We currently have 12 applications total, which is awesome. Again, thank you everyone for your interest, it means a lot. However, the numbers are a bit unbalanced. Here is a tally of HR applications as of this morning by Marz on the staff team:

In total, there are 7 TwilightWhim applications, 3 for the WaveWhirls, and 2 for the JaggedCrags. Although the TwilightWhims are supposed to be a big clowder, I’m putting this out there to hopefully encourage more people to apply for the other two!

As a reminder, you will have three character slots per clowder, and you are welcome to make more characters once your first is submitted in the server.

I am not outright banning TwilightWhim submissions for the rest of the application period, to be clear. Just know that IF you are sticking to the TWs, there are other high ranks open besides Scholars that have very little competition!

Can a cat have/draw the same card multiple times throughout their lives?

Yes! That has been answered with a bit more detail here!

The cats of TwilightWhims know the fae are responsible for the disappearances, but do they know that it is specifically the fae rings that are causing them?

Good question! Considering the legends around the Fae rings I think that there would be suspicion and avoidance with them for sure, but it’s up in the air if all the disappearances were by direct contact with the rings.

Howdy! Quick question, I saw in the rules that it says no body paint for character creation, does that mean no body paint/dyes in general, or no body paint/dyes meant to mimic indigenous body/face paint? And, also, does that include no like dyed fur?

Sorry if it seems like a dumb question, I was in a roleplay once that also said no paint in indigenous patterns but they were vague so I wanted some clarification.

Honestly I think I’m of the opinion to avoid it altogether. It’s not that I don’t think it possible to portray these things without making them appropriative, its just that it comes up inappropriately in the fandom enough for me to steer people away from it. Sorry if that’s disappointing.

I also got a request to avoid feather decorations altogether so that’s another thing to keep in mind! Plants, flowers, bug wings, are fine as far as I know, along with pet or human accessories for the TWs and WWs. The JCs can have accessories made from metal, fur/leather, crystals, and rocks, but again, make sure you know what aesthetics you’re borrowing from and why. The JaggedCrags are a little bit viking-based if that helps at all.

On the site it says your first character must be at least 10 moons old but the auditions have both apprentice and kit roles are open in?

Yes! Please specify, especially if they are reversed.

Some quick things I wanted to mention!

1. If you applied and are accepted, please remember that my first method of contact will be through discord friend request. The account that will most likely be coming your way is “wandertrot”. From there I will send you an invite to the server.

If a day or two passes with no response, I will try to contact you through your listed socials.

2. If you are applying for a limited slot high rank and are accepted into the server, please know that your cat is going to be initially approved as their backup rank/role. Once applications close, staff will decide on who will get what high rank and reveal the results in-server. A rejected high rank request does not mean your entry is bad— your character is fine and you can still participate in the roleplay with them!

TwilightWhim Scholars and Healers in all three clowders have multiple slots; however, we are aiming for variety with them and backup ranks/roles could still come into play.

How many apps have been set in so far ?

I am very thankful for all the interest. As previously mentioned I’m still figuring out the exact amount of members that would be outside of my comfort zone as admin and I am actively expecting more submissions so don’t feel discouraged at any point! They will stay open until the 20th, and if you don’t get in first round for whatever reason, you can be put on a waitlist :)

For my character, I want to use a physical deck, shuffle and draw, but I received a duplicate card along the way. Is it possible to have the same card for different stages, or should I redraw and pick a new one?

Yay! Really happy to hear other people using their own decks for this, it’s really fun. To answer your question, I’m gonna say it’s totally up to you and how you would want to interpret it. I personally think duplicate cards at different stages has the potential to imply interesting things about your character, their values, and their arc!

Would Creepycrawly be permissible for the Twillightwhims? I'm uncertain if there are any limits to the sort of names I can have.

On the principle that this name is really fun, I say go for it! As long as the character’s name isn’t offensive or referencing a meme or irl brand or person or something you should be fine.

Are human accessories allowed? ( Glasses, Piercings, Pouches, etc )

Human accessories are allowed in the TwilightWhims and the WaveWhirls! I could see them popping up every now and then with the JaggedCrags but they still don’t really trust anything humans do and prefer to make their own accessories.

Do you have a timeline for the events mentioned in your lore posts? I know you mention at the end of each one when the RP begins, but I am not sure how long ago each event took place.

The WaveWhirls officially become The Collective and separate themselves from the other clowders thirty-five years ago.

The JaggedCrag Soup was started thirty-three years ago.

Moonheart Bansheevoice came into power thirty years ago.

The JaggedCrag’s Winter/Spring cavern camp was discovered twenty-nine years ago.

Moonheart Auroracharm came into power twenty-five years ago.

Starheart Turnipmoon came into power twenty-two years ago.

Moonheart Cygnetsight came into power fifteen years ago.

Representative Shiver came into power thirteen years ago.

Starheart Iciclenose came into power eight years ago.

What's up with the Playbooks? Are these optional ideas for our character's skillsets?

Hi! Consider Playbooks to be categorical tropes your character potentially fits into if you are planning to use our TTRPG mechanics; they are mandatory if you want to play that way. However, your character does not have to fit a Playbook perfectly by any means. They are up to player’s interpretation.

So if you feel like none of them truly fit your character, I would say go by which one has at least two moves you think would be fitting! As your character levels up, you will have the option to choose new moves beyond your chosen Playbook; they are customizable!

I will say that I do have draft ideas for other Playbooks beyond the ones listed at the moment. Once things get going within the server and I have enough ideas to make new Playbooks a reality, we might hold a vote to see which ones could be added. I would be fine with people switching their Playbooks if they find a new one to be more fitting, as long as it isn’t switched more than once.

will we be able to audition for the collective in the first round?

Honestly, I didn’t expect anyone to be interested in making characters for The Collective first round! However I’m gonna say, like general strays and pets, you cannot. Sorry! There are plans to open it up later down the line though!

If you still want an association with The Collective, you are more than welcome to make a WaveWhirl cat that came from there— be it three moons ago through the Oracle’s initial selection, or right when the roleplay starts after word has spread back to the town.
