"Emotionally Constipated" Minho x "Best Person Award" Reader

You had come up in the box several months ago. By that point, you'd think everyone would be used to your presence, and they were! Everybody loved you, actually. You were one of the sweetest people in the glade, only second to Chuck. A fan favourite, if you will.

For the most part.

Minho wasn't exactly an exception to this. Don't get him wrong, he adored you. But that was the problem. You were kind, caring, considerate, and warm, and he was...not.

It was a sunny morning, just as any other, when he realised. You were helping Chuck with some of the flowers in the garden, and Minho, who was supposed to be helping the bricknicks, stood there staring. Watching the way your tender fingers gently grasped the leaves of the plants to show Chuck the proper way to water them.

Something about the way you did things made his chest flutter. Like his heart was sputtering for blood. Was his heart beating irregularly? Maybe he needed to see Jeff...

"Minho!" shouted a familiar, distinctly accented voice from beside him, shaking the runner from his trance. Newt's brow was raised and his arms were crossed, looking Minho up and down with an expression that said he wasn't having this. Behind him, currently making some horrid concoction, was Frypan, who'd looked up at the sound of Newt yelling. "Did you seriously not hear a word I just said?" Newt scolded, huffing and getting ready to smack Minho upside the head.

"Hey, man, give the guy a break. He was just admiring his little hallway crush," Frypan said, resting his cheek in his palm, his elbow propped up on the counter. Minho whipped his head around, looking incredulously at the cook as Newt gaped. "A crush?" he said, and Frypan nodded, pointing a gloved finger in the direction of the gardens. Newt followed his pointing, and met the gaze of a very curious *name, who lifted an arm and waved, beaming. When the second-in-command looked back, he stared at Minho with something of a knowing expression. "Are you bloody serious?" Frypan laughed heartily and stood from his position, wandering over to the two and patting Minho on the head; he was met with a hand smacking his away, and cheeks flushed ever so slightly. "It's not a damn hallway crush, man." Minho crossed his arms and deadpanned at the both of them, but neither let up.

"What's not?"

Shit. He knew that voice. Minho straightened up subconsciously and turned around, meeting your sparkly gaze. "Hi Minho!" you greeted, and then gave a gentle wave to the little group huddled around him. Newt and Frypan gave him a collective look, the former scratching the back of his neck and dismissing Minho. "We're done here for today, we'll pick back up after sun-up tomorrow." He padded over to the chest of tools and set his slacker down inside it, and Frypan left to his own devices, claiming something about the food probably burning.

Yeah, no, that made sense. Smelled like it, too.

You looked confused at their sudden dismissals, but shrugged it off anyway. "Okay, byebye guys! See you later!" When you looked back, Minho was staring at you. He looked spacey, but something in his eyes sparkled a bit. "Are you up to anything, Minho? We could hang out if you want! I just finished helping Chuck out with the plants." Minho blinked, clearing his throat and shoving his hands in his pockets. "Uhm...No, no I'm not doing anything. What did you...have in mind?" he asked, refusing to make eye contact as his gaze stayed fixed on his shoes. "Nothing in particular. Maybe we could work on a bonfire for tonight! Gally wanted to have one but he's busy with Alby right now."

"Oh, yeah. That works," he answered, swallowing hard and following you toward the bonfire area.

That night was fun. Thomas and Alby had a fight in the circle, and Gally had a whole barrel of his secret recipe...eugh. You all took turns swigging from it and then having some kind of dance battle (Chuck's idea), and when you were all spent, you sat at one of the logs and watched everyone else. Minho was currently in the circle with Ben, and you were cheering him on.

He'd won, obviously, and stumbled toward you with sore legs, sitting down against the log and huffing in breath after breath. "You did amazing out there!" you said, giving him a pat on the back. Minho nodded and thanked you, heaving for breath. You both sat there for what felt like forever before one of you spoke, and when it happened, it certainly wasn't something you'd been expecting.

"I think you're cool," he said, the intention behind his words clear to anyone who listened...almost. "Aww, I think you're cool too," you responded with a pep in your voice. An admiration. You didn't get it. Minho waited a moment, hoping that maybe you'd re-evaluate what he said. Damnit, how did people do this..?

When you didn't say anything more, he simply sighed and nodded, understanding that was the end of things. He didn't know what he was doing. Not at all. Somewhere in the distant blaze of the large bonfire, a cook and a commander facepalmed.

You had always been passing. Nobody questioned it when you were addressed as 'sir' or when you did other traditionally masculine things. And in your book, that was a plus. You were so good at being yourself that everybody just believed you'd always been that way. But there was always one thing in the back of your mind, one thing that bothered you to no end.

Your boyfriend.

Now, by no means was Zander a bigot. In fact, you didn't think he had the capacity to be mean to you. And while something about him not knowing the truth irked you, you still found yourself hesitant whenever the opportunity to say anything came up. Your throat just sort of...locked up.

But today you'd made a decision. You were going to tell him, even if you were scared. He deserved to know.

Or, of course, you were gonna tell him.

You had walked home with him that day, and today was the first day he would be at your house. You urged him to go ahead because there was an errand you had to run for your mom. Only on your way back to your house did you realise. Fuck.

You had a flag up in your room.

Out of panic for his reaction, you hurried home and threw the groceries on the counter, up the stairs and to your room. There was no way you'd forgotten such an important detail. But when you flung open the door to your bedroom, Zander wasn't disgusted, he wasn't staring around your room with green cheeks.

He was just...sitting on your bed, scrolling on his phone. Waiting for you. When he heard the door open, he looked up, eyes lighting up when they landed on you. "Oh, hey babe. I-" he began, then he stopped, eyes narrowing at your panicked state. "What's wrong?" You breathed heavily, putting a hand to your chest to calm yourself as you padded further into the room. He wasn't upset. He wasn't upset. "I, uh," you responded, letting out a breath of air you didn't even realise you'd been holding. "I was worried." Zander's brows furrowed and he stood, leaving his phone on his bed as he walked towards you and stopped a few feet away. "What, because of that?" he said, pointing to the trans flag pinned to your wall. Observant as ever, it seemed. "Oh, come on, did you really think I'd be upset over that? Honey, I don't care. You're the best boyfriend I could ask for regardless." His response made your heart melt, and you felt your shoulders relax, instinctively wrapping your arms around your purple-haired boyfriend. He chuckled and held you back, scolding you silently for thinking such silly things. You were unbelievably happy. This wasn't how you'd planned it to go, but it honestly couldn't have gone better.

You two had begun dating a few weeks ago, and Drew wasn't the worst partner in the world. His love languages were more on the side of gift giving and things like that, which made sense given he'd only ever been used before. With that, though, your affection and endless attention was more than a little welcome, even if he didn't know how to express his gratitude sometimes.

Drew was currently leaning against his locker during lunch break; Henry and Liam had called in sick, so he had nobody to spend time with in the cafeteria. Until you padded up to him, excited and anxious all at the same time, fiddling with your fingers as you gave him a gentle wave.

He had definitely gotten used to the clingyness, but of course, sometimes it was too much. Today was not one of those days, thankfully. As you walked up to him, he pocketed his phone and stood properly, meeting you and giving you a gentle hug. His arms wrapped around your waist, pulling your plush body against his.

To most, he was quite the judgemental type. To you, he was a sweet boy that loved you no matter what. "Hey babe," he greeted with a small smile. "Hihihi! I just got away from Ms. Jones' class, and I missed you so much. I didn't think you'd wait for me..." you said, rubbing the back of your neck and giving him a sheepish grin. Of course he'd wait for you, he thought. Who wouldn't?

"I'd never leave without you, darling," he said, bringing a hand up and tilting your chin up, giving you a gentle kiss on the cheek. The feeling of his lips on your skin made your face warm, and you grinned like a kid. There was several other times where things like this happened, and each time you got more anxious that Drew would grow tired of it. That he would be bored of all your dependence and clingyness. But he never did. He was happy with you the way you were.

"What's wrong?" he ended up asking as you two were playing video games at his house. You were uncharacteristically quiet, and you gently ran your finger over the buttons of your controller, tracing the lines like you were lost in thought. His words lifted you from the trance. "Hm? Oh, nothing," you said, smiling nervously. Drew's eyebrows furrowed in response, and he paused the game, turning to face you in his beanbag. "What's going on, *name?" Drew's voice expressed that he knew you were lying. There was no getting past him, was there? "Always so observant," you pouted, setting you controller down and putting your hands on your knees. "I dunno." You opened up like a can; Drew always managed to have that affect on you, but even if you wanted to you couldn't keep anything from him. "I feel really anxious without you, and I think that you think it's annoying..." you mumbled, expressing your worries as you fiddled with your fingers. Drew took a moment to register the words, and when he had, he let them linger, releasing a sigh. "Baby." He put a hand on your shoulder and tilted you to face him, giving you a comforting smile. "I love you, okay? And that means all of you. Your anxiety, your mumbles, the clinging. I love all of it, and all of you. There's nothing you need to worry about." As Drew reassured you, he stood from his beanbag and pulled you up along with him, holding your hands gently. "Trust me when I say that, sweetheart." Your boyfriend leaned in close to you and pressed his lips to yours. The taste of plum on his lips was distinct and pleasant. It was a reminder of the promise he'd made, and the many promises to come.

You'd recently been working as a helper at Mona's school alongside Hisashi and the other caretakers. The small girl seemed to like you. She was intriguing. The little details such as the overlord complex, and her abnormally large ears. You wonder sometimes who she came from...

Well, you did.

Until you were forced to watch a conference between Hisashi and Mona's father, while you played with the little girl.

And the moment he walked in, you realised...

Oh no.

He's hot.

You had expected the father of such an adorable little toddler to be small, wrinkly and a soft old man.

But oh boy, he was not a soft old man...

"And this one is Fereldan!" Mona exclaimed, showing you her large toy dinosaur. You nodded at her to show you were listening, even if a certain overlord had your attention captured and caged tightly.

The small girl looked up at you with an eccentric face of confusion before you spoke up, clearly distracted.

"Mona... What's your dad's name?"

Mona, being the mischievous little toddler she was, caught on almost immediately upon noticing your blushing face and lost eyes, which pointed directly at her father.

She giggled to herself and tapped her fingers together. "My daddy's name is Nathan! The overword of this path-patetic planet!"

You giggle at Mona's mispronunciation and correct her, before turning back to the direction of the emo man, sitting in a chair on a desk.

His fashion sense intrigued you. It made your face feel warm, and before you knew it, you'd been staring.

Fortunately—or unfortunately, depending on how you view it— for you, Mona is the only person who noticed.

"Oh my goodness. You like my daddy!"

Your face flushes and you shush the girl, whispering closely to her. "Don't say that out loud, Mona, please. I-..."

You sigh and give her a comical look of defeat. "Fine, maybe I do."

That day, you'd confessed to the little overlord your biggest secret.

You had the fattest crush on Desdemona's father.

Oh, that girl knew what she was doing too. Because a few weeks later, she started asking you to walk with her outside to take her to her dad. She also got in trouble on purpose so he would get called in.

But one thing that made her upset about these plans?

He never even noticed you.

Or, at least. That's what you thought.

Until, of course, during one specific day in the fall. You'd been walking out of the building with Mona while she expressed her feelings about that particular day. In doing so, you stumbled upon her father. Again.

You were just about ready to smile, wave, and turn around like always. But the last thing you would've expected to happen was for Nathan to call your name.

"Greetings, um..." The man looked down at his daughter, and she mouthed something to him. He looked back up and continued. Wait... is that blush on his face?

"Y/N. Desdemona has recently informed me of your behaviours toward her. She has spoken highly of you, and I find that commendable. Would you care to join me for a uh-"

The overlord looked to Mona again, and then back up. "A, um... date? This afternoon."

Your eyes widen, and the flesh in your cheeks suddenly feels undescribably hot. You look to Mona.

She cracked under your gaze and hugged Nathan's leg as she spoke, looking up at her father. "Daddy, I want Y/N to be your overlord boyfriend! He's super duper nice, too!" As she speaks, you feel even more embarrassed, covering your face with your hands.

Nathan's face had a light pink dusted over his features as well, as he looked up at you. "I see. So that is why you asked of me to 'take him out on a date,' yes Mona?"

She nods as he brings his hands up to put air quotes around her statement. The shorter(or taller?) man sighs, and you swear you can see a faint smile cover his features.

"I um.. I'd love to... go on a date with you." You smile at Nathan with your blushing face, accepting his previous offer.

"Excellent. Meet me at the pathetic coffee restaurant on the corner. You will be there."

You rub the back of your neck as he speaks, and nod. The emo overlord turns and walks off with his daughter— who is cheering and waving at you— in tow.

Oneshot; The Envy Effect

You and Ray recently agreed to start dating. He'd sit with you in the library late at night sometimes to read books with you. That boy absolutely adored when you'd fall asleep with your head ontop of his.

Sometimes he wished you'd fall asleep on his shoulder, but he knew he was too short for that.

As of now, though, Ray was resting against a tree and reading a book about physics. He was at peace for the small moment while his siblings ran and played tag.

When Jemima came running from the woods toward the ravenette, his peace had been disrupted.

The short girl had a pout on her face, and she looked slightly upset. This caught Ray's attention.

He closed his book and set it down, allowing her to sit in his lap and speak.

"Rayyy! Y/N is cheating!" She complained about your skillset. You'd agreed to play tag with everyone, and you were the one tagging them. Your height was also a huge plus during the childish game.

Ray laughed to himself, gently stroking Jemima's curly hair. "How is he cheating?" Not many of the other children knew about your relationship with Ray, but the younger kids had managed to figure it out, often using it against you both.

Jemima had a look of defeat on her face. "He got me so quickly, even while Don was distracting him!"

The words caught Ray slightly off guard. "Hm?" He hummed quietly to express his interest in the topic, and Jemima perked up to explain. "Y/N was talking to Don! He looked distracted, so I thought I could sneak by, but he got me!" Her words were complaining, and slightly frustrated.

Though, Ray was focused on something else.

He smiled at Jemima and comforted her, before standing up and making his way through the forest. The short girl was his guide as they passed children who'd been tagged already.

The ravenette spotted his boyfriend, and took a look at the situation for a moment. He'd patted Jemima's head, and she giggled before running off.

"Yeah, I wanted to talk to you about something important!" Don spoke to you with a slightly blushing face, and Ray narrowed his eyes at the boy.

"Oh, go ahead!" Ray ended up walking up behind you as you responded to Don. He'd sent Don a silent glare as he stood beside you. "Ray! Hi!" You two weren't open about your relationship because nobody had asked, but neither were opposed to showing affection.

You rested your chin on Ray's head with a happy smile. "Hello Y/N." Your boyfriend spoke with a warm voice as you wrapped your arms around him.

"Oh, right. What did you need, Don?" Your [E/C] eyes darted to Don, who's blushing face had faded into confusion. "W-wait... what's going on..?"

An eyebrow raised on your face, before Ray answered for you.

"He's my boyfriend." The boy spoke bluntly, and you blushed at how direct he was with his answer. The answer had caused Don to sputter.

"What do you mean he's your boyfriend!?" His words were stuttering out carelessly as he spoke to Ray. The shorter narrowed his eyes.

You'd blushed and rubbed the back of your neck, knowing how jealous Ray could get sometimes. "It means what it sounds like. He's mine."

Don raised his hands in surrender, understanding the situation quickly and rushing out an apology. "Ah! I-i uh... sorry!" He shouted as he turned around and ran off, feeling embarrassed.

You let out a sigh and looked at Ray. "That was unnecessary." You whispered to your boyfriend, feeling bad for Don.

"It was very necessary, darling," He said hugging you and nuzzling into your chest. "Like I said, you're mine."

You blushed and hugged him back, running a hand through his hair lovingly. "Alright, alright. Fine."

The two of you stood hugging in the forest, before a familiar voice shouted out to you. "Time's up! Y/N lo~ses!!" It was Emma, standing next to Norman who was holding up a pocket watch with a ringing timer.

You showed up a couple days ago. You still couldn't remember your name, or your family, or anything about yourself. But you did notice that you'd subconsciously hang out with Newt when the opportunity came up.

The lifestyle definitely took some getting used to, but you were a relatively fast learner. Today, the box was supposed to come up, so you decided to sit next to the hatch and wait.

You liked when supplies came up, it feel organised and helped with your shaky hands.

A while after you came up, you realised your hands wouldn't stop shaking. You tried plenty of remedies, even some medicine, but nothing relieved it.

Well, except when the box came up. You weren't sure why though. All you knew was that it helped, so Newt gave you the job of watching for when the box came up.

"Hey greenie, anything shown up yet?" Speak of the devil and he shall appear, Newt called over to you and sat down in the grass.

You shook your head. "Not yet. But I think it will soon, the sun is in the center of the sky." Newt nodded and smiled contentedly.

Just as you spoke, a creaking sound rang through the glade and your eyes lit up. "I knew it!" You shifted to sit on your knees as you heard it come to a stop.

Newt got up to open the box, and you got up as well to check what was inside.

He motioned for you to jump in, and so you did. Looking through all the items that had come up, food, seeds, buckets, wood, all that.

You came across a peculiar two items. A spiral notebook and a pencil tucked into the spirals. Tilting your head, you moved to pick it up.

Your gaze landed on the cover and your face lit up. You snatched the notebook and pencil and shuffled out of the box, beaming happily at the items.

"What'd you find?" He raised an eyebrow and smiled fondly at your behaviour. Newt loved seeing your smile.

You looked up at him and held the notebook up, your grin growing impossibly wider. "It's a notebook! A book, Newt!!" He seemed confused, and so you brought the book back down and rummaged through the pages.

Taking a seat on the grass, you grabbed the pencil and began doodling on the first page you opened up to. Not only were you ecstatic at this new development, your shaky hands appear to have stopped as well.

Upon noticing this, Newt sat down and watched you doodle. He was awed at how good of an artist you were. "Who's that?" He asked, now looking at your smile.

Without looking up from the paper, you spoke. "I'm drawing Y/N." The blonde was slightly confused by this, and tilted his head. "Who?"

"Me!" You beamed, looking up at him with a bright smile. "That's my name!"

Newt made an "o" with his mouth in realisation, smiling at you and leaning in to hug you. "I'm glad." You closed your eyes and snuggled into him before going back to drawing, with Newt's arms around you as he watched your pencil move.

(Plot: During Summer vacation with the 4th of July coming up, Ray immediately falls in love with a beautiful vacationer (who was found wondering around in "Junk N'Stuff") and started flirting with her a bit and even offered her a extra room to stay in at Junk N'Stuff since all the hotels in "Swellview" were full with vacation tourists Ray even offered to show the reader around Swellview, later in the afternoon during the tour Ray asked the reader if she'll be his date for the Swellview 4th of July Festival this made the reader blush as she kindly said "yes" and agreed to be his date. During the night of the Festival after meeting: Henry, Charlotte, Jasper, and Henry's sister Piper the reader was having a great time at the festival with ray (as they both wore matching Blue Hawaiian T-shirts) as he played a few games and winning her a few giant stuffed animals, before the event of fireworks so that there won't be any secrets kept between them the reader promised to keep a secret as Ray flirted with the reader and told her that he's Captain Man as he transformed in front of her which made the reader blush as she was also attracted to Captain Man they became a couple as shared their first kiss during the start of the fireworks!

Details: The reader is from "Lynchburg, Va" who's works as a waitress at "Starbucks' Cafe" her dream is be a Fashion Designer and explore the world, she's a vegetarian, a skilled martial artist: she likes reading, her favorite color is blue, loves animals, her favorite flowers is Blue Orchids. She dislikes: Chewing gum, High heels shoes, clowns, trapped in small spaces, having nightmares, needle shots, drowning. She doesn't drink any kind of alcohol or liquor!

You had recently visited a small town called Swellview. You didn't know much about the place other than apparently the sights were gorgeous.

It'd been a few days now and you were spending your summer vacation here, so you'd decided to wander around the town when a particular store caught your eye.

"Junk 'n' Stuff..? What a curious little shop." You mumbled to yourself upon hearing the bell from the opening door.

Upon walking in, you immediately notice the large variety of items scattered around, and you're greeted by a tall brunette man behind a counter.

He gazes at you with a look that's hard to read. "Welcome to Junk 'n' stuff, fine lady. How can I help you?"

You were caught slightly off-guard by the nickname but welcomed it, blushing slightly. "Oh, I was just wandering! This town is so cute."

"Cute like you." The man flashed a smile to you with his head resting on his palm, elbow propped up on the counter. "What's your name?"

You giggled lightly and covered your mouth, your eyes wandering around at the fascinating stuff while you spoke. "Y/N. What about you, sir?"

"Oh please, just call me Ray." You nodded at the mention of his name. "I take it you're a tourist. 'You need a place to stay? I've got rooms of course." Ray's eyes were trained on you. He could already tell he was in love.

"Oh, I've been looking for hotel rooms for a while. I'd like that!" You smiled at each other warmly and he stood up from his stool, walking around the counter to stand in front of you. "Wonderful. I'll show you around Swellview too, if you'd like."

You nodded eagerly and he took your hand, leading you with him. "Then how about we start now?" Giggling, you followed after him.

After a while, he'd taken you to a park in the centre of town, where he brought you next to a picnic area and sat down. You could tell he looked slightly nervous, fidgeting in his seat.

"Y/N, would you like to be my date for the 4th of July Festival?" He played with his hands, awaiting your answer as you sat there wide eyed and in silence.

You nodded lightly, a faint shade of pink dusting your cheeks as you smiled at him. "Yeah. I will." Your kind voice enveloped him, your sweet words ringing through his ears like a song he can't get out of his head. A light grin made its way onto his face as he beamed.

On the day of the festival, Ray had dragged you along to wear matching blue t-shirts. You two were currently speedrunning every festival game you saw.

You were giggling, shuffling behind Ray with a pile of plushies in your arms as he lead you to a picnic spot.

You two sat down and he slung an arm around your shoulders. Waiting for the fireworks to start, you turned to Ray and whispered, "I promise to never ever keep any secrets from you."

He chuckled and smiled at you. "If that's the case, then I'd like for you to see something." He spoke with a playful tone, and you raised an eyebrow at him. "What's that?"

He stood up, grabbing a tube of gum and popping one into his mouth. "Just watch, gorgeous." Upon blowing a bubble, a strange light enveloped Ray, making you squint.

When the light cleared, you gasped loudly, noticing the famous red and blue superhero. "You.. are Captain Man?"

"That's me!" He spoke as he walked over and sat next to you again, putting his arm around your waist. "The one and only" Ray winked at you.

You giggled and leaned close to him. Your faces were inches away, and when the fireworks finally went off, you felt Ray press his lips to yours.

You returned the kiss, all kind of lights going up into the sky behind you two. When he finally pulled away, you rested you head on Ray's chest.

As you felt yourself slowly drifting into sleep, you heard four words that made your heart flutter.

"I love you, Y/N."
