Been a hot minute since I’ve been on here, but I scribbled these down and figured I’d share! This is my first fully-formed clone squad known as Shatter Squad. The Shatter Squad is within the 501st, if that wasn't clear by the color. Some of those in the squad are transfers, such as Bonesaw and the twins (Tripwire and Deadbeat), while the others were put into the squad from the get-go. Some of these designs aren't exactly all in the same timeframe during their story. For example, Trip's design is actually a future version of him, while the others are mostly when the squad was freshly put together. Confusing? Yeah. I'm just a tad lazy and didn't want to change it lol I have some basic info down below of some of the members, if you want to have a read. If not, I hope you liked the doodles!

Coil is the leader of the squad, but I haven't decided on a rank for him yet. He's a pretty serious guy most of the time. On the rare occasion that they have extended downtime or go to 79's, he's much more loose and open to jokes. He got his name when someone from his batch complained about him being "tightly wound like a coil". It stuck. Bonesaw is a medic, and a damn good one at that. He is actually pretty snarky, sarcastic, and so, so very smug. When he's actually peeved at someone though he has a great resting bitch face. He enjoys verbally tearing into someone if they've done something stupid and got injured for it. A nat-born medic called him Bonesaw once because of his very good ability to verbally maul someone. Kept the name because he thought it was badass. Tripwire is the team's trap-setter and infiltration-leader. Very efficient in his work- super thorough and good at shifting plans on the fly. His name was originally Livewire, but it ended up shifting to Tripwire because he is prone to being "tripped" when someone hits a nerve. He's Deadbeat's twin (they were made in the same decanting chamber). (Bit of a note here regarding his future stuff. His eye is made out of recycled assassin droid parts and both of his forearms have been replaced with prostheses. I won't get into spoiler lore because...that'd be no fun. I'll write it out eventually but until then, my lips are sealed.) Deadbeat is the team's heavy weapons guy, with the Z-6 rotary blaster cannon being his firearm of choice. The poor guy can't stand shinies: they ask him too many questions, and he hates how arrogant most of them end up being. His name was given to him as a joke, and he was too indifferent towards it to look for a replacement.

Flint is the team's electronics expert. Absolutely a prodigy when it comes to tech and loves to tinker whenever he can. His name comes from his ability to go from kind and soft to prickly and sharp. Most of the time he's pretty passive and complacent, but if he's worn down enough he'll make jabs at pretty much anyone. He can only take so much shit from people before he'll throw self restraint out the window and fire back. Oh, and he's also an ARC trooper- so there's that.

Bombshell is the final member of the team, and is the explosives expert (note, he does already have a post of his own, so you can go and check that out if you want). Anyway, he's blue-yellow colorblind and this has led to a few funny moments during his time as a shiny. He got his name when Bonesaw made a comment that he was practically a factory with the amount of bombshells he kept dropping on the team. He liked the word, so he took it and kept it as his name.

For those of you who can read/write aurebesh: you’re great. You’re a real one.

I use it all the time when writing in public on like a notepad or on my phone. Nobody, except those who took the time to learn aurebesh, can even begin to read it. It’s hilarious.

Another note: Artists who use aurebesh to hide funny messages are great. I love reading the stuff in the background and seeing something funny written down. It’s like a little inside joke and I am here for it.

Meet one of the first members of Shatter Squad: Bombshell!

If his name didn't already give it away, he is the demolitions expert of his squad. Which is kind of funny, given that he is blue-yellow colorblind and he sucks at remembering which color is which.

He can disarm bombs pretty easily even with his visual impairment. Though, there have been times where he arms one of his bombs for training with his squad but forgets which wire is which because he (for some reason) uses blue and yellow wires to arm it.

Also, when he was first painting his armor, he accidentally painted it the 212st yellow instead of the 501st blue. Rex was over it, Cody was unimpressed, and his squad will never let him live it down.

Personality wise, he's pretty snarky and playful, but he'll quickly drop that to be completely serious when he needs to be. Deadly serious. The switch left his squad speechless the first time they were out in the field.

Now all I can think about is the conversation that would go down between Rex and Cody after Skako Minor...

--- "..and then Wrecker decided to once again throw me, this time up to one of the Octuptarra's cannons! No hesitation- just walked over to me, picked me up, and flung me like it was normal! Those di'kute, I swear..." Rex huffed, aggressively wiping at his face in frustration. He knew the batch was known for being reckless but sith hells was he unprepared for it.

Cody stilled in his seat. He blinked a few times before turning his attention away from his datapad towards Rex. His eyebrows were slightly creased. Hesitant, he slowly opened his mouth to speak.

"That...isn't normal?"

Rex's eyes widened. His head slowly turned to Cody with a horrified look on his face. There was a pregnant pause. Rex opened and closed his mouth a couple of times before blurting out:

"No!?"

"...oh."

Cody looked away with pursed lips and wide eyes before pointedly turning back to his datapad. He took a sip of his caf for emphasis.

Rex rolled his eyes and brought a hand up to rub at them. He pinched the bridge of his nose. The 212th are going to be the death of him, starting with their commander.

"Stars, Kote, what am I gonna do with you..."

(Spoilers for S1 and maybe a little of S2 of Star Wars The Bad Batch)

GOD the song "Nothing's Fair in Love and War" by Three Days Grace makes me think of Crosshair SO MUCH

(I really reccommend giving it a listen and then coming back, or listening to it while reading, but if not that's okay too!)

Every time I listen to it I think of Crosshair post-order 66 and his complicated feelings/relationships with the rest of his batch.

Take a look at this excerpt for example:

I always shoot first, never ask questions. Never think of consequences. I didn't feel a thing, I didn't feel a thing. I never think twice, no intentions. Never feel the consequences. Until it starts to sting, until it starts to sting,

This embodies him in the beginning of TBB, how the chip infects his actions and how it leads to the "shoot first, ask questions later" ordeal. How it leads him down the path towards the very deep character he has by the end of S2.

Then, the second part of the verse makes me think of him later within season 1 and season 2. His brothers, to him, betrayed him and left him behind. Then at the part where Cross saves Omega only to see the wedge driven between him and the rest of the batch, is so much more impactful to me.

The sting of everything he's done up to that point appears here at full force, and then carries over into his actions in S2. Maybe some of it is even seen during the whole thing with Mayday.

Then, there's this:

I never back down, always in crisis. Left to my own devices. You never meant a thing, you never meant a thing.

Here, I see him after Kamino, and during the beginning sections of Season 2. Like, fuck, thinking of his "unyielding" nature here I could totally fucking picture this being his mindset.

Never backing down from his opinions, from his thoughts on the empire, and the fact that he is in constant mental crisis because of the betrayal he felt but also his separation from his brothers- it is so fucking painful but that also makes things more interesting.

Trying to convince himself that he's doing the right thing, that his brother's are in the wrong, and that they are against him at every turn. (Thinking again of the scene where he pulls Omega out of the water and sees his brother's guns aimed at him oof)

It shows the facets of his complex character that make him Crosshair, and I will always think of this song when I think of Crosshair's excellently written character.

It's why I love him as much as I do. It's tragic, complex, and feels so damn human to me that I can't help but awe at who he is. It's messy, and confusing, but that's why it's so great.

Can't wait to see what S3 has in store for him and the rest of the batch.

(P.S. I love looking at songs through the lens of certain characters. If someone else has something like this PLEASE LET ME KNOW- reading character analysis like these gives me LIFE. Songs help me translate characters motivations, words, and personalities into words. Seeing other people do the same makes me very happy)

Welcome to the Blog!

Hey there, nice to see you here! I'm Onyx, I use he/him pronouns, and I have been hyperfixating on Star Wars for the last couple of years!

This blog is mostly for me to express my love for clones and their respective shows, as well as write about my characters or other scenarios involving said characters. I've loved Star Wars forever but only recently got the idea to make a place for me to let me ramble and talk freely about the characters I love so dearly.

I do take some writing requests, but before submitting one please look at my guidelines or I will delete/ignore it. If I don't answer a request right away it's either because I'm not in the mood to write for requests, I deleted the request because it was out of my comfort zone or made me uncomfortable somehow, or I'm working on it while battling writer's block which can increase the time it takes to finish writing by a lot. So, be patient, yeah?

This blog is mostly SFW, though some more spicy/mature posts will be made from time to time and they will be labelled as such. Minors, please be wary on my blog and stay safe. If I have to in the future, I will make this blog an 18+ blog and minors will no longer be allowed here.

Before you follow

I am autistic and will unapologetically ramble about things. I also might accidentally say something I don't mean or take something the wrong way because of my tone reading difficulties. I promise it's nothing personal!

I am very, very gay, and I use queer to describe myself in most scenarios. If that makes you uncomfortable then do what's best for you. I won't be tagging the word at all in my posts, though

I do not like clonecest and will not write anything for it. At all. I've always seen the clones as brothers and I don't write for incest either. It makes me very uncomfortable to think about it, let alone write or read about it.

I might not know if someone is problematic when reblogging something or talking to said someone, so let me know if someone falls into that category so I can correct my mistake! The same goes with any language I've used or things I've accidentally said! If I'm made aware of my mistake, I will do my damndest to make sure I don't make it again.

I don't really write for female readers/reader inserts. I lean heavily towards masculine/male readers since there's honestly not a ton of it out there for us to read. I also kind of suck at writing female readers and there are other people out there more qualified to write them then me if that's what you're looking for

I don't use y/n for reader inserts. I don't like how choppy it makes the writing so I use nicknames or things similar to it instead

I block blank blogs because of all of the tumblr bots going around. Indicate that you are human somewhere on your blog or else I'll block you without hesitation. I also don't tolerate hatred on my blog so I will block very quickly if someone is being nasty for no reason.

DNI if you are homophobic/transphobic/racist/xenophobic etc.

Will Write

Hurt/Comfort, Angst, Fluff, Recovery fics, and a ton of other genres

Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: The Bad Batch fics, for a bunch of different characters. If I have to in the future I'll specify characters I will/won't write for

Character X Reader, Character X Character, or just general scenarios that aren't ship related like "X character and Y character do this thing and laugh about it." or "FTM reader comes out to X character." So, the scenarios/prompts can be platonic or romantic. If you'd like (once I introduce them) you could also ask for my OCs in the fics too if that's what you want.

One-shots, Short Fics, Drabbles, Headcanons, and Scenarios

Third and/or Second person POVs

Some triggering content such as things like self-harm, though it might take me a while depending on the content. I try my best not to romanticize things so please let me know if any fics in this category are doing that so I can edit them/take them down/rewrite them etc.

Suggestive/Adult Content (Minus NSFW or Smut)

Outline

This is for those who want a sort of direction that they can follow in regards to the formatting of the requests. Without this format it might take me longer to get the request finished or I might have to turn it down altogether.

(Blue means it's highly recommended/suggested, orange means it's optional)

Who: Who do you want to be in the fic? Who is the main pair/group/focus?

Prompt: What do you want to see happen, what do you want people to react to, or what do you want the subject matter to be? The more details you have, the better. You can also use dialogue prompts for these if you found some that you'd like to see appear in the fic

Genre: Hurt/Comfort? Fluff? Or some other genre?

Style: Romantic pairing? Platonic? Do you want it to be more of a Oneshot or something like bullet-point headcanons? Or do you want to see little drabbles of a scenario with multiple pairings reacting to it? Let me know!

Length: A general idea of how long you'd like it to be based on wordcount.

Appearance: If there are elements of the reader (if you want a reader insert) that you want included, put it here! Plus-sized? Long Hair? Short Hair?

POV: I can write in both third or second person, but I won't write first person. You can specify which of them you'd like if you want.

Reader gender: If you don't specify that they are enby, a demiboy, trans FTM/Transmasc, or a cis male (or some other masc/male-aligned gender) I'll default to a cis male and use he/him pronouns for the reader. If you want I can also have the reader using he/they, they/he, or some other pronouns, just let me know and I'll happily do that for you. (I will not be using any fem-aligned pronouns though)

Nickname: If you want a reader insert, giving them a nickname would be a huge help since I don't use Y/N anywhere in fics. If you don't supply one I'll come up with one instead

So, for those who like examples like me, here's a couple of potential requests and what they would look like following this outline. "Hello there! So I'm looking for a fluffy thing of the bad batch (pre-order 66) where [character] has a crush on the male reader (he/they pronouns). I was looking for some headcanons of how the other members would react to learning about the crush? I'd like at least 200ish words per section if that's okay, and the reader can use the nickname Sprocket :)"

You can also do something more detailed, like this:

"Hey! I have a writing request! I was looking for some hurt/comfort for a fic of a transmasc reader (he/him) who is dating [character] and they meet people from the reader's past who purposefully misgenders him and [character] steps in to correct them. Things escalate into a fight and when [character] and the reader get back to their personal quarters they talk about it. Reader is crying and [character] thinks he's upset but then they realize that the reader is just really proud and happy to have them as his partner.

You don't have to include this but I'd love to see the reader have freckles and short hair. He's also kind of short in my head, like 5' 3" ish.

I don't mind the length for the fic, do whatever fits for you! I'd prefer if it was in third person, and you can call the reader Wyatt if you want."

Both of them are fine! I personally like when things are separated more like the second one to make it easier for me to categorize and fit into my brain, but if you don't have a giant detailed idea in your mind then that's fine too!
