During alcohol prohibition, the brewing and transportation was prohibited. Moonshiners often brewed their moonshine in the middle of forests or meadows as to avoid detection. These “cow shoes” were often worn by moonshiners as to disguise their footprints. The idea behind this invention was that if law enforcement saw shoe prints in a forest or meadow they would think nothing of it and not investigate.

Body Of Missing Boy Found Near Farm.

14 year old Jonathan Minard was last seen April 13th helping out a 29 year old friend with farm work.

The boy complained of a toothache and said he was going to call his mom and tell her to pick him up at the farm.

His mother never received that phone call. Jonathan’s remains were found near the farm in Washington Township, buried in a shallow grave.

His remains are being examined and the cause of death could take several weeks to figure out. 

Police identified a 29 year old man as a person of interest, the man has a criminal record. It is unclear whether the man is the same man Jonathan had been helping on the farm.

The man has been questioned twice and agreed to take a polygraph test but later backed out.

The investigation remains pending.

Early Info About the Highlands Ranch School Shooters

Two shooters, one a male aged 18 and one a juvenile, opened fire inside the Highlands Ranch STEM School yesterday. They killed one person and injured eight. The 18-year-old has been named as Devon Erickson, while the juvenile has yet to be named due to their age. Erickson will appear in court later today. Multiple reports say that several people physically resisted at least one of the shooters, including the murdered victim Kendrick Castillo (18).

Based on witness reports, one of the shooters withdrew a handgun which had been concealed in a guitar case then opened fire in a classroom. Two handguns were used, one a 9mm and one a revolver. A car which was on Erickson’s family’s property, which is now in possession of the police, had “FUCK SOCIETY” and “666″ written on it, as well as a pentagram that had been drawn on the hood.

Police say one of the two has a history of drug addiction and had been seeing a therapist. Erickson had a YouTube account where he uploaded videos of himself covering several songs, but this account has now been closed. Erickson was also a registered Democrat, and wrote on his Facebook account: “You know what I hate? All these Christians who hate gays.” The phrasing is a possible homage to writings found in Columbine shooter Eric Harris’ journal.

The Sheriff has said of the graffiti on the car that the police have no specific knowledge about “what it means or where it came from”. Erickson had a prolific online history, liking a variety of pages devoted to different things including PewDiePie, AK-47′s, The Walking Dead and the Democratic party. He also had profiles on Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat; on the latter his username was “devonkillz”.

The charges against Devon Erickson will be announced at around 1:30 PM local time.

On May 7, 1972, Edmund Kemper picked up two hitchhikers named Mary Ann Pesce and Anita Luchess and murdered them. Here he describes the murder of Anita:

“I was thrusting and the knife was going very deep, and it amazed me that she was stabbed three times and then was still going at it. I tried stabbing her in the front again. or towards the throat area, and she was making quite a bit of noise and was trying to fight me off, and I stabbed her in the forearms. One was so bad you could see both bones, and she saw it. When I hit, I didn’t think it really hurt so much, as it was the shock of everything happening so fast. She looked at it, and I could see the expression on her face of shock.”

The murder of Julie Van Espen

On Saturday, 05/04/2019, Julie Van Espen, a 23 year old Belgian girl, had dinner plans with her friends. At around 18h30, she left by bicycle but when she still hadn’t arrived at 21h, her friends called Julie’s parents. Police were called and they began searching for her. Sunday evening, the police spread pictures of an important witness, seen on the tape of a security camera close to where Julie went missing. By now they had already found her bloody clothes and other items of Julie in that area. The police no longer considered this case a disappearance, but a murder.

The important witness was arrested after someone tipped the police. It became clear that he was not just a witness but in fact a murder suspect when the police disclosed information they hadn’t before. That man was not only spotted close to where Julie went missing but he was also carrying her bicycle basket, which was removed from the pictures the police had previously spread.

The man who was arrested, Steve Bakelmans, already had a criminal record. In 2004 he was charged with the rape of a 58 year old woman who cared for him and let him into her home to make him a sandwich. In 2017 he was charged with another brutal rape, this time of his ex-girlfriend. He had to spend four years in prison but he appealed and the judge let him walk free until the hearing, allowing him to murder Julie only two years later.

On Monday evening, the sixth of May, Julie’s body was found in a canal in the area where other items, including bloody clothes, of her’s had already been found. 

Soon after his arrest, Steve Bakelmans confessed to Julie’s murder but he said he had no intention of killing her. He had dragged her off her bike to rape her and when she started fighting him off, he grabbed a cable lying nearby, started hitting her with it and strangled her, then threw her body in the canal. 

He has to appear in court this Friday.

The fact that he had already been charged with rape twice, the last time being only two years ago and that he got a sentence of four years in prison but was still walking free, has outraged Belgian citizens, who now call for an adjustment of the law.

BREAKING, 07/05/2019: Active shooter at STEM Highlands Ranch School in Douglas County, Colorado.

There are so many dead they can’t even confirm a number yet. It’s said to be over 30. maybe well over 30, including children.

The McDonald’s Massacre

“Hunting for humans.”

This was the last thing that James Oliver Huberty said to his wife as he walked out the door of their San Ysidro home on July 18th, 1984. According to Huberty, “Society had their chance.” He left the house armed to the teeth and consumed with a murderous intent. Witnesses saw him drive to multiple locations. A supermarket. A branch of the United States Postal Service. He settled on a McDonald’s restaurant.

Huberty walked inside and shot manager Nueva Caine (22) beneath her left eye with a 9mm Uzi Carbine. Huberty turned to employee John Arnold (16) and shot him in the chest with a 12-gauge shotgun. Huberty told everyone inside they were “dirty swines” and said he was going to “kill a thousand” people. Victor Rivera (25) tried to talk Huberty down. Huberty responded by shooting the man 14 times, killing him.

Petrified, customers hid together beneath tables and chairs. Tragically, all this did was make them easy targets for the man was out to hunt humans. He killed María Colmenero-Silva (19) by shooting her once in the chest. Showing no mercy, Huberty then aimed at Claudia Perez, aged just nine years old. He killed the child by shooting her in the stomach, face, thigh, hip, leg, chest, back, armpit and head. He turned to 11 year old Aurora Peña and shot her with the shotgun.

Huberty switched weapons to the Uzi and shot Jackie Reyes (18) 48 times. Her eight month old baby Carlos began to cry; Huberty fatally shot him in the chest. Walking over to the play area of the restaurant, Huberty shot and killed Laurence Versluis (62). He shot Keith Thomas (12) four times. Ronald Herrera eight times. Blythe Herrera (31) and Mateo Herrera (11) were shot several times each in the head and killed.

Huberty continued shooting people who were hiding beneath tables. He shot Guadalupe del Rio (24) several times, then fatally shot Arisdelsi Vuelvas Vargas (31) in the head. He aimed beneath another table. Shot Velazquez Vasquez (45) once in the chest, killing him. A few boys arrived outside on their bikes, intending to go inside and eat. Huberty saw them and opened fire. He shot Joshua Coleman three times, Omarr Hernandez several times in the chest, and David Delgado several times in the head. Coleman was the only one of the boys who survived.

Next, Huberty turned his guns on an elderly couple. He shot Aida Victoria (69) in the face with the 12-gauge - she died instantly. Her husband Miguel Ulloa (74) was shot in the head and killed. A couple and their four month old daughter, unaware of the carnage unfolding inside the restaurant, parked their car outside the building. James Huberty noticed. Despite the fact all three were shot several times, they all survived.

Huberty walked back into the restaurant and tuned a portable radio in an attempt to listen to news reports about his own mass killing. He left the radio and walked into the kitchen area wherein several employees were hiding. He killed three of them and critically wounded another. Huberty saw a fire engine outside and shot at it. The bullets tore through the vehicle but no people were hurt. Huberty continued to stalk through the building.

He noticed Jose Perez (19), who he had shot earlier, was still alive. Huberty shot him again - fatally this time. He shot Aurora Peña again with the shotgun, but she survived. Meanwhile, a sniper positioned on a nearby rooftop had been given the instruction to shoot-to-kill if he had the chance. When the sniper got his shot, he took it. He fired a single bullet which penetrated Huberty’s chest and severed his aorta. The mass killer was dead within moments.

Just like that, the bloodshed was ended. James Oliver Huberty had left 21 people dead or dying, as well as 19 others with serious gunshot wounds. The unremarkable 41 year old had just committed the deadliest mass shooting in the history of the United States (at that point in time at least, as of writing this it is now the seventh). The people James Huberty murdered were as young as eight months and as old as 74 years.

The massacre left a significant impact on the largely Mexican-American community of San Ysidro. Mexican-American women aged between 35-50 (who had not been directly involved in the shootings) were surveyed in a study which aimed to discern the impact of the shootings. This study found that 12% had had either mild or severe levels of PTSD at some point after the shootings, while 6% said this persisted between six and nine months after the event.

When asked by a policeman, “how do you feel about your boyfriend being the backpacker killer?”, Chalinder Hughes, who’s been dating Ivan Milat for 4 years, could not accept the police allegations about her boyfriend that were thrown around like stun grenades. « The description of the wanted person didn’t fit Ivan. He’s not into provoking people. A very calm person. Not violent and he doesn’t lost his temper. He would never strike a woman, let alone rape and murder. He has a great respect for women. This I know. Ivan is more likely to walk away than have an argument. This is the worst crime imaginable. I’d rather be dead than connected to someone who would commit this. » - The Sydney Morning Herald, 1996.

In February 1994, after nearly two months of not hearing back from him, Shellie Kepley received a birthday card in the mail addressed to her son and signed by her father, 53-year-old Paul Gruber, a retired high school teacher. This wasn’t unusual, as Paul sent his grandson a birthday card every year without fail. But Shellie immediately felt something was wrong when she read the inside of the card: the tone of the message, as well as the handwriting and signature, was nothing like her own father’s. Shellie called the police to check on his welfare. When they arrived at Paul Gruber’s home in Idaho, there was no sign of him anywhere and the house was nearly vacant. They noticed a rug that was glued to the hardware floor which they pulled up, revealing an unusual gouge in the floor consistent with damage caused by a ricocheting bullet. The area was tested with luminol and blood that belonged to Paul Gruber was found. Meanwhile, Shellie left a bogus message in her father’s voicemail reminding him that her husband’s birthday was coming up. Sure enough, she received another birthday card along with a $25 cheque. That’s when she was convinced that this was not her father, but an imposter.

Whoever was posing as Paul Gruber had taken over his responsibilities, such as paying his bills and picking up his mail. A forensic document examiner concluded that the birthday card and cheque weren’t forged, but Shellie didn’t buy it. The police studied the video footage of the post office where Paul Gruber’s mailbox was hosted and witnessed someone other than Paul Gruber picking up his mail. He was identified as Darryl Kuehl. Darryl was pulled in for questioning and he admitted that Paul Gruber asked him to pick up his mail while he went away on a trip. When police supplied a photo of Paul Gruber, Darryl strangely didn’t recognize him.

A second forensic document examiner was later consulted, but also given writing that belonged to Darryl Kuehl. A new conclusion was made: Paul Gruber didn’t write any of those cheques or birthday cards. The writing did, however, match Darryl Kuehl’s. They also found large sums of money being deposited into Darryl’s bank account which paralleled with similar withdrawals made from Paul’s account. Police obtained a search warrant to scour Darryl’s home and discovered a plethora of incriminating items, including weaponry, as well as furniture, and cheques that belonged to Paul Gruber.

On August 23, 1995, police finally recovered Paul Gruber’s badly-decayed body in the crawl space of his own home, wrapped up in a deflated air mattress. He had been shot 4 times with a .22 caliber. Darryl Kuehl was arrested a year later and sentenced to life in prison for murder, forgery,and grand theft. Paul Gruber did, in fact, hire Darryl as a handyman to do little jobs for him. It is believed that Darryl gained Paul’s trust so he could kill him and acquire his fortune.

On July 07, 1979, after listening to the 2 hours interrogation tape, Judge Edward Cowart ruled the jury would not hear tapes or testimony portraying Ted Bundy as a disturbed fugitive. Public defenders of Ted Bundy testified that while the questioning was going on, they were locked out of the county jail and denied access to their client. Bundy then said that if he had known his assigned attorneys were available, he would have consulted them.

Cowart was incensed. « What bothers me is the presence of the state’s lawyer saying to lawyers for the defendant, ‘I’m not going to let you in.’ He is an officer of the court. He knows his responsibilities… »

The tape might have been allowed had it run continuously. « But in my mind, there is still a question that certain portions might have been selectively taped… that a two hour and 45 minute tape that began at 1:29 in the morning ended it with it getting light outside. »

After being awake for two night, and questioned for nine consecutive hours, Bundy was given sleeping pills.

« While I’m quite sure Mr. Bundy wanted to speak with officers at the beginning of the questioning, it’s not clear later on, » Cowart said.
