I did a rad thing on Sunday. I finished my last long run of my half-marathon-training program, and on time too; it’s supposed to take place 7 days out from the race and that’s when I did it! I’m really proud of myself for keeping a somewhat even pace! AND FOR RUNNING 10 MILES ALL IN ONE GO! My race is this Sunday! I can’t wait!

1/2 Marathon is in ONE-DAY-LESS-THAN-A-MONTH. And while I may be a turtle, I’m gonna turtle right over that finish line just fine! I’m proud AF of that Mile-4 Time! I haven’t set any concrete goals for my fitness post-race. I’m gonna keep working on my weight-loss (to finally once-and-for-all get out of the pre-diabetic blood sugar numbers, which I might very well be but I haven’t made the time to get blood work done). And I definitely want to concentrate on speed and running full out; I use the Galloway Method currently to help with my chronic compartment syndrome but my stamina on short runs has greatly improved so I’m thinking maybe a goal like running a 5k with zero walk breaks might be a place I start. But for now, just concentrating on getting this 1/2 Marathon under my belt. And listen: if I can do this, if I can tackle this crazy goal, you can do whatever it is you’ve been wanting to do. Every long run cements that for me... we are strong, we are capable. I believe in you. DO THE THING!

Hi friends! I’m all about downsizing right now and I’m saving up for more race entry fees for the year; I’m also looking to start Pilates and that shiz is not cheap! So I’m selling some things over on eBay! Having lost over 30lbs and having moved all over the country in the last 10 years, I have a wild mix of clothes and jewelry that I’ve picked up with my magpie tastes—some of it still in original packaging and tags! It’s definitely taking me longer than I thought to get it all listed, so what’s up there is just the tip of the iceberg—I’ll get more up in the following weeks! Clothing is mostly plus sized; 1X-2X, 14-16 in ladies. I also have jewelry and purses. Will probably start listing other miscellaneous items too but the focus will most likely be on clothing and accessories. Take a look! See if anything strikes your fancy! Thanks!

My friend and I had a reunion of sorts and when you consider the general holiday chaos, this has been a very busy time!
So if you’re looking for posts catching us all up, goal setting, Intermittent Fasting, working out on the diva cup, etc… Hold tight! They’re coming! I’m just taking some recovery time to come back rested and refreshed!

I’m still here, still chubby and still running my buns! Last weekend I ran the ā€˜Spirit of Giving 5k’ downtown and even though my running has been kind of sporadic, I PR’d! I ran a sub-13 mile the entire time and finished in just over 39 minutes! My goal last year, when at this time I decided to start running was to finish this year with a 10 minute mile, a 30-minutes-or-less 5k. I didn’t make it obviously but I have improved considerably! I started my journey at around an 18 minute mile, a 54 minute 5k. I’m already stoked for the coming year—doing my first half marathon this spring! It’s gonna be a blast! Hope y’all smash your end of year goals!

Bodacious Bogart turned 2 today!
It’s weird because I actually re-read all of my posts yesterday to see how far I’ve come since starting this blog!Ā  And even though I’m not quite where I thought I’d be by now... I have made SUCH progress!Ā  I’m over thirty pounds lighter and I actually ENJOY running.Ā  And we moved out of the frigid Midwest and back to my most favorite state in the whole country.Ā  It’s really grand.

It wasn’t the best long-run-day but I did it! I am definitely getting back into the groove, as evident by my sloooooow pace. But what do you expect after a raucous vacation?! (It was totally worth it, btw.) Tomorrow is a rest day FOR SURE.

I am now a person who works out on vacation. Still ended up a day or so behind on my training program but it’s not the end of the world. Gonna smash my long run tomorrow! It will be the farthest distance to date! Eeps!

First Long Run of the program in the books. Decided to use Galloway over Higdon because I have to accept my body’s limitations (like being very susceptible to muscle tears and blood clots) and I’ve had more success using the run/walk method and then staying less injured.
Vacation soon and I am DETERMINED to stay on track and get my workouts in! Even though it’s going to be a very physical trip. No excuses! Run run run!

I actually have longer than 12 weeks so I’ll be repeating certain weeks in order to build up stamina on the longer runs. And the longer time will also help me factor in things like surviving my hellacious periods, and my BFF is coming for the new year so I don’t think we’ll be doing much running then. But here’s my plan. Hopefully I can do it!

Hi friends! If you're a human who wears bras, here is your reminder to check your bras out and consider if it's time to maybe invest in a new one (or a few new ones).
As someone with a slightly unconventional size, I know the struggle of even tracking them down—I mostly order mine online which of course has it's own problems. And bras in general, are expensive as all get out! I'm lucky if I can find one around $60-70 (though my last trip DID yield one that was on sale for $20 and I about expired from the shock).
And while I wish I had the kind of cash flow that I could replace my bras within the recommended time frame, I just finally disposed of a few that were ready for retirement, bras that I had purchased in 2012. So I'm definitely in the camp of 'wearing them until they fall apart.' But my new bras arrived the other day and I can't believe what a difference a new bra can make—not only in comfort but also in a sense of confidence in wearing a pretty piece of lingerie; it used to be that as you wandered down the alphabet in terms of cupsize, that you were restricted to black/beige/white as your only color options. But it's getting better for chesty folks! Promise!
I was gonna add some snaps of my new bras but there are terrible folks on this site, especially if you're a curvy babe so... if you're curious about some recommendations, send me a message and I'll send you links for bras/brands I really like!
