How do you think Tina became the Master of the Hong Kong Sanctum?

There’s nothing concrete in either the comics or the MCU, but I think I have a couple of theories that could answer that:

Tina was a practicing magician in the original comics, so her going to Kamar Taj to study under the Ancient One and other Masters of the Mystic Arts in order to practice focusing and honing in her magical abilities, then going on to tracking down and stopping dark wizards, and with her hard-work and ambition, worked her way up to becoming a Sanctum Master, isn’t much of a stretch.** 

There’s also the fact the Masters were friends with Kaecilius at one point. So maybe after Kaecilius left, the Ancient One might have chosen her, Daniel Drumm, Sol Rama b/c of the possibility that he would be less likely to attack them.

While it’s still unknown how she got the Staff of One, I believe that the existence of the Staff itself and its affinity towards Tina (and later on her daughter, Nico) in particular might have played a role in her becoming the Master of the Hong Kong Sanctum, especially given how it’s one of the few mystical relics that made Dormammu tremble in fear.

It could even be combination of all 3! I like how there is no limit to the possibilities, especially when magic is involved.

** (how she juggled this while raising two daughters and be the CEO of a widely successful company is pushing it, but still fits into the realm of possibility seeing as it worked for (1) bruce wayne)

Your post about what Tina likes and doesn't like in a person got me wondering what she would think of Tony Stark (I'm curious about your personal opinion too)?

Welll…she has met Tony Stark at one point in the comics.

She doesn’t really like him.

At all. 

BUT, I think her immediate hatred of him is based more on magic vs science than disliking him as a person. Granted I can see her being irked by him even without the magic vs tech war. 

Tina is a brilliant innovator and CEO of a company. Tony’s reputation as a “millionaire playboy who practically got everything handed to him” while she had to work twice as hard to get a fraction of what he has, and adding on to the brash, egotistical, arrogant jerk-ish persona irritates her to no end.  

BUT she is still a businesswoman. Doing business with Stark Industries for the sake of improving the future of her company is something she wouldn’t hesitate to do, But the idea of Tina being friends or even acquaintances with Tony is something that will either never happen or take an excruciatingly long time to happen.

What kind of people is Tina attracted to?

haha! yes! now that more info on the runaways is out i can finally answer this!

She’s a sucker for gentleness and niceness, and also confident, protective, and proactive people. But only gentleness and niceness in those are genuinely like that - not as a persona in order to make certain people feel a certain way about them, because she can sense that from a mile away. Same goes for people who act tough/cocky/loud. That makes her run in the other direction.
