beyond the fence was a thick-looking brush. Mikey went first then helped you over. He took your hand again. “It’s just this way.” After a couple of feet through the bushes, it opened up to a clearing, a giant grass hill that stretched down until it met a river, sand lining it. There were flowers of all colors scattered across the grassy decline.

“Wow.”

“Pretty, huh?”

“Yes, super pretty.”

“Like you.” He booped your nose.

You stopped and blushed. “Um...thank you.”

He led you onto the hill. That’s when you noticed there was a blanket laid out. He sat down on it and patted the spot beside him, “Come sit.” you complied. He put his arm around you and you leaned into his chest. “Your hair smells good.” He said into your hair. You laughed. “Thank you.” He stopped for a moment and pulled away, making you face him sitting straight up.

“Can I ask you something?”

“Yes.”

“Will you stay with me forever?”

You laughed. “Yes, of course.”

“No, I mean it.”

Mikey’s eyes were sad. He brushed the hair from in front of your eyes so he could see your entire face before continuing. “I need you. You make me happy. Even if you don’t love me anymore, please stay around me.”

“I don’t think I’ll ever stop loving you. I won’t leave you, I promise.” you replied, gentle yet firm.

He smiled softly and hugged you.

“Thank you...I just-I don’t want to lose you.” He said softly.

Tears began to blur your vision. Mikey tightened his hold of you and sniffled. “I love you, Manjiro Sano.” You whispered half hoping he would hear, half hoping he wouldn’t.

He sniffled again before answering. “I love you too, [full name].”

Your heart tightened upon hearing those words yet you laughed because he rarely uses your real name unless it’s something like this or he’s messing with you. You pulled back, smiling softly. You both wiped your tears. “Did you really sneak me out to make me cry?” you asked as you wiped your tears with the sleeves of your hoodie. He laughed.

“Seems like it, huh?... Oh, look.” You followed his extended index finger. The sun was coming up.

Its beautiful pink and blue rays lit up your eyes. The water sparkled with color as the sun woke.

You were so engulfed in the sunrise that you didn’t see Mikey smiling at you or him getting closer. His right hand lightly grabbed your chin, turning you to face him. He placed his lips against yours. You were surprised at first, but relaxed after a second. He moved his hand from your chin to your waist and you put your arms around his neck. He pulled you closer to him as you kissed. You both separated after a couple of moments. “I should probably get you home.” He rubbed your cheek with the pad of his right thumb. You pouted. He laughed and booped your nose.

“Let’s go, Cutie.”

“Fiiiiiiine.”

He helped you up. You interlaced fingers once again and he put them in his hoodie pocket.

“That was really nice.” you said, smiling brightly.

Mikey smiled. “I’m happy that you liked it.”

“Alright, get on my shoulders, Pretty Girl.” You were standing directly under your bedroom window. You looked at him confused. “How else are you going to get back?” He asked, raising his right eyebrow.

You sighed then laughed. “I don’t know.”

“Come on then, babe.”

He crouched down and you climbed on his shoulders. He stood up to his full height. You reached your window and climbed inside. After you got in, you poked your head out and gave Mikey a thumbs up. He gave you a thumbs-up back. He put his hands on either side of his mouth and whisper-yelled “I’ll be back after your parents leave.”

You laughed. “You’re bad.”

“You like it.” He winked at you.

You winked back. “I love you, Pretty Boy.”

His eyes sparkled. “A pet name?! Finally!!”

“Q-quite down, you’ll wake them.”

He laughed and apologized. “I love you too.”
