After a long, hard stretch of really bad things happening to me, including a botched surgery and the loss of my wonderful golden retriever service dog to ALS or Lou Gerigs disease as some know it, life is finally falling back into a normal pattern.

Wagner is almost 10 weeks old, and he's wicked smart. Even though we live on the second floor and my morning stiffness from my RA is really bad, it's not as bad as the 3rd floor haunted building I used to live in. No unseen hands grabbing my ankles on the stairs or worse, an invisible force, pushing me down a flight of concrete stairs.

These apartments are clean and serene.

I kinda feel like the show gave off the impression that there are only like 10 houses in Westeros but theres so many..

I know its no ones fault, budgetary restrictions are a thing and its also understandable that having an additional hundred peoples last names and flags would become confusing but i thought id share this for a sense of scale.

P. S: each of these houses can have anywhere from 1 to 100 minor lords and landed knights overseeing smaller castles, towns and villages in their name and yes they all have their own flag and banners too.

WHAT’S GOING ON IN RUSSIA RIGHT NOW

Some of you might’ve heard about the situation with the government vs opposition that we’re dealing with right now, but I’m gonna give a brief explanation, how it started / how it’s going so to say.

In August 2020 Alexey Navalny, one of the leaders of the russian opposition, was poisoned with a nerve agent “Novichok”, which was a clear murder attempt. He was transported to Germany to get proper care and over there, while recovering, he and his team had a series of investigations of his murder attempt and basically they proved that it was all organised by the government / FSB (Federal Security Service of Russia / P*tin. He’s posted videos about his investigation, here’s the one of him exposing the whole killer team. He also made another video where he undercover called one of the killers and that dude basically confirmed it all, you can watch it here, english subtitles provided on both videos. I know it all feels like some crazy tv show, trust me i’m still speechless.

Anyway, last week he announced that he’s ready to go back home to Russia. Thousands of people came to the airport to show their support, but the bunker grandpa (our joke of a president) was not happy with that and police was everywhere at that airport taking people for doing nothing but standing there. Right when the plane was about to land, they changed the airports (*pretends to be shocked*). They landed and at the customs Alexey was detained by police. The reasons: something that they imagined themselves but also Alexey has a probation and he wasn’t checking at the Moscow police station twice a month….. since he was in Germany recovering from a murder attempt.

The next day they somehow held a court hearing right at the police station which is literally against the law and he’s being arresting for 30 days. And that gives everyone a push. In his videos he asks people not to protest for him but to protest for themselves and their right to have a voice and for that voice to be heard and not be murdered and, if you’re not dead, be jailed because you have a different opinion. For years our country has been literally degrading, swimming in the corruption and lies just so Mr. Poo has his throne. Elections are being forged, at this point everyone knows about it but they frightened people enough to not say a word. The whole world thinks so low of us or scared of us because of the power that the Tsar holds and smart, reasonable people here are so fed up with that.

And the final part and what was the last drop of patience for lost of people here, Navalny’s team posted a whole film-investigation about the palace P*tin owns on the coast of the Black sea which was built with the stolen money. Just a few highlights about that palace: the approximate cost of it is around 100 billion rubbles / $1,4 billion, the size of it is over 17,6k square meters, it has tea/wine houses, wine gardens, amphitheatre, a hockey rink, casino, furniture with millions on price tags, hookah bar, bedchambers with jacuzzis, and people’s personal faves, aqua disco, $2k toilet brushes with toilet paper holders, a pole at the hookah bar and a room for dirt. Just in comparison to the cost of only that palace, our pensions for people of age are around 10k rubbles / $130, our standard salaries are around $300 a month and that if you’re lucky, in the regions it can be twice less. During the pandemic the government gave people n o t h i n g that could’ve helped even a tiny bit. But golden toilet brushes at the Black sea cost are always provided.

Tomorrow, January 23rd, there are going to be mass protests all across the country where people want to show their civil position, to scream for the rights that are being taken away from us with every day passing with more and more ridiculous laws, to show support to Alexey and his family and ask for his freedom, and just to show that people want to see their homeland get justice, respect and love it deserves. Chances of things getting messy are very high since the government doesn’t allow us to have peaceful protests (unless its allowed protests which like…they never allow them so here’s another way of silencing us). I’ll be posting things about it as soon as I know, the ways to help and just spread information about what we have to deal with.

For now I’m gonna leave a link to an FBK site / Anti-Corruption Foundation, which is a non profit organization that investigates corruption cases in Russia. They also have a donation page which could always use some help, especially on the eve of protests (e.g. provide free lawyers to help people get out of police in case of arrests on protests).

Peaceful protests in many cities across the country against the unlawful arrest of opposition leader Alexei Navalny and against Putin’s corrupt regime in general. Navalny was poisoned by guess who, went into coma, was treated in Germany for months, published a detailed investigation of his poisoning, then came back to Russia a few days ago and was arrested at the airport and imprisoned. Soon after that his team published the results of their newest investigation: a long video revealing Putin’s secret palace built on stolen money. For the record, I personally don’t consider myself a Navalny supporter, but this is much bigger than him, his treatment is a demonstration of how bad things are over here when it comes to opposition or freedom in general, so this fight needs to be fought regardless of how one feels about him as one person specifically.   Police has been arresting people all day, hours before the protests even started, using the usual scare tactics, grabbing and arresting people at random, beating the protesters. Minors are being arrested (for just participating in a PEACEFUL PROTEST). There’s been a violent crackdown on activists, journalists, and basically anyone who was inviting people to join the protests today.  This time the major percentage of protesters are the youth (kids notably used TikTok to organise and prepare) who want to fight for their country’s freedom and their own future, the government has been scrambling to prevent young people from attending by all means. Kids were summoned to school and compulsory school events from home (covid is still a thing) and in some instances were literally locked up by teachers with lock and key. Students of universities were told that anyone attending the protest would be expelled immediately (which is unlawful, but scare tactics + never stopped them before, we were told the same thing back in 2012 when I was a student myself) etc.  That’s the gist of it but it’s the tip of the iceberg. I know i have the smallest platform here, but if you guys could boost this and tune into this English or this Russian live stream it would really help out russian protestors right now. Navalny, a prominent opposition candidate that recently survived an assassination attempt, got jailed again and now people protesting against it are getting beaten by cops on the streets for just being there. These live streams are from an independent russian news source and it puts a lot of pressure on the Russian governemt if it gets a lot of views.

RUSSIA, JANUARY 23RD

For everyone who doesn’t know what’s been happening in Russia, here’s my post explaining everything, highly recommend to read it all and help us spread the information. Today, we had mass protests happening all over the country and here I want to give a brief summary of the events.

First of all, just want to say this right from the start, I posted a video here  of people throwing snowballs at a few policemen and them not doing anything about it. While its all fun to see, on another street there were people thrown on the ground and women beaten up by other police officers. Just so it won’t give you any illusions about how police vs nation is treated because trust me, its not sunshine and rainbows. We aren’t allowed to have protests here without a governmental permission, and since its impossible to get a permission people aren’t left with any other choices but still hold the protests, which also leads to police violence, arrests, and injuries. Now lets get to the numbers.

Over 3000 people were arrested today in 111 Russian cities - that’s record numbers. From the reports, dozens of people were beaten up, but also judging by the the videos from the protests, it was a lot more than dozens. One pregnant woman was beaten up. There was also a video of another woman getting a very strong hit in her stomach from a police officer with his leg. A lot of people were sent to hospitals after being beaten up by police, most of them had head injuries. People were getting different kind of threats, including sexual, at police stations. A lot of journalists were also arrested simply because of them being there and reporting on the events that were happening, they had all the documents with them.

This was a time for the nation to feel united, to show our civil positions and scream about injustices that we’re being put through. And what a time it is. The toilet brush became an unofficial symbol of the protests (re my post explanation, the pr*sident has $1k toilet brushes at his palace), people of all ages came outside to let everyone know that we’re tired of the current government and we want freedom from it. Some awful stuff happened of course, and all the people who suffered are in my thoughts constantly, they’re the bravest ones and I’m happy to share this country with those people. It’s very early to speak about the results, if there will be any positive results, but we’ve done something great and that’s a wonderful thing already.

No one really believed that the buck-toothed MAGAts who live in the conspiracy world of Q-Anon and Lizard people would really hook up with the Proud Boys by the thousands in Washington DC and try to take over our Nation's Capitol today.
