I’m not trying to defend the “people died young in the Renaissance era because they were fat” argument. I disagree with that. 

BUT,

just wanna point out that there definitely does come a certain point where being fat stops being okay and starts to become an actual health risk. There’s a difference between “plump” and “morbidly obese” just the same as there’s a difference between “slender” and “anorexic.” Women during the Renaissance were plump, but some women today are morbidly obese. 

Why in the world would I say that just to hurt someone? I wouldn’t. 

It’s not about body-shaming, it’s about being informed about risks. Whether or not people choose to ignore it, or to brush it off as “body-shaming” is their decision.

Don’t be anorexic and don’t be morbidly obese, find a healthy in-between.
