These keep coming up, so, weird foreshadowings of life in William Finn's musicals

In Falsettos, in Love is blind, Trina says that Marvin told her she has Something rotten. This line was included in the original production. Christian Borle was in a musical called Something rotten, after Falsettos was written, but before he played Marvin in Falsettos

In Miracle of Judaism, Jason says "Ellie Mazie Rosenthal's really well built" once again, this line was in the original production, so it is definitely a coincidence, but the actor who played Jason in the revival is called Anthony Rosenthal. Worth noting there are many names in this song (including Bill's goddaughter Zoe [Thalen] Feinstein) but this is one of the ones that's more emphasized

In A new brain, Lisa the homeless lady says "I don't care if you're the king of England" to Gordon. And once again this line was in the original production, but in a later one, Gordon was played by Jonathan Groff who is very famous for his role of King George III in Hamilton, who was the king of England. But even if it wasn't in the original, it would still be a coincidence, as Jonathan Groff only played in Hamilton a year later

And this is the one that creeps me out the most. In Marvin hit Trina, it is revealed that Trina and Mendel were going to get married on may 27th at 8. But notably, this was revealed by Marvin, who said it with the words "You die on may 27th at 8". This line was heard in March of the Falsettos first, which premiered in 1981. And 20 years later, in 2001, William Finn's mother died, on may 27th. I don't know what the exact hour was, but if it's 8 I don't know what to think anymore.

Thinking about how hating witches - despite all the evidence that they are good people - is possibly some sort of messed-up coping mechanism for Belos. Because if witches were never evil, that would swap the roles he had carefully crafted for him and his brother. And the result would be devastating.

If witches were never evil, then Caleb's "sense of reality" had never been warped. If Caleb had been completely sane, there was no need to "put him out of his misery". Or if Caleb was morally right all along, then it would have been Philip who "chose to betray" Caleb. And then whatever Philip did was, in truth, no "act of mercy" but straight-up murder of his own brother.

Caleb either lost his sanity or chose to betray Belos. But that does only work if Belos was the sane one and the morally right one. But if witches were never evil, then Belos would be the insane one. The morally wrong one. Belos would be the traitor and the murderer.

Just put it together that in In Trousers, Marvin plays Christopher Columbus, who is credited for the spread of syphilis from America to Europe, in his school play, and in Falsettos he says has syphilis and spreads it from Whizzer to Trina. Whizzer being the “uncharted” and “new” land, like America to Columbus, and Trina being the “familiar” and “old” land like Europe. I don't know if this is intentional and I haven't seen anyone else talk about this so I might just be grasping at straws but I really really want it to be intentional. Also, Marvin’s relationship with Whizzer would represent freedom of expression, pushing boundaries, and defying repressive expectations, the basis of the US. (at least that's what they said and promised but that's another topic for another time) Whereas his relationship with Trina represents repression, conformity, and sticking to the status quo, like England’s monarchy which eventual was challenged in pursuit of what the new land promised.

do i excessively share my thoughts about the content that I consume on a very public platform? yes. do I also never ever want the creators of said content to be aware of or god forbid interact with said content? also yes.

the idea that people want to be observed by their favourite celebrities is incomprehensible to me. can you imagine being on a platform like twitter where creators directly judging you for your opinions is not only possible but culturally acceptable? unthinkable.

that's why i am on tumblr. this is a safe space. no self respecting celebrity would use this hellsite in an official capacity, and its lack of verified accounts and general anonymity would make it difficult anyway. the author might not be dead but the doors are barricaded.
