Hi there! I just wanted to pop in and say that I absolutely love your art of Wanda! It’s so refreshing to see her accurately drawn as a Romani person rather than the whitewashed version of her

Nice to see that you’re so proud of racist stereotypes, colourism & the exoticization of Roma! Though what should I expect from someone who’s so hellbent on brownwashing the mcu adaptions where they’re literally whitewashed, made into nazi’s and imbued with racist stereotypes?

you know that ' "this isn't helping your case," says the guy who hates your case' meme? yeah. alrighty, let's get into it. TLDR at bottom

To start off- I don't draw the mcu maximoff's, at least not the way you seem to be implying, it's never been a one:one on scenes, context, etc. my Wanda and Pietro exist in an inherently, fundamentally different alternate universe to the mcu, something that I feel I have been kind of blatant about for years now. My rotoscopes, my still frames, my rewrite storyboards- all of that exist in an inherent alternate universe. I'm addressing it like that specifically because I'm guessing that's where the 'brownwashing' point is coming from (not even going to get into your choice of wording there). The thought that I am drawing my versions the way I do, to more accurately represent the erased parts of their histories and identities.. just to just drop them into a completely unchanged mcu storyline or, worse yet, 'just "brownwashing" the mcu adaptations' as you've stated- is bizarre and almost willfully ignorant. You've made it a visible point that you won't interact with my artwork in a good faith manner, so that point is more for everyone else who may be curious about the circumstances regarding my redraws/rotoscopes/etc.

The mcu versions are absolutely problematic, whitewashed, and are deeply misrepresentative of these characters with decades long characterization- they're not who they should have been. I do not draw those versions. The mcu maximoff's are whitewashed, they have written and verbal stereotypes present throughout their characterizations, and are overall just not great presentations of these characters. guess who's not them? MY Wanda and Pietro. My Maximoff Twins, who are drawn to be visibly Roma and who exist as non-mcu interpretations, who I have done my best to more accurately portray and represent, as well as the aspects, details, and characterizations that have been removed and disregarded. MY Wanda is not mcu wanda, MY Wanda exists in a hypothetical alternate universe separate to the current mcu and it's ongoing story, she as well as my Pietro are not victims to the mcu or their considerable, atrocious choices.

Moving into the the stereotyping comment- I'll fully admit I'm never perfect. I will also take point that I do my best, and that my interpretations are ever changing. My Wanda and Pietro are born of love, influence, inspiration, and creativity from Romani activists, Roma actresses, Romani artists, information sites, history blogs, books, many points in the 616 comics, as well as the dearly appreciated input from Romani friends / mutuals who have been kind enough to offer information and notes on what I should keep in mind. I feel I do alright enough with that and you won't do much to change my mind in that.

TLDR: My Wanda and the mcu's wanda are very different characters who exist in very different interpretations of the universe, my Wanda outright existing in an entirely alternate universe to the mcu. I reference the mcu, sure, largely for pose reference and backgrounds, rarely if ever to portray a one:one scene, context, etc. Regarding the stereotyping comment, My Wanda and Pietro are born of love, inspiration, and influence from Romani actresses, actors, Romani activists, comics, information sources, mutuals, friends, blogs, and more, and I'm actually fairly content with my work, especially keeping those influences in mind. If you, random internet anon, truly and honestly think that my taking visibly whitewashed characters and rewriting / redrawing them to be even a smidge more accurate, more appropriate, or more representative, keeping those past erasures and whitewashings in mind, and think that it's wrong and inappropriate- I don't know what to tell you.

Keep away, if my work hurts you so. Grow, grow, and go away.

My dear girl Talia!!! I love her sm and I pray for the days when Marvel remembers she exists.

JerichoWanda is my favorite canon ship but KurtWanda has my heart and is my absolute favorite “non-canon” ship (in that they only exist together in a few specific instances / universes) and TALIA!! MY GIRL!!

I love her. I love the idea of Kurt as a father, I love the idea of Wanda having love outside of Simon, Vision, Doom, etc. I love the idea of them existing in a loving relationship enough to have a beautiful and lovely daughter like Talia.I love her attitude and personality, her powers and her appearance, all of it.

I’m especially fond of her appearance in Exiles #28 - #48, that bronze-ish outfit is favorite of mine (outside of red and white one she’s been seen in a blue moon or two) and I cannot put into words how dearly I adore her. I have a few pieces of her I’ve never really shared, but I adore her sm, she’s one of those characters who exists in the constant canon background and while I don’t post her at all- she is regularly on my mind

I actually draw my Wanda's eyes to be varying shades of red (sometimes muted so I can see the brown idea to straight up the same shade I use for her base chaos magic render, that bright rich pink-toned red) in reference to her powers- I like the idea that she's so absolutely full of chaos magic and power, and that she's just mostly in control of it so it bleeds out her 'natural' eye color and presents as that red / pink. Long story long- I draw her with red eyes of varying shades

Pietro with green / teal eyes is absolutely where it's at though, definitely agree there!!!

you can't see it but both wanda and pietro have three moles each- wanda's are above her eyebrow, under her eye, and on her chin below her bottom lip while pietro's are one under his eye, one mid chin / under his other eye, and the third in the same spot as wanda's chin . lip mole lol

Not my usual Wanda but I absolutely adore tonyjan and this is a redraw of a piece I did aaaaaaaagea ago, I thought I’d share with y’all.

(It is a tonyjan redraw of that popular piece, where a man in a suit and hat stands in the cold and rain, watching a large billboard of a beautiful woman. You get the feeling they know each other, or rather KNEW each other. Her face is stuck in a beautiful smile, and while You cannot see his face, his body language speaks to feelings of loss, love, and a sense of being forlorn too. I can’t remember what it’s called)

I’ve been playing as cloak and dagger, and I absolutely adore the absolute presence of DIVA in one of the interactions between Emma and Tandy.

Tandy- “I love your outfit Emma, we look so similar!”

Emma- “oh, that’s sweet. But this? This is couture darling.”

Tandy- “Oh.. my outfit just came with my powers.”

Emma -“And I’m disgusted with how amazing it looks on you.”

Emma Frost having such anti Wanda / antagonistic towards Wanda dialogue in Marvel Rivals is understandable given her canon and her being in charge of the xmen at this point, but also absolutely crazy. Like?? Y’all

The dialogue pretty outright clarifies that the Wanda we play as in rivals is not that of the primary 616 universe, or at least not the same from Emma’s universe at minimum. There’s outright dialogue where Wanda states, ‘your thoughts are obvious Emma, you hate me because your dimensions’ Wanda decimated your mutant population’

But I cannot describe to you all how caught off guard I was when I was playing a match, ended the round using my ult and aced / wiped out the whole enemy team. Cool, that’s what it’s for.

As the match ends, Emma’s dialogue kicks up and she goes,

“Maximoff, the mutant threat, strikes again.”

YALL???

Today, April 8th, is International Romani Day !

April 8th, specifically, is dedicated to drawing attention and participating in the celebration, well-regard, and remembrance of the Romani people, their histories, their strengths, their continued perseverance, as well as supporting the many Romani communities!

Today is, plainly, dedicated to remembering, respecting, and understanding the continued resilience and strength of the Romani people, honoring their rich histories and cultures, as well as paying honor and tribute to the strength of those who have overcome all genocides, enslavement, continued injustice, and calling for the rights and regards of Romani peoples to be observed and respected.

Lots of love and regard to my Roma friends, mutuals, followers, and all beyond 💙❤💚
