per what these people are saying, if trans men have female privilege over trans women bc ppl see as our assigned gender not what we identify as... wouldnt that then mean trans women have male privilege over trans men? or is that just not how it works in their minds?

(disclaimer that im not saying either one has privilege over the other in that way, just going off what theyre arguing)

The logic is literally just "trans women are disadvantaged by gender in every possible way to every possible extent, whereas transmascs are advantaged by gender in any potential way, and even when they are disadvantaged it's actually secretly a privilege." Trans women are ontologically incapable from ever benefitting from being seen as a man in any context vs. the minute a trans man puts on a binder/changes his pronouns/realizes he is a man he has full access to male privilege and must constantly watch to make sure he isn't oppressing women. But also trans men benefit from being seen as a woman in ways trans women never can, and also experience no real disadvantage from being seen as a woman, and ALSO trans men can never really break the binary so they also never experience being truly disadvantaged for being visibly trans/androgynous.

Obviously there are people who are better about this on the other side of the discourse wall, people who do have more consistent and credible views although I still disagree with them. But for a lot of people, I think their thinking just revolves around the truism that "trans men have systemic gender privilege over trans women" and will come up with any argument needed for the situation based on that. That's how you get takes like 'trans men have female privilege because society doesn't care about women crossdressing and we are seen as in need of protection!' which 1. is a terrible understanding of how patriarchy treats FTM crossdressing 2. is a terrible understanding of how the patriarchy treats genderqueer people seen as women 4. is a misuse of the concept of weaponized benevolent misogyny to call trans men systemically privileged 3. is extremely white and western and just generally shortsighted.

There's a lot to be said about trans people's relationship with percieves womanhood + manhood, how the gender binary can be weaponized in different ways, how trans people participate in patriarchy and recreate dynamics in various ways with each other. But these people will simply not engage with any theory that doesn't hierarchize trans people's place in patriarchy, and they also won't engage with anything that seems to talk about how patriarchal views of masculinity intersect with transphobia and are weaponized against all trans people.

Yes he is. Kai gets his powers mostly from the fire element and his parent though.

When Rience kidnapped Jaskier to torture him for Geralt’s whereabouts, he doesn’t just burn Jaskier’s fingers. Be becomes obsessed with the bard and assaults him.

Which becomes another glaring reason for Geralt to kill the fire fucker when he finds out… (maybe Jaskier tells him in a moment of vulnerability at Kaer Morhen? After geralt PROPERLY makes up to him?)

When Geralt tore Jaskier out of Rience’s hell, he thought the worst was over. Foolish hope.

They got him back to Kaer Morhen in one piece—but Jaskier wasn’t whole. Not even close.

Now, nothing is simple. Nothing is safe. They can’t let him near anything sharp. Anything he could use.

Because he’s tried.

Knives? Gone. Windows? Locked. The bedframe? Removed—after he wrapped a blanket around it, trying to choke himself unconscious. Or dead. Now, it’s just a mattress on the floor. A hollow shell of safety in a keep that suddenly feels like a prison.

Geralt stands in the doorway, silent, watching Jaskier sleep in the dim light. His breathing is shallow. Uneven. Haunted.

Yennefer’s voice cuts through the quiet like a blade.

“I think I found a way to help,” she says. “A spell. It could erase what Rience did to him. Everything.”

“No,” Geralt answers, hard and immediate.

Yennefer steps closer, eyes narrowing. “You’ve seen him, Geralt. What he’s become. Rience didn’t just break his body—he shattered his mind. This spell could free him from all of it. The torture. The rape. The months of it. You want him to wake up screaming for the rest of his life? You want him to remember every second of that?”

Geralt doesn’t flinch, but his jaw clenches. His eyes are fixed on the motionless form on the mattress.

“I want him to choose,” he growls. “Rience took everything from him. I won’t take this too.”

Silence hangs heavy between them. Then—

A soft voice, cracked and raw, floats from the mattress.

“…Geralt.”

Yennefer steps back. “I’ll leave you to him.”

She disappears into the shadows as Geralt moves to Jaskier’s side. He kneels down, leveling his gaze with his friend’s.

“How are you feeling?” he asks quietly.

Jaskier’s eyes, bloodshot and hollow, meet his. And despite everything, a flicker of gratitude passes through them.

john didn't have to say the other part out loud either--take care of sammy--because that kinda shit is wrought up in dean's bones. he'd do it even if john begged him not to.

but this...it's unspoken. dad wouldn't ask him to do it, but dean knows how to make himself helpful.

it's an accident that it happens at all.

adam cries often, all the damn time. he's so young, barely a few months old. it's so rare for a pup to lose their mother so early, and without the proper pack bonds to support it, the pup can die, too.

dean could barely look at the kid for the first month. his presence was a constant reminder that dad had walked out on them, on mom, on the mission, to play happy families--or at least, happy man and wife--while he and sam had been left in some shithole town or another.

but...

baby adam would squall and squirm and scream at all hours of the day, tiny hands grasping for a mother that wasn't there.

in short, adam reminded dean of sam.

dean had prayed when he was younger--so, so young, right after mary died--that god would bring his mommy back, that the angels could help him take care of sammy. he'd fix bottles with a religiosity and intensity that had frightened dad at the time. dean remembered.

and here's more proof that god doesn't exist--or if he does, he's the most sadistic bastard that dean's ever had the pleasure of conceptualizing--dean's breasts started to grow.

it was unheard of.

dean presented as an omega--big fucking disappointment--a little early, aged twelve. he'd been on supps pretty regularly since then, since the heats were so debilitating and disruptive that dad had to haul sam out of the motel room by the back of his neck like a pup. dean tried to go on scent blockers a few years back, but they gave sammy a panic attack, so dean would only go on them when dad went out of town.

that being said, puberty was OVER. done with. finished.

but that damn baby got plopped into their lives, and dean's nipples started to ache. his chest got a little bigger. he was fucking...lactating. like a goddamn cow. like an omega. it was sickening.

dad doesn't ask him to do it.

But dean does it anyway, because he's a good son. he's a good pack omega (as much as the title drives dread through him), and he takes care of his pups. even when he didn't ask for them.

it's hard to stay mad at adam, when he fights his way to lifting his head, when he fights his way onto his stomach, when he wiggles excitedly when dean turns on PBS and lets the fucking wiggles cheer about whatever the wiggles get excited about.

now, dean sighs as he fumbles with the motel keys. he's been out at the dollar store, trying to piece together a coherent meal out of shelf-stable products. he's definitely going to have to go out and hustle pool after he gets adam to bed. the door finally swings open, and dean sighs in relief.

dad's been gone for about a week. caleb dropped by and snagged him for a ghoul hunt up in rochester, and so he and sammy and adam have been camped out in a motel room with cable tv and a kitchenette with a hotplate that dean can't get enough of.

sam's home from school already, propped up on the table with his schoolbag and a couple of textbooks. he looks up when dean enters, and grumbles out a tired 'hey.' sam hasn't presented yet--a late bloomer, by all accounts--but his body's been taking a beating lately regardless. dean kicks his leg as he passes, and sam grumbles irritably.

"how's the pup?" dean asks, and dean can hear the scowl in sam's voice as he mutters, 'been a fucking peach.'

sam hasn't been as willing to work through dad's indiscretions. he won't look at the kid if he can help it. dean crosses the room, over to the corner where adam's crib is leaning against the wall next to sam's bed.

dean's pretty damn good at denial, but he can't deny the way his chest cracks open--explosive, maddening--when adam lights up as dean comes into view.

he starts wiggling immediately, little arms flailing and legs kicking in a lopsided rhythm.

"hey there, pup," dean murmurs, poking the little fucker in the stomach. adam squeals in delight, and he takes dean's finger in a little chubby fist and sticks it immediately in his mouth.

dean groans.

he's hungry.

he'd been fed just before sam came back from school and dean traded out to go to the store. but clearly, the pup is a bottomless pit.

"come on," dean sighs, reaching down into their makeshift bassinet and pulling a wriggling adam into his arms. he sits down heavily on the foot of sam's bed, and shrugs out of the sleeve of his shirt. his tits are still small enough that he hadn't felt the need to bind them, but the second his tits became obvious through his shirt, he's taking bandages to them. it takes a bit of maneuvering to get adam situated, especially with the onset of adam's quiet squalling.

"yeah, yeah," dean mocks, "keep your shirt on."

but they both let out a sigh of relief when adam finally latches. dean wants to flop back against the bed, but knows adam will absolutely bite his tit straight off if he does. dean looks down at his baby brother's face, and when adam blinks up at him, for just a moment, he looks like sammy did when he was a baby.

big, big eyes. chubby cheeks with little moles, surprisingly thick eyebrows. eyelids slanted underneath his browbone.

dean snorts. he curls a finger around adam's little cheek, so soft that dean's afraid his calluses will scratch his skin, make him bleed. adam's tiny fist, clenching at air above him, swings out and smacks at dean's hand, before wrapping a tiny hand around dean's finger with surprising strength.

"woah, easy tiger." dean laughs--coos, really--but gently lets the other fingers on his hand curl around adam's tiny fist. adam's grip slowly relaxes, and his next blink is a bit slower. "there we go, kid. bein' real good for me today, huh?"

there's something loud--a creak-snap--and dean's jerked out of whatever oxytocin high the pup's got him on to find sammy dropping the cracked carcass of a mechanical pencil from his fist. sam shakes his fist out, shoulders tense, and he starts muttering darkly.

"you okay over there, lou ferrigno?" dean calls.

sam's head whips around, and dean jerks back a bit from the spark in sam's eyes.

"dude, could you do that in another room?" he asks, teeth gritted. dean blinks. he looks around at the single motel room they share, the two beds, the kitchenette.

"the bathroom?" dean asks, incredulously. sam scowls.

"could you put on a blanket, at least?"

dean gapes.

"what the hell's your problem?" dean asks. his stomach churns. sam's never been weird about him being an omega. ever.

hell, for the first few of his heats, sam insisted on staying behind with dean to make sure he stayed fed and alive. sam's on that new-age enlightenment bullshit and insists that omegas are more than their presentation, blah blah blah. he's trying to talk dean into radicalization on a weekly basis. and now, suddenly that sam can see physical proof of dean's omega-ness, he's being a dick?

sam's so good at reading him that he can tell whatever's happening on dean's face is A Bad Thing.

"not like that," sam shakes his head. he looks so frustrated, so uncomfortable, and for the first time, dean can see the tips of his ears are burning red. "just...maybe be quieter about it, is all."

realization hits dean like a lightning bolt.

"sammy, are you--"

sam tenses, the redness on his ears flaming down to his cheeks.

"--being a prude about this?"

sam looks confused for a second, then relieved, then affronted. he sputters.

"w-what? no!"

dean coos, relief unspooling in his chest that his baby brother isn't being a dick.

"aw, it's okay, sammy," dean reassures him, "it's natural."

dean doesn't say that he used to pray he'd be able to do something similar with sammy. that he would've killed to take care of sammy like this. that sometimes--and he'll take this to his grave--he wakes up from dreams of having a six-month old sammy at his chest and feeling hollow when there is no baby in his arms.

sammy is still scowling, "just because it's natural doesn't mean i want it in my face."

dean crows.

"oh it's not in your face yet, little brother!" he hauls himself to his feet, and sam's eyes go wide, mouth dropping open.

"don't--" sam sputters, and falls out of his chair.

dean laughs so hard that he dislodges adam, who retaliates by punching dean straight in the tit. little fucker.

as far as i can tell, folks use "pup" and "baby" interchangeably in omegaverse, so that's what i've done here. baby adam is NOT a small dog, lmao.

on another note, little does dean know, anon, that sam is absolutely ON FIRE with jealousy, watching dean coo over adam and pick him up and cradle his little face. sam hasn't been able to tear his eyes away from dean's chest since his milk came in, hasn't been able to focus on anything else.

the second he hears dean cooing, and adam's little peals quieted, he's bent in half, tearing at his hair. can't even explain it, really, until he presents, until his new knot throbs in his pants when dean--smelling like a fucking dream--feeds their the kid. it drives him mad. it eats him ALIVEEE.

his stomach is hollow and his head bangs like a drum and his palms itch because he needs dean like he needs to breathe and something else is taking up his mental real estate. dean shouldn't get to sound like that with anyone else. adam shouldn't get to have parts of dean that he can't.

I have a pronunciation question: my understanding is that enban/enben are the singular/plural terms (paralleling man/men and woman/women). But I just realized I tend to pronounce them identically in my head, which is probably not ideal. I'm curious what pronunciation other people use? I pronounce them about the same as man/men, just with en- added. But I think pronouncing them similarly is pretty normal. I know in French a lot of plural words don't sound different from the singular versions; you figure it out through context cues.
